+Smaakjeks Kjeks Or if you live somewhere shitty. I know a number of people who were diagnosed as vitamin D deficient after moving to Scotland, due to the lack of sun. But then vitamin D deficiency ain't even too bad.

Why is this even an issue? Everyone where I live(Denmark) knows that vitamins are basically just there to supplement any deficiencies(most often in winter, when we don't get a lot of sun).
Same in England, I take vitamins (vitamin D mainly, plus some others) during the winter, and occasionally I take extra supplements if my doctor says I need to, also if I can't eat enough fruits.
+Karin KaPOW No one should even consider taking vitamin pills unless they have a specific health problem and are prescripted by a doctor. Who the hell are those people ?
Oh, and i also have a health problem with vitamin d12, that i cant receive it from sunlight. Probably because i grew in a cold, cloudy enviroment. Like N.Europe.
As a nutritional science major this video made me feel so many different things 😅 I can guarantee you that taking vitamins/minerals does not equate to being healthy in general. But for some people, mostly the the elderly and frequently females in general, their bodies can’t absorb vitamins as effectively as they would hope. For the average American, vitamin supplements are NOT necessary. For some, they can be beneficial. For others, they’re basically a godsend. But there are upper limits to how much you should consume through your diet and supplements, and consumption above that amount puts you at high risk for suffering the effects of toxicity for that particular vitamin/mineral. That applies to everybody. I agree that, for example, vitamin C can definitely not cure the common cold. But it’s irresponsible to portray all vitamins in such a negative light. That being said, I still love these videos and the lies & truths they expose 😊 I appreciate your work, keep it up!
That's not really the case, a lot of people have vitamin deficiency, it's just not so severe as to be a primary complaint when coming in to see the doctor. There has yet to be a diet devised that will get you all of the necessary vitamins while keeping to contemporary caloric requirements. A diet that would get you all the necessary vitamins, would make you obese as foods lack the necessary nutrient density to make it work.
A doctor (neurosurgeon) told me the body often times can't process vitamin pills, so they're essentially useless. Apparently eating fruit is way more effective even if you have deficiencies.
+Amanda Vadon True, if your diet is heavily lacking a nutrient then a supplement to bring it up to normal levels is a good idea. But as stated in the video, that's a rather extreme case these days. Overloading on vitamins can be a very bad thing though, as whatever your body doesn't need needs to be metabolized and filtered out by the liver and having to continually do so puts enormous strain on it. If you think you've got a vitamin deficiency due to poor diet, chance your diet a bit, if you think you have a vitamin deficiency due to something else like an illness or other medical reason, go see a doctor.
The title is misleading, it should say "The Weird Reason We Think Vitamin SUPPLEMENTS Are Good For Us . . . ". Vitamins ARE obviously good for you and even (as the video states) are essential for life, which is the definition of a vitamin.
And even supplements are useful in a lot of cases. Taking vitamin D supplements during winter is typically a good idea. Taking vitamin B12 is essential if you don't eat animal products. And taking other vitamins is probably useful for a lot of people as well, considering how common it is to have a horribly one-sided diet.
@@lenasandner4721 Exactly. Especially if you have a dark skin color and live way up north. Here in Finland in the winter we get less than 3 hours of sunlight at the minimum point. Those whose ethnic backgrounds are from northern areas have a lighter skin that is capable of producing more vitamin D for less sunlight, but those whose ethnic backgrounds are from the equator for example and have a darker skin color produce next to none vitamin D at all during that short period of time so they literally have to take supplements to get any. It being cold in the wintertime lessens that amount even further because people wear more clothing and the little sunlight doesn't even get to your skin in the first place.
Vitamins is short for Vital Amines as in amino acids that are essential for living. Over time the definition of a vitamin was somewhat expanded to include things which were other types of molecules, but by definition they are things that the body either cannot produce on its own or cannot produce in sufficient quantity on its own without supplementation. The main issue is when people take excessive amounts of vitamins hoping for additional benefit. With the exception of fat soluble vitamins like A, D, E and K, the rest are mostly passed out of the body along with the urine. They may still have some harmful effects anyways, but it's moderated by the fact that it dissolves in water and exits via urine.
@@lenasandner4721 A one sided diet makes no sense unless the person lives off PIZZA Daily for an entire life time could cause Problems indeed. Donuts with water would be more one sided but retards get treated.
@@lolmanmagee2785 A reference to Pitch meetings. Nice.... But some of the things that are being said in the comments... Are actually true. If you have an unhealthy or uneven diet, vitamin supplements are a necessity, because your body currently doesn't have what it should in vitamins.

