  • In August of 2023, my buddy Stan and I flew to Billings MT and rented Royal Enfield Himalayans to do the Wyoming BDR and some more tracks on a 10 day trip. Our route comprised of a loop of the BDR going backwards north to south, then picking up more or less the Great Divide route up to Tetons NP, then back to our start in Red Lodge MT through Yellowstone. It was a fantastic adventure, each day was full of great scenery, great riding, and always some kind of surprise.

We skipped the "Red Gulch" section in the morning because of the overnight rain

Looks so awesome. Scenery was amazing even on a cloudy day. And that campsite with a little Knob Creek to finish the day...Magnifique!

That was some cool scenery. I had no idea wild horses were still a thing out there.

The cloud formations in the morning were almost as stunning as the scenery on the ground! Thanks.

Glad you had an easier day. Prior day looked like an "ass kicker"!

Very cool man. I bet that river has some trout in it? Fly fishing fan here. Also. Own a couple bikes. That was a cool ride JP. Thanks.

Looking forward to next section. I rode it in June 2022 on my t-dub. Camped for a few nights off Louis Lake Road (Forest Road 300). Had some serious winds down toward Atlantic City.

Great ride. Himalayan’s doing well so far. Looking at doing this in the summer on a DR650 or KLR. Curious what you used for navigation on your phone?

Thanks. I use GAIA for my GPS navigation and track library/creation. It's web based and you sync your tracks to your phone and can use it off-line without cell signal.

@@JohnnyPowRides Thanks I’ll look into that. Been playing around with Rever and it seems ok but just wondered. Appreciate it.

What was up with that poison gas area?

I believe the road went through gas company fields and the signs were warnings if they were emitting bad stuff. There was a matching sign on the other side
