Jimmy Sakurai not only channels JP... he leaves out the heroin and Jack Daniels that made the original such a sloppy live player! Mr. Jimmy plays it all PERFECTLY with no mistakes and his tone is so close to the original that it's insane!
We’ve seen Jason’s Tribute band twice, the last time with this excellent singer. Mr. Jimmy was with Led Zepagain, the 2 times I’d seen them. I was really pleased to learn he’d joined them!! There used to be an excellent Zep tribute band called The White, they would cover entire albums, which was an real treat for hardcore fans. 🇨🇦
Every time I hear these versions of these songs, I get the smell of the new TSRTS album cover ink, paper and vinyl in my nostrils from when I got the album new back in '77 at age 11. The pics of Jimmy in the dragon trousers were my biggest inspiration to want to be a famous guitarist in a famous band.
One thing about it losing Bonham was one of the greatest tragedies ever in Rock & Roll, but what a blessing to have had Jason to fill his shoes! Peace from DFW Texas...
Saw these guys NYE23 supporting Heart and didn’t know Mr. Jimmy was in the band until he brought the arena to life with his moves during “Ramble On”. I think everyone was thinking the same as I was: “hey, that guitarist really has Pagey down to a science! He sure looks like Jimmy Sakurai.” Didn’t find out until the end-of-set band intros that it really was him.
Brings back alot of memories, grew up on this music. I remember in my parents dinning room moving all the tables out and cranking this shit up on 11 that was also my age at that time
Awesome footage, we saw them at the Greek Theater in 2023. Phenomenal Show! I wanted my kids (and myself!) to see the closest thing to Led Zeppelin there is. They're all excellent and Mr. Jimmy is just nails it, he's dedicated his life to it, and it shows!
I got to see this guys at a small venue (1200 ppl) in Grand Rapids Michigan. Absolutely an amazing show. So good that you could close your eyes and see in your mind the real Zeppelin on stage.
Notice the right hand using hybrid picking. That is what makes this song so tricky to play on guitar. And Mr. Jimmy is one of a few people on planet earth who has nailed it. Not EVH, not Hendrix, not Clapton... none of Page's contemporaries had their right hand developed like that. Kudos to Mr. Jimmy!
Steve Howe of Yes used to do that style of picking as well. You can see it pretty well on live videos of him playing his solo piece 'Clap', but he probably did it all over the Yes catalogue. Always found that style of picking quite fascinating, nice to know that Jimmy did it as well.
@@bubnick46 Yes. So did Scotty Moore who was Elvis’s guitarist. (one of Page’s biggest influences). Many guitarists used it, particularly in country. But none of his contemporaries in the way that I’m aware of. Maybe Mark Knopfler but he’s a very different player of course. At root, my point is that he’s constantly ragged on as being “sloppy”. It is absolutely nonsense if you understand what he’s doing with his right hand. He’s constantly slurring, picking, bending and scraping like a paintbrush rather than trying to be perfectly clean. (“Economy picking” that came to be popular in the 80s) There’s an old guitarist from the 1950s here on UA-cam that I saw years ago. He’s probably gone now. But he talked about how Jimmy used what was called then a “smearing” pattern commonly used by the likes of Chuck Berry, etc. Anyway, I could go on. There are quite a few tunes where he uses hybrid picking that just makes it impossible to play without knowing it. The Song Remains the Same it’s just ridiculously hard.
Saw this guitar player in Led Zep again and he and the rest were JAW DROPPING.The drummer even had the green sparkle Ludwigs and was dropping in fills from other live videos.
@deanallen927 I'm not talking about what he's wearing or the double neck. I'm talking about his face and the way he moves. That eighties Jimmy that's when I saw him with the Firm
@@clutchcarabelli8054 Yeah, good point. I saw JP at the ARMS tour and The Firm. He was trying some of those jumps and kicks from Song Remains, but toned down. This guy is great, I'm not surprised Jason poached him. I'd like to see his band too. It doesn't hurt that JP loves him.
This scared me for a minute because the last time I saw Jimmy was on a special with The Edge and Jack White and his hair was white and he looked like Father Time from that part in The Song Remains The Same where he waves the rainbow wand.
These guy's are amazing in concert! I seen em live in Detroit. If you ever get the opportunity to, check out the Zeppelin cover band named ZOSO. They are also amazing in concert. Seen em live many times.
Jesus for a second I thought thst WAS Page, and thought "Page plays on Jason's tours, whaat??" But it's actually this Japanese guy named Jimmy Sakurai. Incredible. Interesting to note that the real Jimmy Page HAS in fact played with Jason Bonham many years ago
I’ve seen Led Zeppelin live back in May of 1977 and my brother was the founder of Led Zepagain so I must say this is as close you’ll ever get to the real thing. Hats off to the boys!
Man I’d love to see this band! I believe these guys are just about as close to Led Zeppelin as one could get now… especially being a drummer and huge John Bonham fan! I’m also a Jason Bonham fan as well 🙌🏻🙌🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻🥁❤
this song on HoH, you would not necessarily think is a stirring live ROCKER, I mean that in the best non Metal way. It has everything, awesome lead improv, drumming that is furious, a baseline that is buoyant, just a great great live song. It is too bad that "TSRTS" didn't include things like Ocean or Since I've Been Loving You and the other things you can find now on UA-cam from that very same live tour, those songs are great too, and were left out for some reason
Kenny! I saw them open for Peter Frampton at the garden. So great! I was watching this and then realized you posted it. Nice camera work, me ‘ol buddy!
I haven't made it to Jason's show yet and I'd like to soon especially with Mr. Jimmy in the line up. The only thing that I take issue with is this is just the music of the band. An evening with Led Zeppelin was a journey! The improvisation just isn't there and I skip many tribute bands because of that. Jason a master of the Zeppelin bootleg should consider adding those improvisations to his show.
My mind is blown. All four of them sound amazing. Look great, too.
Jimmy's footwork is as amazing as his finger work. Jimmy is not merely impersonating Jimmy Page. He's channeling him.
Do you think he watched some old Led Zeppelin concert footage?
Jimmy Sakurai not only channels JP... he leaves out the heroin and Jack Daniels that made the original such a sloppy live player! Mr. Jimmy plays it all PERFECTLY with no mistakes and his tone is so close to the original that it's insane!
Best Jimmy Page impression ever.
JP dead ringer on lead guitar!!😊
Better than Jimmy - at least in the sense that he has ALL OF JIMMY's MOVES in this ONE performance! It's NUTS!
That guys been covering Jimmy since he was a very young man can't remember he's name but he's VERY GOOD 🎵🎶🎸👍
@@GrayWolf3334Mr. Jimmy
He's arguably better than Jimmy Page in how consistent his delivery on stage is.
WOW THIS IS AS CLOSE AS You’ll ever get to hearing Zeppelin live in the 21st century
Damn! Mr. Jimmy's guitar playing is amazing!!!
Holy Damn! That was Killer!
Nice too see real musicians playing real music 👍✌️❤️🙏👊🤘
Love Mr. Jimmy great musician 👍👍🎸😎
Excellent guitar, tight band, vocals right on the mark. Nice!

