in "Death by Glamour" Mettaton talks about the fact that the love of the fans almost gives him wings and lets him "fly to the surface".
Then, in "Power of Neo" he mentions, that he now has wings and the power to fly.

Mettaton, on the other hand, is an accomplished star and is probably the toughest challenge on a Pacifist run and the second toughest on a Neutral, right behind Asgore. Still, there are a lot of people that like Mettaton, I don't think there's really a character in Undertale that people hate (well, maybe Jerry or So Sorry, but they're kinda irrelevant)

mettaton is indeed male bacause, when you talk to alphys she says 'he' instead of 'she', also, when you talk to undyne when you cook with ger she says that alohys brung a friend and all HE did was: lying on her piano eating grapes. I'm asuming undyne was talking about Mettaton.

I do indeed think he's male, there is also other monsters in hotland referring to Mettaton as "He", Never "She". Many people think that he's female because it is speculated that the ghost is female, but the body was designed male.
