Can you use the plugs with blue tape as well? What's so special if only Yamaha can use them? Asking this because it seems my new RMAX only has 3 free plugs. Few only have a brown wire going to something (it is road legal made)
How do you crimp those connectors? Is it just by pressing it with those crimping plier tools? Doesn't it damage the waterproof seal when crimpped with such a tool? Mine (original from dealer) does not come with a manual lol...
Thanks Brian I have been doing my home work last couple of day's I agree with you on Polaris but I have three sportsman 2 850 xp and 1 550 xp . I did have problems with one of my 850 around 800 to 900 miles my machine had that spun timing gear on crank . Don't know if you know of that problem but Polaris press on the timing gear to crank no key to hold from spinning it is just a friction fit motor went out of time vales hitting piston heads. Long story short Polaris said have a nice day I rebuilt the motor myself but parts cost me 2200.00 . So I ask about Polaris and other never hung on Polaris just thought maybe I was just one in million but with your input and I was thinking all long cam am . I feel good going forward in future with cam am I really appreciate you take the time answer my question Brian thanks
Yes sir, good luck and keep me posted on what you decide to go with. 👍🏼
Hey Brian I know this is completely off topic.
Would you know where to find a front bumper for a 1998 Honda 450 foreman
Hey Scott, sorry buddy I don’t know, not sure anyone is still making them for a 98? You may need to go used.
@@FishersOffRoad hard to find
Thank you for the response
eBay
How do I get in touch with you guys, I have some tech questions about rugged radios/ helmet to helmet communication

If I only need to tap into the 12v accessory power, would I still need to ground it somewhere? Trying to wire in a dash cam and the power and ground go to the battery and the Acc power is only 1 wire
Your acc wire should go to a key hot wire so it only comes on when you turn the key on.
@@FishersOffRoad I thought the connector in the video is a key hot wire. Using that would save me from splicing into any other wires. I’m not well versed in this, so I was just asking because I couldn’t find any answers online
@@paul02155 you could just use a hotwire if you wanted to. I didn’t know if you wanted to use one of your 5 accessory connections for that.
So 20 amps per connector or 20 amps for all 5 combined
20 amps for all 5 combined.
Bit ridiculous huh
20A in total. That can be 1 cable drawing 20A and the 4 others 0A (don't connect anything to them) but it can also be 4A on every connector (= 20A total) or it can be anything in between like 8+3+1+4+4 really... If you need more than 20A you need to install a fusebox, powered via a proper thick wire directly to the battery. (check for YT vids on that, cause you need to install security-stuff in between the battery and fusebox. Also when installing a 2nd battery for accessories only, you need even more "special" stuff...)
Also be sure to do the maths correct 😉 Say you want to install a dual USB rocker switch. They are mostly 4.2Amps. That does NOT mean you loose 4.2A from the 20A total. Cause the 4.2A is on 5V (usb) so 4.2Amps x 5Volt = 21Watts --> the acc plug is 12V so --> 21W : 12V = 1.75A. So it takes 1.75A from the 20A on 12V (and not 4.2A)
In other words, 20A is plenty