As a board certified physician (M.D.), I'm concerned that this misleading viral video will make the public think vitamins are never necessary. Because of socio-economic factors (i.e., financial access to fresh vegetables and fruit), Americans may not meet their nutritional requirements with their diet alone and may in certain instances need supplementation for healthy function: for example, prenatal vitamins (folic acid and iron) during pregnancy, vitamin D and calcium in patients with osteopenia. Hope people watching this video will talk to their physician first before believing CollegeHumor.
Well said! Not only are socio-economics a factor, but lack of good info as well! Rich people can be taken in by fad diets that aren't good for them just as well as anyone, and veggies and fruits can be mishandled, or labeled "fresh" even when it's been sitting around for a few days, losing its nutritional potency. As Jackie Chan's "uncle" says in his cartoon, "You must do research!!"
I agree that there are limitations to Vitamins in pill form but I appreciated that your comment covered the real need for prenatal vitamins by women. I wish there was a follow up video that covered this aspect and benefits of vitamins.

Sarat Anandh I think you misunderstand Adam's argument, although I will note that he does not put it across very clearly. His is arguing against "mega supplement pills" for vitamins, deeming them over the top. I don't believe he is denouncing Vitamins, although it may seem like it, but rather taking a jab at the lengths people go to ensure they are all stocked up on Vitamins (ie spending 60 dollars for 3 weeks worth of Vitamin C Pills when you can spend less for the same effect by eating fruits)
AJ P Yeah, everyone has cancer cells inside them, no matter what, and they'll start replicating eventually. But if you died and the cells still haven't started replicating, you're good then.

But well made real vitamins are critical since the food you eat today has about a third of the vitamins that they had 50 years ago thx to corporate farming techniques.
I just saw, a case of Vitamin A overdose about two months ago. This woman not only consumed the pills on a daily basis 2 or 3 times a day, but also she had a friend make her a list of each food rich in VitA and made that her ONLY diet, barely any vegetables. She came in with pleural edema, fotosensitivity and a horrible rash that caused a necrosis around her lips and on the tip of her nose (wich almost had to be removed). She is almost blind, and when she was informed of the cause she claimed she was gonna sue the hospital "because they were trying to replace vitamins in the world with vaccines, and make everyone retarded". for everyone in the comments, if you are wondering whether you need to take/can take vitamin supplements, schedule a blood test that tests vitamin levels (and also iron, which is a common deficiency) with your doctor (if you can afford it), or just sit down and have a talk with them about your diet. the doctor will show you the results and tell you if you need to either be thinking about your vitamin intake in normal foods, need to take supplements and prescribe them to you, or whether you have too much of something (which is entirely possible). if you have the money and means to do this, it is a way better alternative than to just assume you're not getting enough and accidentally either hurting your body, or doing something useless.
The problem is that testing your vitamin levels is far more expensive than just buying the supplements... (I'm not recommending that you just take supplements on the assumption that you might need them)
I'm pretty sure you mean what thousands of people before you have said, and repeated, with multiple previous scientific evidence backing it up. You're certainly not the first person to say that.

