- Today we have a build for Elsa from Frozen in Dungeons & Dragons! If your favorite disney princess has the powers of Ice, Architecture, and creating sentient life, you might want to give this a shot in D&D 5e!

1 lvl of sorcerer because that's where her powers come from, 19 levels of bard because that's how she uses them. ❄️✨
To be fair, we don't know that she's NOT summoning demons to possess her snow golems in order to give them sentience.
Then Olaf has got to be pretty friendly devil.
@@Cross177 The greatest devils deal in kindness, for it is the lonesome and the abandoned that often seek their power and company.
Though very rare and uncommon, and almost always low level, neutral demons/devils aren't impossible.
😂
I think this might be one my favorite builds from Tulok. Totally unexpected power levels, and honestly would make a fantastic BBEG. A reclusive rejected royal who spends their days locked away in their own fortress amassing an army large enough to destroy the very nation that rejected them.
Dracula?
It's almost poetic all things considering
Yes! This is not a build for a player. But damn that's a worthy NPC and maybe even antagonist.
There was an early draft of Frozen that had Elsa play as a straight villain, which I think would have made a better movie overall.
@@claduke would’ve been great for KH3
Also it`s worth noting that you don't just have an army of frost giants, you have an army of giants that each has a chain devil inside of them! When the giant dies, there is just an angry devil waiting to rip and tear! Nesting dolls of doom!
I am terrified!!
You know, I was about to make a joke about having a nickle for every female cryomancer tulok build this month, but that insight in the intro puts things into a new perspective.
Elsa is patient zero.
Patient sub-zero
To be fair if you made Elsa first she wouldn’t be nearly as possible considering all the changes that occurred in 5e since your first video
I considered going through this video to find just how much stuff came after his Captain America video, but I decided I was okay with it and that I should not do that.
I also decided not to use the one really obvious pun to express that sentiment.
To be fair
Builds like these make me want to Let it Pokemon Go to the polls
Makes me want to go to the Fey wild and find out that the feywild is all good and live there forever instead of being queen
Elsa very quickly became my favorite Disney character. Its a good thing they changed her from a villain.
From what i understand, she wasn’t even a villain in the story, more of an inciting incident who is just really clueless about normal human cold tolerance and that kidnapping is wrong.
I thought you already did a Qui Gon build?
Also I'm so glad I'm not the only person who thinks Slow and Shield works as ice flavored spells
This is a fun video, I always love seeing some Draconic Bloodline Sorcerer love, it's one of my all-time favorite Sorcerer subclasses. Also, College of Creation Bard is so perfect for a lot of Disney builds considering their love of song and animated objects.
A parody of "The Safety Dance" about this channel involving the opening lyric "Roll for stats if you want to/keep your multiclass in mind/because you need those stats/and without those stats/your whole build could be in a bind".
What a fun build! I forgot Mighty Fortress was a thing, I was expecting Magnificent Mansion the whole time. Which wouldn't have been bad, but this is better, and I love it. I was also kind of expecting some kind of ice-themed fiend, I feel like there must be some, but polymorphing into frost giants is also amazing.
There definitely must be ice fiends considering a layer of hell is frozen over. I'd probably use them in the meantime.
Ironically enough, the original Andersen story Frozen is based on has a TON of hellish themes, the entire story is about Satan having a mirror that shows you things as they are, it gets shattered, enters a little boy's eye and a little girl's heart (both siblings) she becomes an ice witch and the boy has to do a whole thing in order to save/kill his sister. So even the devil stuff makes a lot of sense!
Isn't it a little girl, Gerda, saving her brother from this spell? I seem to recall the Snow Queen having almost no role in things
@@BJGvideos Yeah OP got some things mixed up. The mirror shards (which don't show things as they are, rather they distort things so people can only see the ugliness in the world) only enter the boy's heart and eye, the girl has to rescue him. They're also not (necessarily) siblings in the story, just really close friends and playmates.
The main point, though, about the story having a lot of devil-related themes, is true though. The devils are also called 'trolls', though, somewhat confusingly, which could add another possible monster to use.
@@BJGvideos Oh yeah! Sorry! Yeah, the brother gets it in the heart and is dying maybe? I do remember a woman with ice powers having to be killed, but there was also a live action movie that might've taken some liberties. My mom read the story to me when I was little and I was just so excited to see the devil pop up in a book, like... He's like a big bad dude from movies and the best Powerpuff Girls villain!
