- New ECM flash just released, it came out 17 February 2022, my dealer got me in ASAP so I could let everyone know my thoughts. I have put a couple hundred miles on it so far, and several hours, I'm really enjoying the new factory calibration. Thanks for the update on the flash. Good to tell people to ride slow and practice turning slow makes you a better rider. I do that pretty much every time I take the bike out, I do some circles and figure eights. People wonder why I can do u-turns so well… I practice.
Exactly. I kept seeing people complain about slow speed maneuvers, but never had trouble on this bike, it's much more capable than I am. Thanks for commenting!
Good job man. I ordered my 22 Riot Orange DH about a month ago and I hope it comes with the update. I added some options so Im told it will arrive sometime in August. Cant wait 👍🏼

That’ll be a good tune to have in the meantime till it gets a bit warmer and I can ride up to LLOYDZ in St. Paul to get the speed limiter removed and the full performance unleashed.
Already had my dealer and theirs tell me it’ll still be covered under the 5 year warranty I got with it. 😁👍🏽
Sounds great! That is probably the only thing I wish the factory would do is remove the speed limiter.
Test rode a challenger an the first thing I noticed was the tune was off. The roadmaster was too but not as bad. Glad they fixed it. I ended up with a roadglide and harley has refined the tune as well.
Yeah I definitely think the Harley has a more refined tune. Not faster or anything, but definitely smoother and more predictable. You must have rode a newer roadmaster. My 2017 was perfect when it came to throttle control and smoothness.
I did the new Indians flash and followed it up with the Lloyds's flash the same day. I am stage 2 with a cat delete stage 1 intake and K&N filter. So just so you know aftermarket flashes won't void warranty. according to Magnuson Moss They have to first prove the flash caused a failure and then they can charge you for the work but the warranty is still in tact. I have discussed this at length with my Indian dealer in Albuquerque who also encourages the Lloyd's flash. Most dealerships world wide have applied for Lloyds remote tuning status. So my warranty is intact and I have nothing to worry about. Aftermarket flashes won't void warranty. Your bike sounds great by the way.
If the engine breaks while aftermarket flashed that's all they need for proof. Magnusson moss is great for pipes, and other things, but it's quite simple for them to prove when all they have to say is you ran a modified tune that effected what's considered safe, and legal, from the factory. Your bike, do with it what you wish, but that's the bottom line of what will absolutely happen. Not sure what the point of getting the factory flash was if you replaced it with lloydz? I've talked to others that have said the Lloydz tune didn't actually fix the issues like throttle lag or surging. Only benefit I see is the increased speed limit, which you also don't need.
@@DarkHorseParatrooper The Lloydz flash does not replace the benefits of the new Indian flash. So you get the best of both the worlds. So to get the new one does not hurt.
Hopefully the new 22 models will have this already before they leave the factory!
Only brand new ones being built right now would possibly have them. It just got finished and released Feb 17, 2022

Oh you couldn't do it on most Indians as far as I know. I had a roadmaster before, and now this Challenger. Neither did it. Bearded Bobber just confirmed the Indian Scout can, so that may be the only one😂 I'm super happy with the new calibration. Thanks for watching!
I can do it on the scout. I havent tried on the challenger.
Yeah mine wouldn't do it, the demo I tried it on wouldn't, rm wouldn't and I've asked others they said no idle coasting either. Mine would stall if it were attempted before. I noticed the rpm is up a little, like 900 to 950 or so now. Let me know when you try it on the challenger. Maybe they all behave slightly different. Doubtful though.
Weasel-have you noticed a difference in the estimated fuel remaining thing they talk about with this update?
Lol where did you see weasel? You know, I did have some minor issues with the fuel reading not showing full at first after fillups but I have not specifically noticed if it's been fixed or not.
Just to be clear is this a factory calibration update or stage 1 update?
It is a factory update. They have one for all three stages: stock, stage 1, and stage 2. It fixes the bugs like the super jerky throttle, let's you idle around with no clutch or gas, fixes the idle surging, etc.
How do you like the sound ? Any mechanical issues?
Sound is pretty subjective. I didn't like it at first, it definitely grew on me. It's unique. Thanks for watching.

Nope. I'm back in sport mode again, can confirm it works!!! Also glad I'm not the only one who's bike was incapable of that. Both Indians I've owned so far couldn't!

14 inch bars from KST
