Question, do you interested in Indonesia stuff?
When you don't want to talk about your war experiences not because of the horrors but because nothing happened.
Lol
Gotta have that sweet spot in the middle with some hurrying up to wait and a little bit of shit hitting the fan
Then WW2
There was another quiet sector on the Western Front, near the French town of Festubert. There was a major battle there in 1915, but anyone stationed there in the following years would have felt as if the war had passed them by. One visitor to this sector described seeing troops polishing brass “like a bunch of housewives.”
There's always a calm before the storm.
Nitpick on the Alpine Front: not only the Italians attacked first there, it was never abandoned, they were just doing it by blowing up mountains held by the enemy.
I find the description of the Piave battle a bit misleading and highly semplistic. The Austro-German forces were not halted singlehandedly by the french and british divisions sent on the Piave. They certainly helped but were only a small part of the whole front.
Need a Sabaton for this
It's good to see you do a WW1 video for once. It's a good change from the usual WW2 videos
I read somewhere where Brit WW1 greatcoats were known for if you tried, after the coat froze almost solid in the frost, and you tried beating if outta the coat its would smash like a sheet of glass!
The Salonica front was the front with the most change. The Serbian army marched +300kms barefoot. Before the armistice the Serbian army reached southern Austria, being pleaded by the British not to sack Vienna.
Putting the Italian front on here is just absurd and clearly poorly researched. Just like the western front there was daily artillery fire and never ending micro battles. I've been reading the Austro-Hungarian official history of the war and just because you won't find these battles online in any English sources doesn't mean there weren't thousands of casualties daily in actions you've never heard of. The front was certainly industrialized warfare you for some reason claim wasn't.
Yep. Plus it wasn't the arrival of the French or British that stabilised things. They wouldn't have gotten there in time
Love this channel!!
Why? He is so bloody amateur and lazy that he massacres most of the place and people names. Have to wonder if this is just the Wikipedia With Images channel. He has been told but this one is the worst for comically bad naming. I guess English isn't his native language😂😂😂😂😂😂. I'm done. I've unsubscribed, I can't bear to listen to him trying to talk "Authoritively" 😂🤮🤮
It is better to pull victory from the ass of defeat, then to never reach in and try.
Well said, you always try or you spend your life wondering what what might have been.
You missed the Asia-pacific front
WAIT!!! YOURE THE GUY FROM GEETSLY
Nice video Geetsly’s
Hey has anyone seen the movie "Lawrence of Arabia?" If you haven't I would suggest that you do. It stars some pretty notable actors. One of which would later go on to play Obi-Wan Kenobi in the first Star Wars Trilogy.
you mean Alec Guinness the guy who played Prince Faisal in Lawrence of Arabia yeah guys a great actor.
@@silentecho92able--Yep that's who I meant.
Okay, but Peter O'Toole's acting is just unbearably terrible and overcooked. Really, it is. It is a good watch for quasi-historical entertainment, but the lead guy is just SNL level awful...
@@BeingFireRetardantJesus, comparing Peter O'Toole to SNL 😅 Have you suffered a head injury recently?
@@MrMcChuckles95
Every other cast member sells the movie, but his lead almost makes it unwatchable. Go see it again, and count the number of times his overacting ruins a scene. It is atrocious.
I See advertisements for war thunder, and world of tanks… I kind of want to try a tank game, which one is better?
War Thunder, but the grind is brutal. World of Tanks is far more arcade like and far more frustrating in my opinion. So much pay win bs in that one. Either way prepare to have your patience tested.
Both. They're free to play (initially) so try them both :) GLHF!
EDIT: They're both free to play but in time you might want to pay to get an edge over your opponents... that's why I wrote "initially".
The ad where the 304 chick says shes been going to therapy since she was 7? Yea, run...run far and fast. Wtf.
The Macedonian front was only 600m long? Might want to fact check that one. 😂
Edit: love this channel, I know that was just a typo or something.
No it's laziness and nothing more. Channel is riddled with this 🤮🤮
The least significant fighting that took place maybe in German New Guinea where there was some shooting between Australians and German Papuan auxiliaries in 1914 but I don't remember where exactly.
I believe you're talking about the Battle of Bita Paka, which occurred on September 11th 1914 and resulted in elements of an Australian expeditionary force defeating a mixed force of German reservists and local police. The remaining reservists and police retreated to the town of Toma, where they would surrender to the Australians on the 17th of September. I'll leave links to their Wikipedia articles below if you're interested in finding out more.

@@IanPendleton-gh6ox Thank you!
The Aussies were the 1st to engage German forces on German turf. The naval guns at Queenscliff, Victoria actually fired on a German freighter that day after war was declared in 1914. It was trying to sneak out of Port Phillip Bay...cheeky kraut.
That's the legend of Gin Alley in the thumbnail lol
Chief Adolphus Murtry, actually
The Lorraine and Alsace sectors of the Western Front should have been mentioned instead of the Isonzo Front.
You left out the fighting in Southwest Africa.
im a German so westfront an Ostfront estern Front was fitting but where this terms also used by the British and French high command or is this a modern day discretion
Two nitpicks on the Piave: the main responsible for Caporetto was Badoglio, but his connections covered his ass; and the English and French reinforcements arrived when the First Army and remnants of the Second had already stopped the Austro-Hungarian offensive, and would maintain a secondary role compared to the Italians and the largest part of the Czekoslovac Legion.
Correcting the many mistakes isn't nitpicking, it's just highlighted how amateur this channel is
@@methanoidLet it go, it usually has a few good informations and I'm used to English speakers playing Italy in the World Wars down due to biased sources.
My ancestors fought in Salonika(Macedonian) front,im Serbian.
Excellent, on many levels.
Hey Geetsly, what about China, and Japan, and ALL those European colonies out there in the Pacific? 🇺🇸🤝🇦🇺
🫢👍
What about the Pacific front.
What about it?
You okay?
