  • This video takes you through the removal & installation process of doing a drop in stage 2 cam kit. Also some tips on the oil pump, lifter bleeding, inner cam bearing removal & installation. How to setup Screamin Eagle adjustable pushrods & drive sprocket shimming.
    This stage 2 kit was from Screamin Eagle & inlcuded the SE204 Cams. Perfect for this 96ci Fatboy. The 204 Cam proves a great a drop kit as no extra compression is required to get the low end torque gains. Anything larger than these 204s requires higher compression ratios as the intake valve stays open for longer.
    I also show measuring the crank shaft run out and the tool to use.
    This job is something you should not attempt yourself unless you have a strong mechanical back ground and a good understanding of the Harley-Davidson Twin Cam, engine as some steps involved were not included in the video.
    I make these videos to show you the ins and outs of the work I do, and a little bit of insight into the process.

    Thanks for watching! See you in the next video.

    I have a 04 fat boy. Trying to upgrade the cams. What’s a good mid range cam and where is the best place to buy them?

    Do have a question? Reason why I'm asking this' is because I have a 2015 Fatboy, and' was just wondering what did you use to do the final tune up?

    Hello, great video very well explained in detail very good camera work excellent all around.
    I have a 2005 Fatboy installed new S&S crankshaft, 8081 billet aluminum fueling cam plate and HF oil pump.
    Gears would change to Andrew 37 gear drive new lifters and pushrods all new bearings and the blue James gaskets for the whole engine.
    I have a time cert that came loose out of the spark plug hole the front jug unfortunately waiting for the tool wish me luck.
    If you have any tips my mind is open thank you in advance.
    PS I am trying to do this with the head on the bike with the gas tank lifted for access?!!

    New cams, bearings and the taken apart and reassembled oil pump don't require any assembly lube?

    • @MasterTechMiller
      @MasterTechMiller  Рік тому

      Engine oil is applied during assembly mate.
      Remember, just because something isn't shown in the video doesn't mean it didn't happen.

      @@MasterTechMiller well mate.. for a how to installation video wouldn't it make sense to show that and not assume viewers would know? Engine oil and assembly lube two different animals. We've come a long way since Babbitt bearings and oil cups.

      desideri passare dalla pompa dell'olio di serie a un tipo di alimentazione? Sei preoccupato per la quantità di miglia percorse dalla moto? scusa per la barriera linguistica

    • @MasterTechMiller
      @MasterTechMiller  4 роки тому

      rifornimento fanno un ottimo prodotto. Se si intende sostituire la pompa dell'olio, ispezionare l'eccentricità dell'albero motore. Se si dispone di un runout superiore a 10 millesimi di pollice, l'albero motore dovrà essere ricostruito o sostituito

      am worried cuz i have 38,000 millions. And I would like to know from you. If I have to change the timing chain. And pump oilo. Obligatory. For economy I found a fuel pump. And I'd like to know what. You think. I saw you very prepared and professional.

    I hate using adjustable pushrods , take the extra time to remove the rocker boxes replace gaskets and the oil breathers that’s the right way.

    • @MasterTechMiller
      @MasterTechMiller  2 роки тому

      We don't see too many Sportys in our dealership unfortunately, the most I've ever done to one was the stage 4 kit from Screamin Eagle with the SE Cams, Bigger throttlebody & intake manifold & CNC Ported Heads. Made just over 105hp slip on's.

    I notice the cam shoe wasn't changed, what mileage should those be changed mines at 20k

    • @MasterTechMiller
      @MasterTechMiller  2 роки тому

      The updated Hydraulic chain tensioner shows are quiet resilient as long as regular on time servicing is carried out.
      Other factors such as excessive crankshaft run out can cause accelerated wear on the shoes but even still they have been known to last upto 150,000km without any problems.

    Good work mate, I have a 09 fatty so this video is very informative. Could you use the original pushrod.

    • @MasterTechMiller
      @MasterTechMiller  4 роки тому +1

      Yes you can use the original pushrods, however it invovles a little more labour as you need to pull the tank, rocker covers & rocker gear out to remove the stock pushrods. The extra labour works out to be about as much as a new set of adjustable pushrods are. Most people go with the adjustable pushrods because if they want to change cam shafts later on its easier and more accurate to set the lifter pre load properly

      The genuine Harley inner bearing remover & installer. JIMS Tooling do one aswell that is much more affordable for the public to buy and does the same job.
      The genuine tool is over $400 more in price, the only reason I have one and use it is because I work at a dealership and the genuine tooling is required
