I just realized I refer to my cat as “little honey” because of The Cult 😂 funny how music, film etc from our childhood etch their way into our consciousness and personality ..
The Cult are awesome and should be in there, but I mean, come on, The Cure are one of the most successful and influential bands of that era. They are iconic
I'm 55 and this song is still as good as the day it was released lastime I seen the cult was early 90s at the Seattle arena these guys brought the house down by far one of the best out of a multitude of concerts I've been to so far in my life time they should have been way more famous than they were given credit for
The cult gets overlooked a lot for being one of the few rock bands that played good music and not succumbing to the hair metal style of music in the 80's. Everyone knows Metallica, Iron Maiden, Slayer, Mercyful Fate and others were churning out excellent music without following the hair metal trend, but the Cult was truly a Rock n' Roll force for good in those days and deserves more credit.
Blizofoz45 Most people have heard a few songs by them on the radio, but have no idea who sang them as if they were a one hit wonder type of band. I wish they were recognized for being a truly unique rock band.
Nate Elliott well I don't know we're every body was when the cult first came out but I am so glad I was listening to them phenomenal band and no they the cult didn't get the exposure they deserved🎤🎸

This is the song that will get me a speeding ticket...
Ian Astbury not only has the voice...he has everything else going on for him. Billy and Ian make a great team, their music has had a great impact on my life...it has got me through some very dark times in my life .Through divorce, sickness(cancer)and just everyday bullshit i can always count on the cult.Rock on!!!
Makes me feel like a cat on a hot tin shack - I'm a great grandmother now and have always, absolutely, positively LOVED this song! I could listen to it 24/7 - best driving down the road song ever!
They got a lot of love during the 80s. Unfortunately, they’ suffered a similar fate of most good rock hard rock bands going into the 90s - and Ceremony was largely ignored due to lack of marketing and focus on grunge. Only a few already huge (Guns ‘n Roses and Metallica are two) bands that weathered that era.
These guys, The Sisters of Mercy, and Depeche Mode were all distinct (and often experimental) "flavors" of British Gothic Rock in the mid to late 80's and early 90's. You can see that Ian took the band further into the Hard Rock from '85 onwards, and he seriously kicks ass. I love these bands and their sound. They really made my young adulthood better than what it could've been without them.
They were largely underrated by rock-and-roll critics---but Jimi Hendrix,Black Sabbath ,ZZ Top and a long list of other GREAT BANDS were dismissed by critics. Just goes to show how little sense they have.
That guitar intro..... is like a warning chime for "Shut up and get ready to ROCK!" Have seen these guys live twice - one of the loudest bands I have ever seen/heard live. Unforgettable.
Ian dance moves are so dope and his voice is amazing and I think one of the best in all of rock n roll, when will the cult go into the hall of fame? This group was one of my all time favorites.
Interestingly there our new bands making music that sounds very much like old bands. But you can't blame them! And some of those are making good songs.
OMGosh! So glad I lived through the 80's and the BEST MUSIC EVER! Ian, yum and love his hair too! Moved to the SF Bay Area in 1981 from DC and never knew what good concerts were until then. Oh would we love to go back to that time!!! What a great place to be too for seeing Bands live... San Francisco and the Bay Area!!