+TLP lucky Why do you say that? They backed up their claim with scientific research, do the same and people might not regard you as a crazy person who denies science even when it's thrust in front of them.
+GlowInTheDark MC these videos are not educational! this is only partly true and is seen from a certain perspective. dont believe everything you see and hear in the media vitamins are essential to stay healthy. you have to consume a certain dosis of essential vitamins or you will get sick or die...but it is true that, if you eat healthy and balanced you are not in need for vitamin pills at all.
All the people getting mad in the comments: he's not saying don't take your prescribed vitamin supplements. Sometimes, there are cases where it makes sense to take them. But for the average human who's eating a fairly healthy diet and not doing any extreme exercise or anything, these vitamins won't do much to help you. Like some other people have said, you're just having an expensive excrement. So yes, if you live somewhere more northern that doesn't get a lot of sun and take supplements, that's okay. And if you have low iron (like my mother, three of my friends, and many other men and women) take supplements. Changes in diet can help, but if you're prescribed supplements, take them. Just don't buy vitamins and consume them like candy because you think they're the magical cure for everything. That's what the video is getting at. Because there are people who do this. The people who take supplements of every vitamin, even though they are not deficient in most if not any of them.
Exactly. Me and my fiance take them because we can't always eat properly, hes a truck driver so it helps him when hes stuck eating fast food, and helps me when I'm too busy to cook properly. Changing our diets would cure everything, that is very much true.
That's true, I was recently positive for a low af on vitamin B3/B6 and I had to buy suplements for it... After I took it the first night I slept like a baby and I stopped getting my hands cold and stuff... Is really something when you aren't getting your vitamins
He doesn't mention medical conditions at all, and the title literally states that vitamins aren't healthy. Contradiction and exaggeration for the sake of views. That's precisely the problem with his diatribes.
The title is very misleading. Just because (apparently) in America what people call “vitamins” is vitamin supplements, doesn’t mean you should remove the “supplement” part from the title especially when you explained the difference in the video. But I guess this may just be a video directed to Americans and as an Italian I just find it stupid… Here’s a suggestion: you could change “we” to “Americans” and “us” to “them” in the title.
Well the case is vitamin pills can be usefull for most of the ppl. If you eat perfectly you didnt really need vitamin pills, but someone, who didnt eat regularly and didnt eat healthy, really need them. Vitamins not cure for disease, but they incrase your durability against bacteriums, a cold and all sort of thing...
And let's face it, there's a lot of people who are not exactly what we would call healthy eaters - and if taking a vitamin supplement can benefit them health wise I'm all for it....!
+GorillaGuerilla your body absorbs around 20% of those vitamins supplements you take, and the rest comes out with urine. So it is really waste of money. Better eat healthy.
Vitamins are helpful in many ways for those that don't get the amount of nutrients they should be getting already. Consider the average college student, eating a few meals a day of generally simple carbohydrates, proteins, and fats. For the layman who eats maybe 3 bananas and two salads a week, a potassium supplement may be beneficial. Do they need 7g of potassium injected directly into their veins? No. Does it help to have a supplement to act as a buffer? Yes. It's true supplement companies go to some extreme lengths at times, still there is somewhat of a necessity for vitamin buffers.
If you are actually low enough on potassium that side effects show up, taking vitamin supplements won't help. They are only legally allowed to put in about 100mg per pill (it has issues with kidney diseases, some medications and things like that is why). You are far, far better off eating, say, a baked potato with the skin, eating some spinach, drinking a glass of orange juice, drinking a glass of milk or even drinking a glass of coconut water. Each of those gives over 4 times more (and the potato up to ten times more) potassium in a more enjoyable, useful way than a simple pill. Or, yeah, eat a banana. Those things are cheap. Funny thing. Those "Nature Made" supplements for potassium say something like 550mg on the front... but each pill only contains 90mg of potassium.
Exactly! Throughout my childhood, I was an extremely picky eater. I don't know why, but I think I read somewhere that people on the autism spectrum (like me) are selective eaters. I've expanded my palate now, but I'm still choosy about what I eat. Because of this, I've been taking vitamin supplements since I was a kid, and still do to this day. And it's worked out fine. The only times you should take vitamins is when you're

The only vitamin I use on a semi-regular basis is D vitamin. When you're prone to seasonal depression and live in an area that gets only few hours of sunlight a day during the dead of winter, it's a good addition. I suffer from moderate-to-severe depression anyway, so I'd rather be safe, because so often I've gone to school/work when it's pitch black and left when it's dark again, without catching a single ray of sunshine the entire day. It's full on night time by like 3pm.

I think it would've been good to at least make a passing reference to fringe examples where vitamins are necessary. For instance, I moved to Interior Alaska and in the winters we see very little sunlight. This contributes to lethargy, depression, and higher production of cortisol levels (not to mention the way it ruins your circadian rhythm.) Vitamin D helps tremendously with this.
There have been incidents of scurvy in the student community in my town. Students who live off frozen pizza and actually remove the little pieces of peppers that are on them. Vitamin supplements are useless, unless your diet itself is useless.

