In this vlog I show that I still make mistakes, mainly due to laziness & bad decisions. Plus my laptop has completely died on me. Which has made it a struggle to get this vlog out to you! So I have had to use my phone and new software, so I hope it’s up to scratch.

Ashby is definitely a character Alan haha!
Aitch was built by Pat Buckle at Stibbington on the river Nene, for Roger at Calcutt. They'd keep his order book full between his private builds. They also built the Clipper class though there are obvious differences. I remember watching an early vid when you running cables and I saw the side door frame, I knew it wasn't one I'd built as I didn't add the extra moulding. Roger said at Pat's funeral he built 65 clippers for him over the years.

That’s boatlife my lovely. You get there when you get there. The Stratford canal is beautiful. The bridge holes are very narrow 🥴

Always the way things go wrong when other people are watching eh? But as you say seems like most people are nice and friendly and helpful.
You could be out in the middle nowhere and make a mistake. And someone will stick their head out of the bushes haha!
Hi Vince, don't sweat the off days I certainly had my share. My worst day was motoring into a lock on the Thames. I was last one in, everybody waiting for, slipped into reverse to slow to a stop only to find I'd lost reverse. Much hooting and hollerin' and help from other boaters saved the day. Like you nothing damaged but my pride. Shame you're not nearer I would have come up to sort your laptop. It's often something relatively simple and I very much doubt you lost your videos and programmes. Keep smiling Kevin.
Them off days are like water off of a ducks back Kevin, I’ve had too many of them to mention. I bet you laugh about that lock incident now. They make up our memories (better than sitting on our arses doing nothing) Thanks for the offer with the laptop, but it looks like I’m getting used to the phone stuff now! All the best Vince!
Hey Vince, Aitch is coming on well and taking her past her birth place reminded me when I took Lazy Days home to Castleford. The boatyard was looking after the small coal barges and tugs, the local pub landlord took interest and laid on a chip butty supper and invited some Dunkirk veterans and other British Legion members. Great night and took some of them for a chug along the canal the next day.
Don't do too each day cos you'll get fed up with and miss a bit. Sorry about you lap top going lap sap, happens to the best of us, mines falling to bit so I stuck it back together so good they can't open it.

I bet that was lovely taking the veterans out on your boat. The way that the weather has been over here, there’s not been a lot of time to do too much on the painting. I’ve just done little bits between the crappie weather haha!

This is why I always open both gate no boat or lock damage that way

I can say that because the first lock i ever entered, i went in so fast my mate thought i was coming out the over side. 🙂
Thank you that is so kind of you, but I never have a timeline I just move when I feel like it. That way it cuts out the stress! Since having the work done on the fuel tank, the tickover speed is a bit faster. Also it looks faster on the camera going into the locks. Once again thank you for the kind offer, all the best Vince!
Good work with the paint job Vince, you seem to be getting on with it, although the recent wet weather wouldn’t have helped. I’ve painted my starboard side but I do have to apply a gloss coat below the gunwale then it’ll be the port side! Never ends. All the best.
Thanks Paul. I’m not even halfway with the painting. Still got to finish the roof and the starboard side, haven’t even started the port side. The front and back of Aitch has to be done. And of course the gunwales. It sounds a lot but I will just keep chipping away at it when I can. All the best Vince!

@@NarrowboatCruisingLifestyle Morning Vince, we called it a day at the Two Boats Pub, it was getting a bit too hot, and a cold pint was in order.
We've just come up the Stratford from Evesham, on the Avon, there's a very nice village at Wooten Wawen with a lovely old pub, 15 minutes walk from the canal (The Bulls Head) highly recommended.
Yes, that day for a good natter, will happen we're sure.

Another great cruise Vince, sometimes you just have one of those day's 😏. " Aitch" looks so smart, paintwork looks great. As for Ashby he's a cheeky monkey, got to love him. They make thing's better at the end of a rubbish day. Nice bit of editing too. Hope luck improves with new scenery. K

Not every time but quite often when I get a camera out haha!
Just a though, if you still have your old laptop you might be able to remove the old hard drive and get an external case for it and when you get a new laptop you can connect the old hard drive to usb and access it from the usb drive, I am no expert but you might need to select boot from usb drive from bios, not sure if you can access it another way, I save all my old hard drives and use them as external storage drive, I think the case are less then a tenner on line,