Yes I've seen them too
I’ve seen them 3 times. Worth every penny

Yeah bought mine when it came out those black slip covers the whole package what a masterpiece.
@@carystorm1863truly.
Mr. Jimmy always enjoy playing that. He is so lovable man.
One thing about it losing Bonham was one of the greatest tragedies ever in Rock & Roll, but what a blessing to have had Jason to fill his shoes! Peace from DFW Texas...
Jason leaves no stone unturned. Ive seen this show numerous times. It never gets old!
This guy is great. Impressive 👍can’t wait to see the movie
I can imagine all the smiles in th audience 😊
Saw them open for Peter Frampton a few years ago. Absolutely unbelievable! If you are a Led Zeppelin fan, this is a must see
Sounds so much like Led Zeppelin! Take me back to where I belong.its been a long time

These guys are mind-blowing. Saw them in Portland Maine, out of this world.
Guitars by Jimmy just like the real thing....BRAVO
yea, I'm going to wait till my buzz is gone and come back to this again, not sure what happen here really ,
@@danielhall-wl4qlThis is so awesome!
It was that good.
He has a great right hand technique.
And that’s something I never say about another man.

Absolutely smokin' guitar player. Wow. Great performance all around. Congrats guys.

Ive never heard anyone come this close. Incredible. Getcha Pull.
I saw these guys in Bethlehem. That show was truly memorable. JBLZE is no joke. Possibly the best next to LZ.
One of, if not the best Zep tributes...
Well consider you have Jason Bonham on drums and Mr Jimmy on guitar. You really could never get a better line up for a Led Zep tribute band
@@glenchapman3899 I can only hope they come up to Canada...would love to see this live!
This is why I play today . You can feel the feeling and energy that Jimi felt
Great job Jason and men your dad would be so proud

Page today or the last 20 years could not play this as good as Mr Jimmy
Richard Thompson has a similar technique , but yes that's how good a guitarist he is and this guy's impersonation too !
Steve Howe of Yes used to do that style of picking as well. You can see it pretty well on live videos of him playing his solo piece 'Clap', but he probably did it all over the Yes catalogue. Always found that style of picking quite fascinating, nice to know that Jimmy did it as well.

One of my favorite Zep songs, and they cover it beautifully