My former boss, who was a doctor, actually brought some vitamin C to the office during winter to prevent his employees from getting sick. I was quite disappointed about a doctor not knowing his stuff and took none of the vitamin C. Although very rare, vitamin deficiencies can also occur in industrialized countries, but if there is one vitamin we really got enough of, it's vitamin C. That shit is in everything. Vitamin D is different than other vitamins, as it doesn't really come from the diet, and is more of a hormone than anything. I would definitely take vitamin D if you don't get a lot of sun.
Taking Vitamin D does almost nothing- it needs to be turned into its active state by UV exposure, so you need the sun (or other appropriate UV light). You can't ingest the active form. That's why you'll find photos of submarine crew being exposed to artificial UV light- they need it- tablets won't do a thing... probably: Vitamins A, D, E and K are all lipid (fat) soluble, which means your body can store them easily. That means they're the vitamins you really have to watch out for overdosing on if you are taking supplements. It's probably good that those tablets you're eating are actually doing nothing.
That's not accurate... I've had my active vitamin D tested before and after supplementing and it definitely changed. You're not going to "overdose" on vitamin D by taking 1000 or 2000 IU a day.

Vitamins supplements are not completely useless. They do nothing if you live a healthy life and eat normally, but if you lack some vitamins because of your lifestyle, supplements can be good. For example, I am almost always in the dark, and not getting sunlight means producing less vitamin D, supplements can help with that.
+Metsuryu They most certainly do not "do nothing" (sorry for the double negative). Anything in excess can be extremely harmful, especially when it comes to anything that your body needs, such as nutrients.
Interesting fact about B carotene. It was found that people who had more B carotene in their blood were healthier (less cancer + heart disease I think), and then people drew the conclusion that B carotene itself must be good and you should supplement with it. However the higher levels of B carotene in the blood were from eating a greater amount of fruits and vegetables, which was the real benefit. Like you said B carotene supplements themselves were found to be harmful.

Well I had covid and vitamin supplements cured it in 4 weeks and 2 weeks on an oxygen tank but it was totally only the supplements That cured it
Tbh I think he is refering to the ppl that take vitamins without a doctor recomending it
You lost me when you mentioned 'frequently females'.
A doctor (neurosurgeon) told me the body often times can't process vitamin pills, so they're essentially useless. Apparently eating fruit is way more effective even if you have deficiencies.
vitamins may not cure anything, but if you're a person who doesn't eat a nutritional diet then supplements are better than nothing.
Hey man have a great day
+No Google I don't want to use my real name Good thing there isn't a lack of unintelligent idiots on UA-cam huh?
+Amanda Vadon True, if your diet is heavily lacking a nutrient then a supplement to bring it up to normal levels is a good idea. But as stated in the video, that's a rather extreme case these days. Overloading on vitamins can be a very bad thing though, as whatever your body doesn't need needs to be metabolized and filtered out by the liver and having to continually do so puts enormous strain on it. If you think you've got a vitamin deficiency due to poor diet, chance your diet a bit, if you think you have a vitamin deficiency due to something else like an illness or other medical reason, go see a doctor.

+Generation Cinema nope
Maximus C. Yup.
+Generation Cinema He did mention in the full episode of this video that even experts can be wrong.
But they won't cure anything other than diseases caused by lack of vitamins

I wish there was a follow up video that covered this aspect and benefits of vitamins.

...Except with the shit most Americans eat in their regular diets, vitamins supplements have become necessary.
Eat a healthy balanced diet and you won't need vitamins... you also won't need a doctor.
+Artbug that's totally true, my friends eat a lot of junk food or have unbalanced diets and they get ill all the time; meanwhile, i eat homemade food (wich is not only healthier but also cheaper where i live) and i haven't gotten ill in almost a year or so, so the only doctor i see is a dentist
+Artbug There are rare people that eat a healthy balance diet nowadays, so vitamins are still recommended
+Artbug artificial everything, dried tasteless mystery meat patties and paper tasting lettuce at mcdonalds. isn't that enough? if eaten 1000 times?
Why Americans? Wtf
for everyone in the comments, if you are wondering whether you need to take/can take vitamin supplements, schedule a blood test that tests vitamin levels (and also iron, which is a common deficiency) with your doctor (if you can afford it), or just sit down and have a talk with them about your diet.
the doctor will show you the results and tell you if you need to either be thinking about your vitamin intake in normal foods, need to take supplements and prescribe them to you, or whether you have too much of something (which is entirely possible).
if you have the money and means to do this, it is a way better alternative than to just assume you're not getting enough and accidentally either hurting your body, or doing something useless.
The problem is that testing your vitamin levels is far more expensive than just buying the supplements... (I'm not recommending that you just take supplements on the assumption that you might need them)

