Gifted with a voice that her parents can’t hear, seventeen-year-old Ruby (Emilia Jones), is the sole hearing member of a deaf family-a CODA, Child of Deaf Adults. Her life revolves around acting as interpreter for her parents (Marlee Matlin, Troy Kotsur) and working on the family’s struggling fishing boat every day before school with her father and older brother (Daniel Durant). But when Ruby joins her high school’s choir club, she discovers a gift for singing and finds herself drawn to her duet partner Miles (Ferdia Walsh-Peelo). Encouraged by her enthusiastic, tough-love choirmaster (Eugenio Derbez) to apply to a prestigious music school, Ruby finds herself torn between the obligations she feels to her family and the pursuit of her own dreams.

Great movie. I have a deaf person in my family and it’s really heartwarming to see that a movie like this got so much recognition.
I am very happy to know that you watch this movie and enjoy it ❤
Loved loved this heartwarming movie. ❤ it was a tearjerker 😢
One of the best movies I saw in a while... Made my heart cry...
Just finished watching. Beautiful. So moving. Greetings from the Philippines! :)
So interesting. "Sound of Metal" is a great movie to. There are so many interesting things around, just listen.
Great, wonderful, amazing, fantastic.
This is a remake of the French movie called La famille belier
I was looking for this comment..
N win Oscar 😆
Looks like an inspiration from Khamoshi a 1996 Indian movie.
@@monstermayankno is not, try with English not with French.
Awesome Best Picture winner, better than those snoozefest of dramas
Even though I would likely never be able to imagine the troubles the deaf community have to endure, being a first generation immigrant, I often translate for my parents. This is the indie film that I didn’t know I wanted, a well deserved Best Picture win. 🤟
I would love to watch this!
Ummmmm today’s your lucky day! U can! 😅
Wow, they finally opened up the comments!
Watch the French original!!
ngl this trailer made me shed a tear

Replica after La Famille Bélier
you are very right
Further proves I’m one in a million
This movie about the dead family won the Oscars and I've never heard about this movie. Hmmm ironic
What's ironic? Maybe give it a watch, then come back with a report🤝
bro did they add in the trailer them celebrating that she got the scolarship????? Also at the end of the trailer we get them hugging to say goodbye to her most likely since she is leaving to pursue singing???? solid trailer. Probably would've been (probably is to be fair if you don't watch the trailer before) a good movie but since i know exactly what happens i have 0 reason to watch it lol
They filmed it with iPhone 11 camera no way 😳
Khamoshiya Remake
Yes the story is very similar to Khamoshi the musical 1996 by Sanjay Leela Bhansali.
Also the movie me before you had a similar storyline as that of guzarish 2010 again by Sanjay Leela Bhansali (the only difference being the focus on the love story in the former and euthanasia in the later).
❤❤