@@abj6920in the version I’ve read, they didn’t actually have to fight the Snow Queen. Once she discovers that the boy is no longer frozen and has succeeded in solving the puzzle she made him work on, she lets him leave without fuss and even gives him a new pair of ice skates!
I would probably say the #1 con of this build beyond just the time constraint is mostly that she isn't really that fit to be an adventurer. Like her main buff of making an army of hellish frost giants is cool, but that's definitely more a BBEG thing.
The best BBEG are full on characters. Put the fear of god in players by making them fight a level 20 anything
@@CrafterMastermd Fair enough, I more just mean like a lot of players wanting to play the characters in these videos and thinking "you couldn't"
The #1 con of the build is the lack of calligraphy proficiency. THAT would make her a god. ^_~
Seriously, I agree with you.
I made an Elsa build a while ago but I chose the Wildfire Druid but with the DM's permission I swapped all the Fire related things for Cold instead. The Wild"ice" (Wildfire) spirit was a great Olaf.
I’d have called it a blizzard druid
@@JaelinBezel Obviously if it was official I would have called it the Circle of Disaster and you could choose between Wildfire, Tsunami, Hurricane, Blizzard, Thunderstorm, Volcano, and Earthquake, each giving you different free spells and determining what your Elemental Spirit looks like. A lot like the Genie Warlock.
Between the midwestern-Norwegian jokes and dunking on the characters' lack of intelligence, it's clear you had fun making this. Fantastic video, bud.
I would change the last 2 lvls of bard to sorcerer just so you can get meta magic letting you grab transmute spell and quicken spell.
Pick up just a few low level attack spells, also absorb elements. This would almost completely negate the lack of direct combat abilities. You can quicken a Chromatic orb as a bonus action and then action cast a frost cantrip. Or say you cast high level scorching ray but transmute spell it into Freezing Ray
That would be nice, unfortunately that means not getting the ice castle, weather control, or capped constitution.
I think the only thing I'd change is swapping wisdom and intelligence. She doesn't really read a room well, and loses control pretty frequently. Otherwise, very fun build!
Id have to disagree, as surviving in a frozen tundra was a bit more relevant
Ironically in a recent Mutants and Masterminds game, the rival superhero team is made of Disney hero knockoffs. There was an ice girl (Elsa), a guy that summons a powerful spirit (Aladdin), a super strong dude (Hercules), a shape shifting fellow (Maui), a healer chick (Rapunzel) and an animalistic monster man (the Beast). So are Rapunzel and the Beast coming soon?
The sheer amount of Ice/Frost creatures you can utilize as an army is incredible. For example:
Cr 9
Frost Giant Skeleton (For Undead Fortitude)
Ice Salamander (For 8d10 cold breath attacks)
Cr 8
Frost Giant
Frost Troll (for Regeneration and 3d6 Cold Aura)
Cr 6
Frost Giant Skeleton (for Freezing Stare's 10d6 cold + paralyze condition)
Cr 3
Giant Ice Toad (to capture enemies and for 1d10 Cold Aura)
Cr 2
Ice Spider Queen (1d4 cold damage web attack)
It was such a busy day, I forgot it was Tulok Tuesday!
Now I want to see Elsa and Isaac (from castlevania) lead armies to war against each other
With enough prep time, this build can wipe out every single previous build you've done. Know who else just needs prep time to takedown the enemy? Batman.
Some bard levels were guaranteed. No way you would let that go, but I wasn't expecting a majority bard class. However, since it's you, I probably should have.
You nailed the humor in this build, more than usual. I was laughing outloud before you announced the first class.
This is a Kingdom Hearts build. We stan KH on this channel.
Edit: This build is wild.
Wow nice work, wasn't expecting the army of frost giants
Watch the deleted scene from an earlier script.
4:05 - Well, we do have the Pyromancer from the Ravnica book, but yeah, other than that and Storm sorcerer from Xanathars, there really aren't any elementally-themed sorcerers.
Elsa is one of my favorite characters and this is one of my favorite builds.
I asked for this build several years ago. Happy to finally see it.
I weirdly just watched the build Tulok did for The Mask which is amazing. This one even better? Bravo sir!
I see you went the Nordic Skald approach, and I love that
Wow. The possibilities of things to do with that are actually pretty crazy. I’ll never get to use it cause the only games that high level are one shots where you get no time to build your army, but insane concept!
Okay well this is immediately one of my favourite builds of all time!