But... Joe Rogan says vitamins are good.
I get it, but the way he is presenting his argument is misleading
He doesn't mention medical conditions at all, and the title literally states that vitamins aren't healthy. Contradiction and exaggeration for the sake of views. That's precisely the problem with his diatribes.
The title is very misleading. Just because (apparently) in America what people call “vitamins” is vitamin supplements, doesn’t mean you should remove the “supplement” part from the title especially when you explained the difference in the video. But I guess this may just be a video directed to Americans and as an Italian I just find it stupid…

It's full on night time by like 3pm.
so none of this explains why not to take vitamins. Most overdoses require excessive amounts to achieve. It is very hard to overdose.

Both right wing and left leaning TV shows love bringing on the most absurd people to argue with, and then when the person says nothing, they just laugh and say "That's who disagrees with us! Isn't it obvious! He's wrong!" And people actually think that it is educational.
So he's gonna make fun of Dr Oz?
+Evan Gragg I should hope so; the man was unabashedly lying and on the same news channel that reported it, they then started gushing about his latest recommendation.
+Evan Gragg He alluded to Oz's fame and lack of expertise with "alt medicine" when the doctor was asked where he got his degree (from Oprah)
+Evan Gragg Doctor Oz used to give real advice when he was on Oprah. But now that he has to give people half an hour of content once a week, his show has deteriorated dramatically. He really gives out either pseudoscience or advice based upon minimal evidence. He has also has become the king of exaggerators.
+Anders Ledell From what I understand, Dr Oz was a renowned surgeon. It is sad that he sold out to the Oprah crowd.
+RickMakes He was great. Now he spreads nonsense
I think it would've been good to at least make a passing reference to fringe examples where vitamins are necessary. For instance, I moved to Interior Alaska and in the winters we see very little sunlight. This contributes to lethargy, depression, and higher production of cortisol levels (not to mention the way it ruins your circadian rhythm.)
Vitamin D helps tremendously with this.
Vitamins are only good when you’re severely lacking and your doctor tells you to take specific ones.
There have been incidents of scurvy in the student community in my town. Students who live off frozen pizza and actually remove the little pieces of peppers that are on them. Vitamin supplements are useless, unless your diet itself is useless.
Sushiirull Not much.. not enough. It's extreme in any case. You can't eat any fruit, can't drink any juice.
"just eat a lemon...ever"
When it panned to Linus 😂😂
so, it's not that vitamins are good for you, but instead a lack of a vitamin is bad for you.
Love adam ruins everything. Totally exposes the false truths in our daily lives.
"He totally changed the game
We had no idea how crazy he was
and 40 years later we're still hummin' the tunes"
Yep, pretty much sounds like MJ
"candy shaped like cartoon characters" hey that sounds like a drug abused in my country! Ecstasy pills!
The most unrealistic part of this show is how open minded the characters are
Adam: Who gave you a medical license?
Then Adam, w/o a med license, proceeds to talk about medical issues...
This is fallacious, the difference is, that Adam does not pretend to be an expert. And he is constantly citing sources.
If I, as a biologist, suddenly tell you that elephants don't exist, you know that's a crock of dung. The fact is that Adam has done his research and sources people WHO DO HAVE THOSE QUALIFICATIONS and have proven that bad medical practise is behind this information. This means he doesn't need a medical license to tell you that some people that do have one are absolute lying hacks.
It's even used as preservative agent in many processed food...
Thank you for including the part about the vitamins that can make you sick! I have IIH & I use to take vitamin A supplements when I was young (I didn't know any better,I thought it was good for my eyes & skin) & my Dr thinks that that's a small part of why I have IIH now (its caused by a lot of small things going wrong all at once).
Emphasis on "a small part". Vitamins A D E and K can be stored in the body as fat. The others, you simple pee out. So yes, you can theoretically accumulate levels so high it can cause harm. You'd have to eat about x30 the recommended supplements everyday for at least a year. Tablets are usually around 2,500 mcg I believe? You'd need 10,000 per kilogram.
@@pyromaniac37238 It's like you rephrased exactly what I said to try to say something new. Lmao
@@KelseysWonderland11 was trying to make the point that you have to try REALLY hard to take enough vitamins to harm your body and you shouldn't just blanket vitamin supplements as harmful and a marketing ploy, but sure...what do med students know.
My take on vit A C D E supplements, is the synthetic forms can be useful temporarily, but vit A C D E complexes food sourced, are an irreplaceable go to for sustaining health.
This one had an amazing production!
I like vitamin C supplements. They taste good.
+Noah Weisbrod
And those are water-soluble, so too much of them doesn't even matter at all.
+carultch Actually, it does not prevent kidney stones, I was wrong.
+Noah Weisbrod And that's all they are, candy.
Alladin 550 Actually, I was wrong.
+Maxim T Potvin Actually no that was disproven vitamin C actually prevents and dissolves kidney stones you are giving out faulty information. orthomolecular.org/resources/omns/v09n05.shtml
My mom still watches dr. oz even though I tell her that it's mainly a for profit thing. Idek what to do at this point lmao
"It's bad, you know it."
*Micheal Jackson Music Plays*
That origami airport was amazing though
I take a supplement of vitamin D, because I don't eat fish and don't go out into the sun, as often as I probably should.
me too, i have dark half moons under my eyes
Vitamin D is different than other vitamins, as it doesn't really come from the diet, and is more of a hormone than anything. I would definitely take vitamin D if you don't get a lot of sun.
Taking Vitamin D does almost nothing- it needs to be turned into its active state by UV exposure, so you need the sun (or other appropriate UV light). You can't ingest the active form. That's why you'll find photos of submarine crew being exposed to artificial UV light- they need it- tablets won't do a thing... probably:
Vitamins A, D, E and K are all lipid (fat) soluble, which means your body can store them easily. That means they're the vitamins you really have to watch out for overdosing on if you are taking supplements. It's probably good that those tablets you're eating are actually doing nothing.
Jeff Thomson I've never heard of that before.
Do you have some links for some more info about it? :)
That's not accurate... I've had my active vitamin D tested before and after supplementing and it definitely changed. You're not going to "overdose" on vitamin D by taking 1000 or 2000 IU a day.
"no one needs to load up on cats"

