It looks delicious. My mother's fabulous pineapple custard ice cream would have been great with that beautiful cake. Wish I had some. How well I remember her instructions on proper creaming of butter and sugar. We had to learn it by hand before graduating to the electric mixer. Excellent cakes became easy for us to make when we were still in elementary school. Mother turned a few of us into gourmet-class home chefs.

When my cakes are done I let them sit 10 minutes before taking them out because they need to pull away from the sides. If the tootpick comes out clean then it's really a little overcooked but if a crumb is on it then taking it out maybe 5 minutes before the recommended time won't hurt and it can still cook in the pan a few minutes and shouldn't be dry.
Pastry chef here… you should Always let your cake sit for 5-10 min before turning out of the pan. Your structure is much better. When the cake is hot it is unable to properly maintain its shape consistently . There are a few cakes that should be turned out quickly. They usually have a parchment liner. When the recipe is written they take into consideration the bit of extra baking that finishes your cake in the pan. It’s an important step.

I really love the tips you give like: start with dry and end with dry and not to overmix when you are mixing your cake batter and also when you mix the butter and the sugar you shouldn't be able to taste the grains in the sugar... Those things really help. Thank you and much success to you ❤️💪🏾

Well you've been lucky Lol because it can break not letting it rest. I usually let mine sit 10 minutes also and be praying mine come out the pan! Lol

I really love the tips you give like: start with dry and end with dry and not to overmix when you are mixing your cake batter and also when you mix the butter and the sugar you shouldn't be able to taste the grains in the sugar... Those things really help. Thank you and much success to you ❤️💪🏾

I wasn't mixing long enough too. Didn't use wire whisk either and my cakes are always way too dry. This pound cake looks so good I'm going to do those 2 things and get it right this time. Thank you for sharing it with us.

I made this cake last night and it is absolutely the best pound cake I have had since my grandmother passed away.. this cake is amazing.. I love how you talk us through the importance of room temperatures and creaming butter and sugar at length.. I've never creamed them that long and you can tell that made a huge difference. I appreciate you so much. My husband and I are huge fans .. I ultimately want to make every one of your recipes. I think next will be that double chocolate cake 🤤🤤🤤