I love the wickedly talented Adele Dazeem
I've been waiting for this for so long.
finally a build for the wickedly talented adele dazeem
The Midwest is treating me just fine, thanks for asking Tulok, I’ll tell Ma you said hi
I stand by my opinion that Frozen 2 is basically a 4E style epic destiny/paragon path quest for Elsa becoming a high level sorcerer. It’s really fun viewing it through that lens.
a truly cool build
YES!! FINALLY!! Been waiting for this one. For some reason…
Tulok: breathes*
Also Tulok: Time to make a Bard
That multiclasses
This build sounds awesome.
Your work never ceases to impress me! You must do so much research for these characters. Could you possibly do a video for playing as Dimentio (from Super Paper Mario) as a DND Character? I would love to see your thoughts on how he would work! :D
Damn, creativity so good in this one for real! Gray would be proud!
Now that's what I call Hell freezing over!
Tulok, you already did Qui Gon
Love this! ❄️
Yet another good build for that all ice campaign.
Nice build as usual! Might try it out sometime.
I have an idea for your next series of Building Characters: How to build Hololive characters(JP,EN & ID)
Please yes
"What am I doing?"
Apparently making hell freeze over
The textbox covered the scene at 4:58 so perfectly that I just thought she was violently stabbing that man, mortal kombat sub zero type stuff
Good build and perfect for a NPC build! I would still pick the Storm Sorcery bloodline though, more flavorful (now she can talk to kelpies, the water spirits in the second movie lol) and just change the spells a little bit, especially to make her a player character in a campaign instead of a villain. Like giving her 3 rank in Sorcerer to pick Mage Armor at level 2 to compensate the switch of sorcery bloodline, Rime's Binding Ice at level 3 and get the Twinned and Extended metamagic. It should increase her fighting ability a little bit. Also pick M. Magnificent Mansion instead of Mighty Fortress, its less accurate and flavorful but its just better, hidden and it makes it easier to repel invaders! Your party will love it lol!
Mary Poppins would be an awesome follow up!
There is an alternative elemental sorcerer to Draconic Bloodline, and that is the Pyromancer from Kaladesh. With a DM's permission, you could just change every instance of "fire damage" in the class ability to "cold damage" and that will give you a solid base for an Elsa. It also provides a way to get around damage resistance and immunities, as there are sub-class features as you level up.
This is a change I would allow, as I think changing from fire to cold is actually making the subclass a little weaker.
In addition, using a Kalashtar instead of a human would help with the flavor. She spends some time trying to talk to spirits in the second movie, and this gives some of that, even though the abilities don't really add much.
The only issues going this way are no castle, and no Olaf/Marshmallow without some multiclassing. You could us summon elemental, which is a 4rth level spell, but it's not a sorcerer spell, meaning 7 levels of one of wizard/druid/ranger, and that doesn't really fit.
It makes a far more combat ready Ice Princess than what Elsa is.
@@JK96Jt regardless I think the original comment killed his own point at the end there. The cryomancer swap from pyromancer is more directly battle ready than would be accurate for Elsa
Switching from one damage type to another actually can be a big deal, especially if the starting damage is fire, which is both the most common and most resisted damage type
Far less creatures will resist an iceball over a fireball
@@JK96Jt Ok, I probably missed that one. I know he's used Pyromancer before (human torch), but the elemental swap is more of an official homebrew thing, and I know he's sworn off homebrew and UA.
@@danielcastillo591 I wasn't suggesting that you just change the damage type from spells, but the damage type that the subclass abilities refer to, for example they would get cold resistance instead of fire resistance, and bonus cold damage instead of bonus fire damage. I wouldn't allow changing damage from spells without the Transmute metamagic option.
@@JK96Jt he never used Blood Hunter
Fun fact: Iceman did in fact make an Ice Castle - Ice city, really, in Earth X. Sentient Ice golems too. Iceman = Elsa, is what I'm getting at.
holy crap, a Cage the Elephant reference in this day and age? I love it.
I made her for a Rime campaign. I used a UA sorcerer subclass that was cancelled, but i used Fathomless Warlock, reflavoring the Familiar as Olaf and the tentacles as snow golems.
It was pretty cool.
Hey man, you said vote for Qui-Gon? But you made Qui-Gon. Know how I know? There’s a player in my campaign using that build…because I shared it with them!
would of thought the summon minor elemental & summon elemental would of fit more to create ice elementals, but fair enough
Disney princess as bard is brilliant
Thanks.
With all your Build an Army characters, I want to see them face off against each other
I was half expecting to see Kingdom Hearts 3 footage snuck in there just as an excuse to show Sora, Donald, and Goofy lurking in the background during Let it Go
Just here to say that I recognize and chucked heartily your Jupiter Ascending reference at 0:59
And if you really wants to get accurate, you could talk/haggle with your DM for changes in the "Summon Demon > Planar binding > true polymorph" chain.