looks at circle of cats, closing in on me
i don't think you understand.
fur... is in my blood
i cough up hairball on a regular basis
hack cough choke
I take vitamin supplements because I have a poor diet lol
Everyone in my state is getting sick rn. Including my brokers, girlfriend, dad, dad's girlfriend, grandma, girlfriends parents, etc. I've been around all of them and I haven't gotten sick. I usually get sick this time of year. But I've been taking vitamin C and D dialy. Correlation? Probably

Why are your booing me?
I'm right.
Do a frickin Google search this guy is lying.
I learned this stuff in my life science class. It's a sad world we live in where this information isn't known by the public. Thank you for the facts.
+Usrinam I'm surprised it was in your class. High school, university or college?
+ThePharphis Sounds like a highschool class, we had something like that required in highschool.
ThePharphis State college. It's just a requirement to become a Fireman.
Usrinam Cool. Thanks for answering
0:44 why isn't that security guard doing anything?
Magic TV powers
I absolutely love these 5-ish minutes of random trivia that actually has an impact on people's lives.
I had really serious health problems due to vitamin B12 and vitamin D shortage also I eat normal (the vitamin D is a problem.of me not liking to go in the sun ) so I got 2 different medications and got better after a few days ..
Also there is a professor (sadly I don't know the name but if you search for the topic you'll find him ) he got un treatable cancer when he was 60 and he used high dosages of vitamin C i.v. and lived until 90 ..with the cancer ..he wrote some extremely good studies about the topic ..
Telling the people who don't have the possibility of just lack of information to JUST EAT RIGHT is absolutely stupid and even dangerous ..
Vitamin supplements can be good in many cases ..and like anything they can also be bad in some ..it depends on the dosage ..
Saying all of these are bad and only existing that the organization producing them make money is BS
i could use more cats. have 2 already
Urban Kitsune thats a dangerous road to follow fam
Get more cats... I personally want a million cats at least... no, a billion cats!!! Muhahahahhaha!!!
I had the same situation and adopted two more, i'm in heaven
So much money wasted at GNC....
But I love gmc cars
+Smiles Yeah. So that ig Pharma who has been trying to patent Vitamins for the past 50 years can tell you vitamins aren't good for you. But their toxic pills are. Don't eat better and equalize your system. Let us shoot toxic waste into your blood stream until your tongue falls out.
What he said in this video is factually inaccurate. Sad that people will actually believe it.
On another note. Did you hear that Marijuana kills rain cells?...
+JRMCNEA I can provide anecdotal evidence that marijuana is bad for your brain. Just talk to my wife's siblings for a half hour or so and you'll believe it too.
My last display name was too long
Dumb people exist. Don't blame it on weed.
+My last display name was too long While under the influence of marijuana, it does negatively impact the functionality of your mind. However, so do many over-the-counter medicines, and they are not "bad for your brain." This isn't to say marijuana is fine for you, but currently, all that's known for sure is that it can help a lot with some mental disorders (most commonly depression) and smoking it is bad for your lungs.
I took a vitamin while watching this.
I love the format of these videos
Vitamins supplements are not completely useless. They do nothing if you live a healthy life and eat normally, but if you lack some vitamins because of your lifestyle, supplements can be good. For example, I am almost always in the dark, and not getting sunlight means producing less vitamin D, supplements can help with that.
+Metsuryu He said exactly this in the video
ThePharphis
I guess I missed it.
Why are you always in the dark. Are you a vampire? Or batman?
Rashotcake Or you live in the frozen north with only 4 hours of foggy light every day
+Metsuryu They most certainly do not "do nothing" (sorry for the double negative). Anything in excess can be extremely harmful, especially when it comes to anything that your body needs, such as nutrients.