I'm 55 and this song is still as good as the day it was released lastime I seen the cult was early 90s at the Seattle arena these guys brought the house down by far one of the best out of a multitude of concerts I've been to so far in my life time they should have been way more famous than they were given credit for
The Cult were, are, and will remain musically immense for the rest of their lives. Many thanks to them.
61.5 years young myself and still cannot get enough of Cult Music ❤ just saw them live at The Parker Ft Lauderdale... f'n ROCKED!!! WOW
I’m the same age and totally agree . They’re the only hair band of that era that I still love .
Rock on
I'm so envious you saw them live!
Your never too young or old for the Cult... good music is eternally good.
I'm 30 years old and my dad got me into this and can't stop listening to it the cult are amazing ❤
How I loved his style and dance, voice,Hair
For those about to rock, we salute you .... the Cult are simply magnificent
I love the album Sonic Temple. They made a perfect rock and roll album that has stood the test of time. This song is a rock masterpiece.
Most definitely. They had a sound of their own too.
Blizofoz45 Most people have heard a few songs by them on the radio, but have no idea who sang them as if they were a one hit wonder type of band. I wish they were recognized for being a truly unique rock band.
Nate Elliott they did love the Cult
Barbara Pence
What I mean is they deserve a larger presence. Most people have probably heard one of their songs, but have no idea who sang it.
Nate Elliott well I don't know we're every body was when the cult first came out but I am so glad I was listening to them phenomenal band and no they the cult didn't get the exposure they deserved🎤🎸
This is the song that will get me a speeding ticket...
U said it brother
This band is so underrated it makes me cry...
Not by this character
Was on a plane flying from San Francisco to Hawaii and my friend bought a Walkman I bought this cassette one of the best flights of my life
Never underrated...they were huge back in the day.
One of my favorite bands. I don't care about peoples opinions about the Cult. This band just connected with me on so many levels.
Angelena Dev Hell yeah they are brother!!!!!
Ian Astbury not only has the voice...he has everything else going on for him. Billy and Ian make a great team, their music has had a great impact on my life...it has got me through some very dark times in my life .Through divorce, sickness(cancer)and just everyday bullshit i can always count on the cult.Rock on!!!
music is power brother especially when provided by the cult
Amen brother👍
And very easy on the eyes damn he's definitely a dime piece
Still one of the best rock songs of ALL TIME PERIOD
Agreed
I totally agree. Its going down as one of the great classics
I agree👍
Yep 👏👍
You are leaving out Love Removal Machine
Gets no better. Gets. No. Better.
Makes me feel like a cat on a hot tin shack - I'm a great grandmother now and have always, absolutely, positively LOVED this song! I could listen to it 24/7 - best driving down the road song ever!
Great Granddad here and thoroughly agree :)
My foot presses the gas pedal on this song
These guys are criminally underrated. I've worn out 5 copies of Sonic Temple.
Fuck yeah, true believer
Yep 👍
Especially loud.
what do you want?...for them to be on the front page next to the Kardashians ? come on now..get lit
Mr. Astbury has always ROCKED the shit out of everything.
What a singer!
This song will never get old!
OK DOGEWOOD MATE
Ding! Ding! CHEERS!
One of the most underrated bands ever... 53yr old and I'm still turning it up to 11 !!!
They were never underrated they were massive world wide🤘 😎🤙
They were largely underrated by rock-and-roll critics---but Jimi Hendrix,Black Sabbath ,ZZ Top and a long list of other GREAT BANDS were dismissed by critics. Just goes to show how little sense they have.
@Chuck Wettish
Yes,THOSE CRITICS. Magazines such as Guitar Player and Guitar World rightly praised them.
Me too........

L. Crandall ;)

He ages really well
yeah, that drummer is cool looking! 3:57
Ian dance moves are so dope and his voice is amazing and I think one of the best in all of rock n roll, when will the cult go into the hall of fame? This group was one of my all time favorites.
2020 and still listening the Cult, no doubt one of the greatest Rock Band Ever..and also the most underrated... Cheers from Easter Island - Chile.
This song must make the island's famed statues crack a wicked smile!
Wow!! Too bad we have no more music like this from today's bands.
Interestingly there our new bands making music that sounds very much like old bands. But you can't blame them! And some of those are making good songs.
@@TheStonedZone this is so very sad but also very true
It's f@#$ing just sad music for the most part has gone to shit!!!
Nah fuck off mate. "New music sucks". YOU JUST DONT KNOW WHERE TO FIND GOOD FUCKING MUSIC.
Check out The Answer or Crobot some time.

You wouldn’t be wrong. It’s hands down one of the 50 greatest rock songs of all time.
Beavis and Butt-head approved
50 years old and I’ve agreed with that statement longer than you’ve been alive.

Dude 100% and somehow I heard it for the first time only a few years ago.
I’m 87 yrs old I use this song to power my wheel chair.
Is that the wheelchair that's been clocked at 12.000 MPH

Oh fuck off with your "underrated". Bull-bloody-shit
Per me non sono stati mai sottovalutati sono conosciuti in tutto il mondo hanno fatto da tutte le parti concerti
You have a bizarre idea of what "underrated" means...
He/they are stellar, he always reminded me of a cross between Jim Morrison and Steve Tyler. He has awesome stage presence and can SING !!!! He's still sounding great today !!
One of the most underrated rock songs that there ever was
267 years old today and still rocking to the Cult!
