This is a great song which has been recorded by many artists; Elton Britt, the Hoosier Hot Shots, Gene Autry, Vaughn Monroe, the Mills Brothers, Jodie Sands, Ricky Nelson, Brook Benton and Patsy Cline all had charted records. Della's version charted at number 56 on the Billboard Hot 100 in early 1960. Written by Jimmie Hodges.
I loved her on Harlem Knights and a thin line between love and hate 1996 Martin Lawrence movie LOL!!🤣🤣🤣 Im going to miss her, and she was beautiful when she was young and a great singer ❤❤❤
Watch this and you will know why I love The Rev. Dr. Della Reese and would want to be reincarnated as her! I met The Rev. Dr. Della Reese at her UP CHURCH in beautiful Los Angeles one Sunday, talked with her and will never forget her appeal, class and love for Christ Jesus. I was introduced to her by John Downey III.
There’s no need to compare - they have different vocal types. Both are great artists in their own right. Plus, the quality of a singer is not determined solely by the volume of their voice.
@@arlenecerf8833 Yes. Della at this stage was a mezzo-soprano. And a traditional pop midrange mezzo belter. Aretha was never this kinda singer. Comparison just simply does not work. Esther Phillips could be compared on the other hand. Similar genre and style. Mezzo. Aretha was a soprano.
What an intense presence on the screen and one can imagine how that presence was felt on the pulpit as well.
Such a beautiful voice!!
Wow this lady has a unique style and one big voice. Fantastic...
REV. DELLA REESE was one of Ed Sullivan's favorite singers and she proves why in this performance.❤🙏
What a voice... some growlin' and some sass! Thank you for sharing! 💖