Maybe adapt for "summon from elemental plane of ice/frost, instead of the lower planes"
Maybe Combine all three as the cost of just "summoning a loyal frost elemental"
Or Homebrew something that is more related to making sentient snowmen.
...I have no notes. This was perfect.
I made this exact level 1 character 7 years ago. And I called her Adelle Dazeem! 😅😆
Bro how did i never realize it's "barbrarian" and not "barbarian"
Not just a Queen, a Goddess.
Also, sisterly love.
Wow
Hmmmm, bringing snow sculptures permanently to life... Simulacrum? Marshmallow is an ogre made of snow?
I did an elsa build going 20 levels of war magic wizard with the transmute metamagic adept feat
Infernal calling makes some sense. There is a ice devil, the problem is its cr 14, far beyond the max cr you can summon with infernal calling. And even if you could summon it, it has +9 against the saving throw, and advantage from magical resistance
JUPITER ASCENDING REFERENCE FTW!!!!!
Wait, didn't you already do Qui-Gon?
Tulok I love you and I’m hoping there’s hidden game footage of that new Elsa game they just released just in case a certain rodent catches wind (is this just me maybe begging for an Elsa elden ring video??? Maybe)
I wouldn’t say no to a Frozen sequel where Elsa ends up summoning an army of icy devils.
Curious which stat she’ll be maining. I think the best ice spells come from Druid but I wish there was more ice focused builds. There’s like. Three fire based classes. That’s unfair.
Take the pyromancer from Kaladesh, and just swap al mentions of "Fire" with "Cold" or "Ice". Boom - a Cryomancer. If you want to make a BBEG, swap Fire with poison, and you've got a Venomancer, or maybe a Toximancer?
@@bskec2177 Sure, it's easy to homebrew but I'd still like some more official subclasses for the other elements. On that note they really need more elemental spells. There's only a handful of Lightning spells and not a lot of Cold. There should at least be one decent spell of each element and each level (up to maybe 6 or so) available for most classes.
As long as the devils that Elsa summons are ice devils, it would still be appropriate.
I'd make the Sorcerer level Storm to dance around the battlefield, since the Dragon one just doesn't seem to contribute anything.
okay... just because I know about Sven and Ollie, and am from the midwest... no, you got me. Things are good, eating italian beefs and fries with gravy.
The memes never bothered me anyway~~!
What is the intro song for this video?
damn, you really weren't feeling that "adele dazeem" reference were you
"We don't have elemental specific sisters except for storm at the moment"
Pyromancer sorcerer would like a word.
Elsa would ruin Iskandar's day, and that makes me smile
You should do Dracula from Castlevania.
Be interesting to do one from Castlevania and then one from the original book and compare them
I'm still waiting for a bard build for the Silmarillion version of Sauron.
What about a "How to play Roger Kint/Keyser Soze in D&D"? If unfamiliar with the character, take a look at the movie "The Usual Suspects".
A nice queen
"Oops, she's actually a god" is the subtext of Moana, too. Go fig!
Could you Build Arthur Leywin from The Beginning after the end ?
You should try to build Ren from L.E. MOdessitt jr.'s imager portfolio book series.
Have you considered making an Adam build, from Records of Ragnarok? Or perhaps even Buddha???
Hey, they're not all commoners but Elsa. Kristoff probably has... Beastmaster Ranger levels... And Anna's an Aristocrat... Okay, so they're basically commoners, but it's technically called something different in the rulebooks.
No cold resistance on Elsa?
my idea for a senator armstrong build
custom lineage (half goliath half orc)
20 levels of barbarian
history
persuasion
constitution #1 (if you want to make the world into fist of the north star, you need to be able to survive fist of the north star)
strength/charisma #2 (you need to win a grapple check with someone who can suplex a stadium sized mech and convince him of your argument in a debate)
intelligence/wisdom #3 (you need to know about politics and why they suck)
dexterity #4 (the reason you lost is because you couldn't catch a sword)
(stoneskin optional)
If Elsa is a god, pretty sure that would make her Demeter. Since plunging the world into eternal winter because she got emotional is exactly what Demeter did the first time Persephone disappeared to be with Hades, which is why we have seasons now.
Technically these days Iceman is a pirate with a group of his buddies and lives on a boat. But fair criticism nonetheless.
I totally would of gone Wild Magic Sorcerer over Draconic for Elsa.
She totally couldn’t control her power until she learned to let go and took control.
