I DID A EXPERIMENT ON A AWESOME CAKE/HOW DID IT TURN OUT/OLD SCHOOL HONEY BUN CAKE/FRIDAY NIGHT CAKE

- OLD SCHOOL HONEY BUN CAKE
This is my very first time making this awesome cake,its very moist gooey and delicious
RECIPE:
2 & 1/4 cup ap flour
1 1/2 cup sugar
1 TBL baking powder
1 cup sour cream
1/4 cup veg oil
1 stick butter softened
1 TBL vanilla
2 eggs
2 egg yolks
FILLING:
1cup brown sugar
2 tsp cinnamon
GLAZE:
2 cups powdered sugar
3 TBL milk
2 tsp vanilla
Preheat oven to 350° Grease a 9x9 baking pan( i used a 9x13 which is fine as well)
Mix the softened butter, sour cream, oil vanilla and eggs.
Add on flour sugar and baking powder.
Pour 1/3 of Batter in baking pan top all of the filling. And then the rest of the batter.
Bake for 45 minutes. Cool completely
Mix all Glaze ingredients and pour over cooled cake.

I mixed all my ingredients in my cake batter. Baked it at 325 degrees. It was so good.😋 I bake it around Mardi Gras time. I call it a Queen Cake. 😂 I decorate it like a King Cake. Thanks for sharing. Chef Jeff, you are the best. That cake looks so good and boy I wish I had the White Lily flour to bake with. When I had my small beauty shop many years ago I had a customer who was from North Carolina and when she would go home for a visit I would have her get me a bag. I can’t find it in any of the stores here in Ohio. I could order it on line but then I would be baking more than I should and because I am heavy my sugar likes to go up and down. Wish I were your neighbor so that I could get a piece of cake and then be good. People in my neighborhood are not friendly so I don’t bake to be able to share😥I’d still would love to try and make this cake. Thank you for sharing this with us. Looks awesome Chef Jeffrey. I'm going to make this tomorrow for a family get together. I'm going to make an addition of 1 cup of chopped pecans. Will be great with a nice cup of hot coffee.
This cake is "off da chain"!!!!! Made it, but cut back on sugars - I'm diabetic so I used 3c Flour, half tsp baking powder, 1cup sour cream, 1/4c sugar, 1c stevia...half cup light brown sugar with 1/4c brown stevia, about 2TBLP cinnamon...a 9x13 pan. Made 1/2c glaze only. 0:07

As usual ChefJeff you nailed it! Since I'm Diabetic same as your mom, I use your recipes but much less sugar! That Stevia (sugar substitute) works very very well used in your recipes!❤

Those Mrs. Bairds cinnamon rolls were sooooo good, with that almost gelatinous icing 🤤. They used to have some really delicious products back in the day, but those cinnamon rolls and chocolate pies were the go-to's 🙌🏾.....that cake looks so delicious, wish I could buy one online lol

Use your beaters turned off to stir the flour in with wet mixture then turn beaters on when flour is all wet- no flour smoke the.
well Chef,you've convinced me to surrender to the technology and buy an electric hand mixer ! I think I can buy one for $35 dollars from TARGET....Also can't wait to try this recipe. I'll probably dust the cake with powdered sugar instead of glazing it.