Solo is the key word there
You forgot to mention the Beta Carotine crisis! People went crazy about Beta Carotine and then it started destroying their heart valves! 0.0
don't forget omega 3 fish oil, very similar situation.
that because people were taking excess fish oil , a small bit doesn't hurt you
or the guy who died from ingesting an insane amount of carrot juice
Interesting fact about B carotene. It was found that people who had more B carotene in their blood were healthier (less cancer + heart disease I think), and then people drew the conclusion that B carotene itself must be good and you should supplement with it. However the higher levels of B carotene in the blood were from eating a greater amount of fruits and vegetables, which was the real benefit. Like you said B carotene supplements themselves were found to be harmful.
*****
Medical science doesn't reject supplements completely, but their recommended uses are just very limited. Like you say; if you are lacking a certain nutrient, just eat more fruit. If that still doesn't work, see a doctor.
Some people live in food deserts in merica.Vitamins are needed.
I love this show :D
+The Octagon Master with Super Saiyan Vader Cruise Yeah, it blows my mind every time.
I know ADAM IS THE BOMB

As with most things, this holds true for healthy people! If you are not a healthy person and have a deficiency, take the vitamin you're low on!
Captain is this true?
wait wrong website
lol
Here's a potato.
KIBRSIFR now i just need a dickbutt and i'll be able to make youtube great again
Yup. * Flys away *
That is if our gracious queen permits it
“It’s basically just bubbles.” That is the first time in ARE that I’ve said “WHAT?!” out loud. The placebo effect is SO interesting. I would drink cups of water with airborne tablets and start to feel better. I don’t know if it will work anymore with this new knowledge, but it worked then, and the belief that it worked would be strong enough for me to disagree with the facts if I was a dumber person and didn’t know about the placebo effect. Damn. Thank you, Adam.
I am probably 9 months late, but, studies have shown that both our brains and the brains of everyone else are dumb! Because in a few studies conducted on the placebo effect, the placebo effect still took place even when participants were TOLD it's a placebo beforehand!
Do carbonated water next
+Joe Dirt Why?
+Joe Dirt some people like it bubly
+guy random (someone with common sense) yeah, what is it about carbonated water? are there people that think it's healthy or something?
carbonated water= sparkling water
+Lelouch Vi Britannia Isn't it just for the bubbly effect nothing else?
That explains why my grandpa was healthy as hell and forced me not to eat any vitamin pills except from actual fruits and vegetables
?? He forced you not to have vitamin pills except from fruits and vegetables? Fruits and vegatables don't have pills. Pills are manufactured.
grammar fault, m8.
lemme correct: "That explains my why grandpa was healthy as hell and forced me not to eat any vitamin pills and instead eat actual fruits and vegetables."
there u go
"When I take Vitamin C , I feel better!" -Awwwwww! LOL This statement is soo true! hahaha!
I was actually very surprise that my high school teach this. Seeing that many people don't know really making me asking about the school education there.
