- How wide is TOO wide for a gaming monitor?! I finally got my hands on the new Samsung Odyssey OLD G9, after WEEKS of delays. This is my first ever OLED monitor - and it did not disappoint! In this video we go over the specs, installation, and test this new monitor with some games!

I plan on buying a new monitor next weekend amd I'm torn between buying the g9 OLED and the 57" neo. Originally I was dead set on the 57" Neo, but after finding out that it can't run 8k (4k time 2) on nvidia graphics cards currently, I'm kind of leaning more towards the OLED now. That's not the only reason, though. The OLED will have a better response time and better contrast and color accuracy as well. I'm running a 4090 and a Ryzen 7 7800X3D and as curious as I am to see how the current best gaming GPU and CPU on the current market handle the 8k res, unfortunately that doesn't seem to be an option on Nvidia cards at the moment.
@@Party_Hotdogthe 57” and 49” Neo have a 1000r curve, which is tighter than the 1800r on the OLED version. It means you’ll move your neck more with the oled version. Personally I wouldn’t buy the oled just for that reason
just stack 2 49 for better overall quality. Only way 57 alone is better if you want/need full screen of the monitor but cant fully utilize it atm either way.
Just got mine last week from Best Buy. Yes, it’s definitely a “want” lol. Overall I gave mine a 9.5/10.

You are absolutely right! You have a good eye 👀 the counter tops are the Karlby butcher blocks from ikea and the drawers are the Alex drawers! I saw the 57” and looks absolutely beautiful too!

use a display port and tweak your gpu settings, that’s what makes it act up
Just picked this up for 999 on Amazon. Well worth it at that price.
Lucky, cheapest I saw was $1049 at Samsung but it’ll be best buy for sure for me if I buy one for geek squad warranty since they cover burn in.

The one thing you missed is how the backlight bleeds or doesn’t bleed when you play a game while not in ultra wide that’s something I’d be interested in knowing.

If you believe there isn't a lot of room for visual enhancement in Minecraft, I strongly recommend giving RTX a shot.

My Eyes are very sensitive and whenever I use LG monitors I start to have headaches and eye strain but with Samsung Monitors theres no problem, I dont know what Samsung did to their monitors but yeah its better.

You’re absolutely right - I worded that poorly! Valorant WILL work - the resolution will just be cut down drastically with the black bars
