  • How Ukraine ‘battlefield taxis’ destroyed Russia’s best tank T-90M | War on Tape | Daily Mail
Russia’s ‘best tank’, the T-90M, is designed to destroy other tanks. It should be more than capable of taking out a Bradley Infantry Vehicle, which is a battlefield taxi, designed to take troops in and out of the front. So, how did two Bradley tanks completely destroy a Russian T-90M? We’re going to analyse this battle captured on a drone camera, delve into the archives and speak to an expert to find out.

@@maryginger4877 it wasn't really debunked. the title is misleading. the fact is that the Bradley was able to fight off this tank in direct close range combat. by blinding and deafening it's occupants, destroying its external sensors and optics, setting off its ERA and seemingly jamming its turret control mechanisms along with steering. this lead the tank to crash into a tree and remain still further suggesting the extensive amount of damage it received. shortly after a drone was sent as well, but there is no indication that the tank wasn't already out of action. the crew were able to escape but the tank was not recoverable which makes the claim that it was destroyed by the Bradley technically valid/plausible. it was certainly not "debunked."

Thank you for calling the Bradley what it is. Make no mistake, it's an absolute work horse and I love that this thing is still lighting up T-90s. But, let's remember that it's 40+ years old and exceeding what it was designed to do. So when I saw that video a few weeks back that 'Russians captured Bradley fighting vehicle!" ...my first thought is that's like a thief celebrating that they went out and stole an 83' Ford Taurus.

It's not the "Brad"; calling it that does a disservice to General Omar Bradley. It's not a battlefield taxi. That's a reference to armored personnel carriers like the M113 whereas the Bradley is part of a combined arms doctrine. It doesn't have anti-tank "rockets"; they're TOW-II missiles. The 25mm does not remain, "locked on target"; It's gyro-stabilized. The most common version sent to Ukraine is the M2A2 ODS SA, an early 1990's variant.

The T90M got destroyed by drones not the Bradley. The Bradley fired nearly a 50 rounds and none penetrated. The turret ring got stuck because of shrapnel. Since the sensors and sights of the T90M got damaged, the crew decided to retreat. It was then hit by nearly a dozen artillery shells and 7 fpv drones and it only managed to damage it. The crew of the T90M got out with slight hearing loss but other than that, unscaved.

Bradleys are Infantry Fighting Vehicles (IFVs). They're made to fight tanks. Armored Personnel Carriers (APCs), like M113's and BMPs and BTRs are basically "Battlefield Taxis". Of a few things, the cannon and the fact that they're built to also carry ATGMs is the giveaway. The ones in this video didn't have or choose to use ATGMs.

Its role as a "battlefield taxi" is secondary, its a Infantry Fighting Vehicle that does double duty as a Armored Personnel Carrier. It appears in some of these fights where a couple Bradley's are taking out tanks they are doing it with just their main gun and not even using their two anti tank missiles. In Iraq they took out more enemy tanks than the Abrams tanks did. The Swedish CV-90 IFV appears to be at least as deadly as the Bradley is as well. These two IFV's have been game changers for Ukraine, with I believe 300 more Bradley's either now there or on their way on top of the almost 200 they already had the Russians are going to be hating life.

Its not a Taxi, and the Russian tank was being tracked by drones, and had no support. I am sure they were focused on the drones, and by the time they saw the Bradley they were shooting blind. T-90's are great tanks if they have the trained crew, proper protective armor and support they need. If you would have put an M1 or a Centurion in the same situation of taking fire from both drones, and a couple of IFV's with an inexperienced tank crew, you would probably end up with a blown tank. I have seen videos of successful Russian tank operations where they used t-72s behind a t-62 turtle tank, the difference is that they were supported by infantry, artillery, and helicopters. It was not the tank this time it was the tactics.

12:12 This is where western doctrine has an edge. Yes Russia could absorb staggering casualties, yes China can field so much cheap equipment en-masse, but western doctrine and equipment values safety and survivability of troops and crew. Well trained crews are harder to recoup than material losses and may even be prohibitive or impossible during wartime.

The DPRK and Russia border each other. North Korean forces will cross that border and take a train through Russia to the deployment area. So, nope, there won't be any interception en route -- not unless the US is inclined to target rail inside Russia; the chance of that is extremely close to zero.
