Why can't I play my games on my Xbox series s ssd?
Hi! For more specific questions, please contact our customer support team on our website: www.seagate.com/contacts/ They will be able to help you directly. Thank you.
will the 4tb work on xbox serise s or x
Hi there! Yes and no.
Yes: On Xbox Series X|S, your external HDD and SSD Game Drives can be used to play thousands of Original Xbox, Xbox 360, and Xbox One classics while serving as high-capacity Game Vaults for Xbox Series X|S titles.
No: Games optimized for Xbox Series X|S require the Xbox Velocity Architecture. When you’re ready to play those-just transfer them from your external HDD or SSD to your internal SSD or the Seagate Storage Expansion Card for Xbox Series X|S.
Can you use Xbox SSD drive on Xbox One S?
Yes, you can use the Seagate Xbox SSD with your Xbox One S.
@@seagate how much will be the difference in terms of loading time if Hdd vs ssd?
Bought one of the 2 terabyte drives broke within 2 weeks. Never touch after installation, then one day the light on the drive wasn't turning on when I turned on my xbox when I had a look on my laptop to see what was wrong with it it said a fatal device occurred really and I've look everywhere but everyone says that the drive is dead if you get a message like that which is disappointing I've sent it back for a refund and will not be buying a Seagate drive again.
Does these work for xbox series s and x?
They can be used to play Original Xbox, Xbox 360, and Xbox One titles on the Xbox X|S, but games optimized for Xbox Series X|S require the Xbox Velocity Architecture (which our new Storage Expansion Card for Xbox Series X|S supports).
Seagate ssd - can it be used on Xbox s??
Incase anyone was wondering, it works perfect and there is a big difference with loading times. Well worth it
Sophy it helps knowing that it worked but I’ve seen so many bad reviews on this is yours still working ?
Gabriel Ortiz hey yeah it’s good! I get quick loading times too :)
Gabriel Ortiz bad reviews are from people that haven’t had a great history with them. My dad has been a huge fan of seagate plus I have the 8 terabyte one for my x. And it still works
@@Sophgwen hich capacity you bought?
I don’t notice load times being slow or faster if that’s what gaming has come down to then might as well not get a new console
Does this work on xbox one

Yo I didn’t know you worked at segate
I buy hub the one has green light Strip on it got 8tb one pay 215 something
Thanks for the explanation!
This helped a lot thank you
That's great! We are happy to hear you found this helpful!
ssd speeds are now 1000 mb/second with newer ssd that have usb 3.2.
Xbox usb ports ate usb3.0,, wont help you, the port is governed
:( how about ps4 have no 8tb
My Seagate xbox external drive just died today. I don't think I got 2 years out of it. ugh...
Did u have your stuff backed up
jman7481 I used it for Xbox games. Thankful that the games can just be downloaded again.
Will usb 3.0 work
Hi, all of our Game Drives for Xbox have a USB 3.0 interface.
Would i get better performace ( multiplayer ) using a external hdd ?
I have both the 2 &8 hdd
The price isn't justified by the size of the ssd, sure it's fast but the lacking in size won't take much to fill up.
Yep. Bigger HDD (like 4TB) and just tranferring is worth it
Everything I needed to hear dam I'm year late on this information lol
why i am looking for a external hard drive is more for loading times then storage. some games take forever to load.
XB series X free space for games 802gb. But PS5 free space is 664gb is less that why Sony is in mute mode about PS5 !
Internal ssd is a much better choice
Plus this external ssds and hubs are just kinda crappy in the sense that it isn't an actual upgrade, not like opening up your Xbox and upgrading the HDD to an SSD.. Feels more like an extra attachment, that's it
Lower the cost of XB series SSDs . It read speeds is 2.4 GB/S . There are 7GB/S for 50$ cheaper than this offering the same amount of space .
220$ ans 350$ for wtb is just a rip off for this kind of drives
When they come out with the 8 gig SSD I’ll buy it until then I’m getting the 8 gig
Very Dumb Reply: ssd vs hd
Samsung T5 DOES NOT let you play next Gen games
The new xbox is gonna have a ssd that is 2.5 gig/s
Not worth it to me, I'll stick with hdd until the price per gig comes in parity with hdd, well that and other factors too.
@MATT CYPRESS I certainly did that quite awhile ago. A lot faster than I expected. I got one 6tb external for Xbox, a 2tb WD Black pairs with a 256GB Nvme M.2. Really happy with it too 😁.
I see some SSD that have read speeds ranging from 500 mbps up to 2000 mbps... is higher better, or is one speed better for xbox? please help@
SSD it better then the HHD then just wondering
Yes but more expensive
Don’t buy Seagate hard drives
They break so easily
I got one for Christmas and it broke in the first week
Don't drop it then.
I i have the Xbox ssd by seagate 8 terabyte game drive for my x still works
I’ve had mine plugged in for 3 years with no problems have you dropped it that could have destroyed the reading arm
you do know you just plug it in your xbox
Planned obsolescence, they are intentionally made weaker to get peeps off hdd, onto the more expensive ssd.
Hi! Is it compatible with PS4-
Hi there, we actually have game drives specifically designed for PS 4 systems: seagate.media/6058TUlSs
@@seagate Well, I meant this 8 TB Seagate external HDD. It has only XBOX logo on it, but it doesn't mean it won't work with PS4. The title may confuse a lot of people that this is only for Xbox.
Seagate 8 Tb hdd looks like Ps5
I got a 2TB Black seagate HDD got it on sale
I bought the 4tb
Thats 💯 % Not true. Sinds i have the 4tb external hard drive. Loading is mutch mutch faster
Its all about making more money. Not a big enough difference to pay twice as much for the same amount of storage
Got a series s love the console but the storage is a bit low so I went and got a 2tb hdd for 50 bucks, I'll get the expansion card once it's cheaper.
SSDs are pretty cheap even when this video was released. The newer ssd’s are extremely small and looks like a ram stick. Now they are expensive
thanks
seagate is heat
OR you buy a 2TB SSD for 120 bucks thats NOT Seagate.
WD self powered lasted 4 years...Seagate 5tb usb 3.0 on xbox one...2 years, warranty, 2 years 🤣🤦♂️
I have a seagate that's lasted well over 6 years and still going.. used it since the original xbox one
he is reading a script lol
Not going to be able to play off these for the new system hahah DONT buy them
not true, xbox series x still supports hard drives along with the new ssd
I have a Western Digital no way I'm ever getting Seagate junk 🤣
Seagate is better though lol 😂 I just looked it up the only thing wd has is quicker gameplay stuff. Seagate beats it everywhere else
