Ive watched 7 videos now trying to figure out where this is and how to get it out and yours is the only understandable one. I really appreciate it. You've got a new subscriber!
Did this job today. I don't have a bunch of sockets to choose from. I bought a 3/8 drive 19mm deep Kobalt socket from Lowes and it was not deep enough. Had to get a 1/2 drive set from Harbor freight to get one that was deep enough. Should have brought the new part with me when I went to Lowes. This was a pain to get out and replace, but would not have gotten it done without this video!
Thank you ,you made this quick and easy ! Even your description for the video helped lay out exactly what I needed to get the job done ! Keep being awesome ! Your truley helping and you get to the point!
Thank you so much for posting this video. I was working on a 3.4L AWD equinox. I bought drawings from all data AND Mitchell online both were very poorly drawn. Every other video shows the sensor on the rear of the engine so I went down a 4 hour rabbit hole that was wrong. Even after seeing your video I still couldn’t find it. But my eyes were tired by then. Don’t forget to clear codes after installing new sensor and bleeding coolant if needed.
I need mine changed. My 17 yr old son asked his friend if he can do it. The little punk wanted to charge us 70.00 to do it! Lol!! No thanks! My husband's fr will do it for free! Thank you for showing how simple it actually is!
Thanks for the video,I also broke the red clamp, did you have to replace it or did you just connect it and leave it as is?,just wondering if that was something I needed to look into soon or not?
The red clamp is like a safety measure. It helps the connector stay in place. If it were me, I would leave it as is, and you'll know if it starts acting up because your temperature sensor would come disconnected. The likelihood of that is so small because you still have the 2 sides that push in to remove the connector. If it bothers you, you can find a connector on another Traverse at the junkyard and splice it onto your car.
The rad fan can turn on when engine is off and key is out if certain conditions are met like overheating. Or in this case a bad ECT sensor will make the engine think it’s overheating and fan will stay on for ~10 minutes after
What year was that traverse. I have a 2012 I am having the hardest time removing this. Been like two hours trying everything. Any more tips you could give? Thanks!!
And then she took out a hammer to bust off that plug. la la la his does fix the P2158 problem. Also fixes the throttle code. All because a heater hone broke and they over heated the motor.
It’s just a safety clip (prevents the connector from backing out when it’s depressed) it’s built into the connector so you’ll need to get a whole new connector and pigtail if it snapped off, or if it’s not that bad of a snap, just push the connector back in until it clicks (like a connector normally would)

Glad you have multiple resources, and he sounds like a CEO in the making 😂
That's actually cheap compared to most shops 😂 gotta remember they charge away more for labor then necessary or fair
Finally someone who can explain what this thing is and where it is!!!
I wish I would have watched this BEFORE taking it to the shop!!
Hopefully you found an honest shop though! Building a good relationship with an honest mechanic could be worth it
Spark plug boot pliers also work REALLY well to get the wiring connector off.
Oh! Thank you for that helpful tip!
Thanks! Video helped a lot!
Good quick video. To the point
Your voice was so pleasant compared to the other video I just watched where the camera woman is talking.

@@GirlieGarage awesome thank you again, your video was very helpful
does it mean that ECU has power to energize the radiator fan relay even if the engine is off ?
Sorry I don’t understand your question. However the radiator fan should not turn on with the engine off
The rad fan can turn on when engine is off and key is out if certain conditions are met like overheating. Or in this case a bad ECT sensor will make the engine think it’s overheating and fan will stay on for ~10 minutes after
@@latenttweet thank you ,that mean the ECU will send a signal to the relay of the fan motor even if engine is off

Honestly it is a PITA, it helps to have small hands, maybe ask a neighbor who has small hands to help? Or extra long pliers?
Thanks!! Appreciate the advice. Great channel!!

You do not push the release tab out you push it in to release she is wrong on that aspect
I keep getting a P135B code. Any ideas? Thx!
Did you try googling it? A TSB popped up right away for me…
dose anyone know what the red clip is called?
It’s just a safety clip (prevents the connector from backing out when it’s depressed) it’s built into the connector so you’ll need to get a whole new connector and pigtail if it snapped off, or if it’s not that bad of a snap, just push the connector back in until it clicks (like a connector normally would)
I can’t get the damn clip off the sensor to change it
Not sure which clip you’re referring to. The red clip stays on the connector.
There is no five point socket
You are correct, if it’s mis-stated in the video then it’s 6 point
why didnt you just show the complete replacement video. This video is really lacking in details
