Accidental notes are not mistakes. They may not be part of the scale but when graced sparingly and judiciously, they add beauty to the composition. Haven't you heard of Added 7th, Added 9th, 11th, 13th chords? There more examples from RD Burman - Kya yahi pyar hai also has similar approach.

Don't try to sound knowledgeable when not required. For the guitarist it was a mistake because he didn't add this Open G note intentionaly. Listen what is spoken, understand, and then comment, if needed at all.

सही मायेने में यह कातिलाना गलती है. जब इस गीत की रिकार्डिंग की तैयारी चल रही थी तब किसी ने सोचा भी नहीं होगा कि एक गलती आगे चल कर इतनी बेमिसाल बन सकती है. भानू दा गुप्ता आपकी इस प्यारी सी गलती पर जो लोग हंस पडे उनकी आवाज बाद में बंद हो गई होगी. गीत की शुरुआती गिटार की काॅर्ड और उसके तुरंत बाद बजने वाली हरिप्रसाद जी चौरासिया की बासुरी सुनने वाले का दिलं जीत ही लेते हैं. पंचम दा की बनाई हुई धुन, किशोर दा की आवाज और फिल्म में काका (राजेश खन्ना) का लाजवाब अभिनय ! शक्ति दा ने नटराज स्टुडिओ में किया हुआ गीत का बेहतरीन फिल्मांकन ! लिखने के लिए शब्द ही नहीं हैं. और एक बात. यह 'करोडपती गीत' आनंद बक्षी साहब की कलम से कागज पर कैसे उतरा यह भी एक रोचक किस्सा है. इस वीडियो में गीत की कहानी बहुत ही रोचक ढंग से बताई गई है. इसलिए बहुत बहुत धन्यवाद !

This song is composed on Bhairavi. So I wonder how the song would have come alive without that note. A note which is the pakad of the song. The earlier chord without it sounds lifeless.
Suresh Murty was it planned to be composed in Bhairavi, as in were the musical notes of the main tune originally in Bhairavi, or was it because of this mistake that the composer then modified the existing tune originally in some other raaga,into Bhairavi?
