there's no crowd, no ambience, no encouragement from anywhere, and yet this band kicks the fkn ass out of the thing... that friends is what The Cult is all about.
This gig was in conjunction with their first world tour and they were ON FIRE! Ian Astbury is one of THE COOLEST SINGERS EVER! What a voice! He is gorgeous!
Hey back in 1987, it was a choice of listening to "hair" metal bands with make up on or listen to this? 36 years later I am watching this video in 2023....
That's some Lemmy bass chord stuff going on behind the solo! Makes sense because it is actually being played live, no 2nd guitar track like on the album.
Damn. Great live version all around. Saw them in concert twice but they never sounded this good. Still, they should have been touring in the early years with a hired gun playing rhythm guitar to fill out the sound. That was my main complaint after seeing them open for Metallica in 89. I wish Ian could still sing like this but like most other vocalists, the damage gets done along the way.
LIVE MUSIC !!!!! CULT ROCKS IN 2024....
Wtf that's like saying g....COOKED FOOD...TACO BELL!

There'd be less conflict and division in this world if there was more power chords played with passion like this.
You are so right.
The chorus guitar riff is genuinely one of the best ever.
100% one of the greatest riffs.
Still kicks 30 years later!!
That’s the best live tv sound I ever did hear.
Ian comes in two bars early with “check this one.” Decides to kill the song live anyway. Underrated band.
This ladies and gentleman what is known as rock.
YES SIR!!!!
Absoblooodylutely! True rock and roll!
As Ian Astbury said..'Were just Punk Rockers with Long Hair'.
Aaahhhh high school. Driving around town in my buddy's car. smoking cigarettes. Trying to look cool. Cult blasting on the stereo. Those were the days.
Talk about in their Prime!!!! Billy Duffy was/is incredible!!!
Who could not like this ??? Boys and girls, this is rock n roll.
It was my sophomore year and I had the opportunity to see you guys open up for Billy Idol…
They BLEW UP THE STAGE!
Yes, I saw Billy Idol and The Cult at the sports arena in San Diego CA in 1987.. great show
I sure miss real music like this.
I saw them in CC concert way back in the days . And the opening band for them was : Guns n Roses
Gorgeous sound and singing by Ian...and Billy's riffs are cutting through steel...such an excellent band!
Back when Ian sang (almost) all the words.
I've never seen the. Live, but I'm guessing by your comment that Ian suffers from VinceNeilLive Syndrome.
Back when this type of music ROCKED !!
Wow what an incredible smoking version of Love Removal Machine!
Use to love playing this song while driving... it's so special.
That Guitar tone is just kicking Ass!👍
I agree.acdc vibe all over with guitar riffs. Just love the lead singer ....so powerful.
What a bass line in this song and Ian Astbury is magnificent
Jeezus!! Billys Guitar has some bite! What a tone, so cutting.
Agreed, LP standard with pick guard...not his usual for sure. If not the falcon, usually see a custom sans the pg in his hand.
He stepped up to a Gibson......
Boogie !!!!!!
This is a great song.
BEST Ian, BEST Billy - amazing clip
This was groundbreaking in 1987.
This killer song always rocked solid 100%.
First few minutes - Now this is fucking rock music.
3:30 - NOW THIS IS FUCKING ROCK MUSIC
Killer performance.
_Now this is Rock!!!!!!!!!!!_
You know what I mean, boy...... You fell from the sky.

Classic song.

Saw them with guns n roses and they opened opened for g n r.
Finally Duffy picks a guitar that makes sense
I saw them in 1989, in Atlanta, with Steve Jones, of the Sex Pistols.
Biloxi MS same tour with Metallica.
this must have been right around the same time they filmed the video as they were all sporting the exact same hair styles
I am SO there tomorrow night!
if this does not turn you on then i don't know what will
rocking
If you lived in the 80s and didn't listen to the cult, you didn't LIVE in the 80s
Les is rock solid and hitting so crisply here. Ian & Billy really sh*t on him the following year.
Dig the vibe
Wonderfull
Great

Que buen video amigo y este donde lo tenias??? a favoritos .
Fucking hell, this is soooo good.
Well that was fucking awesome
Takes ya face off
What do you think Billy is doing on the floor when the chorus kicks in? Disengaging his OD pedal?
adding delay id say...as it wouldnt work on the verses
En la bateria makalakesh...
Want to learn to play 🎸
Sounds thin, but then again I pretty much listen to the PEACE version, because I'm not a fan of Electric.
Great White's version is a real knucklefucker
Love the Cult, and love this track however worst sounding precision i think i have ever heard
winner of the worst bass guitar tone possible
wat
