Great video, I have a brand new car and didn't want to spend hundreds of pounds on polishing equipment for such new paint, I've polished by hand and sealed in with a ceramic coat spray and it looks absolutely stunning, but it did take me 6 hours to rinse, wash, clean, dry, polish and coat. I've actually washed it again since and it was much quicker and easier to get great results than usual.
Great vid, thanks. One thing worth considering is that you don’t have to do the whole car in one day. Nothing wrong with doing half of the car one weekend and finishing off the next weekend, especially if you’re old and knackered like me.
Its totally fine with doing half and half. For me its better to do say top half first and save bottom half instead of left and right. Thanks for watching my friend

Hello!! How are you? Just one thing that does not feel right business wise. - Why charging less for a hand polish that takes double the time?? Do you think a one pass machine polish is to offer in the "normal" package? It is more energy and time effective than the hand polishing. What is your take on this one? My thoughts - Get a 1 pass machine polishing included in the normal package, and the hand polish per panel in the upsell list! Hoping for your reply! Best regards João Moutinho Ferreira @ Porto, Portugal!
Hello. Personally this video is aimed at those people who don't have the confidence yet to machine polish. So for beginners. People who are confident with machines wouldn't use this method.
@@epicautomotivedetailing So, business wise, it is better to sell in the costumer aquisition product, the machine polish... I wonder if thisnis the same clay as rhe clay i use to model with, fimo
Can you reuse the applicator pads or the towels after washing them? I know with ceramic coating when it dries on the applicator it kind of becomes hard and glass like so what about polishes or compounds?
Polishing ones yes maybe once of twice but once it's clogged just throw it away
Best regards
João Moutinho Ferreira @ Porto, Portugal!
Hello. Personally this video is aimed at those people who don't have the confidence yet to machine polish. So for beginners. People who are confident with machines wouldn't use this method.
@@epicautomotivedetailing So, business wise, it is better to sell in the costumer aquisition product, the machine polish... Because in your video about the car pricing (awesome by the way) you have again, the same structure - Hand Polish included in the package - Machine Polish like an upsell (total car and per segment)
Just trying to figure out the best way to create a business that is optimized.
So it is good to have someone like you getting back with some experience and awesome feedback!
23 01 24, Can you Please recommend a product to restore faded plastic bumpers by hand on a year 2000 Ford Puma ? Also should a different technique be used on a a 12 year old car with pearlescent top coat - again by hand ? Finally any recommendations for minimising crud build-up on wheels ?
plastic coat by infinity wax is brilliant
Another quality video. Them clay bars can be a proper brick when you first get em. Gotta kneed them like dough!
Thank You mate. Desperately need to clay bar my own car
@@epicautomotivedetailing I need to do mine but keep getting booked on weekends now so not getting a chance. Still at the dealership I work at but building my reputation slowly more and more.
One of the labours of the side hustle/own business...no time for your own car.
Off work for a week next, so giving my bora a overhaul

Cracking vlog buddy thanks for sharing.
Thanks for watching mate 🙏
Great video a lot of great tips 👍
Thank you very much
Instead of using ceramic coat can I use meguiar's carnauba
Yes of course my friend
Nice vid! have you done the Rupes uno vid? I couldn't see and would love to :)
Another good flog dave how long does the yum wax last on your car
Thanks Mark. I'd say around 4-6 weeks protection. Definitely has a wow factor once applied 👌
Excellent video. Was a great help. Subscribe button clicked 👍👍
Thank you very much 🙏
As my Wife told me " circular motions only " 😊
🤮
Did you not use an actual polish? Like meguiar’s ultimate polish or super resin? Normally I thought you would clay, compound, polish and then seal with a wax etc
Hello, There is many types of polishes but for this video i chose compound because i made a super resin polish video already
@@epicautomotivedetailing appreciate you replying so quick. I’m not a full time detailer just like to keep my car clean but is there a benefit to polish after compound by hand then wax to seal?
Yes mate super resin polish alone won't get you the results that you want long term whereas compound and wax will last longer
I have very light swirling, mostly from hand washing and drying. I don't have access to a machine right now so I have to correct the car by hand. The question is polish or compound? I'm thinking a light polish since the paint is already in very good shape.
Your typical super resin polish will only slightly enhance it as there isn't much abrasives in it so if you do use it then follow with good protection
Thank you. Great video!!
Thanks very much
Is there any way I can skip the first step with the clay lubricant? Surprisingly its one of the more pricey items on the list..
Use 10-20% of quick detailer and the rest water 👌
Totally agree re soft99, keep up the vids pls!
Thank you. I'm back on the videos just had such a lot of work going on
tq. i will do panel by panel
Hi, I recently painted a panel on my car and I'll be wet sanding the clear coat (up to 3,000 grit) to reduce orange peel. Is it ok to then polish the sanded clear coat by hand? I was thinking of using McGuire's ultimate for it.
Thanks for any help 🙂
Hello no id do a proper machine polish with the correct compound. Nick at yum cars UA-cam brilliantly demonstrates the compound for the job 👌
@@epicautomotivedetailing
Ok thanks ☺️
hi , do yo have to clean the car with shampoo or alcohol after the claybar ?
and, if i compound + polish , i have to clean the surface before aply any paste wax on it ? with alcohol or similar ? or is not necessary ?
Depends because I clay bar during the wash process nowadays. I made a video last month on how to do a chemical Decon wash which would definitely help you
Can u do this with single stage?. I tried with silver metallic spray can & it dulled the paint
I don't think it would do a huge amount
It’s also a lot of hard graft polishing by hand. Did mine by hand once and then bought myself DA polisher. Never again by hand 🥵
lol yes i know that feeling. I now get to the point where I just wash my car and think oh well just whack some ceramic spray on it
Just waxed my dark grey Honda city using carnauba wax.the yellow sponge and mint green buffing towel turned grey. I am afraid I damaged the car paint.is this normal?😅
I wouldn't worry some older paints tend to transfer onto pads and cloths
@@epicautomotivedetailing alright thanks so much now I am relieved 😌
Does this get out the scratches and minor imperfections as well?? Thank you
Yes it sure does but that depends on condition. Every car is different so without looking at your car it's hard to tell but follow the method and you will make vast improvement
Do you need to wash down the car after the clay bar it?
To be honest you I don't always wash after 👍
I can't afford a polisher but I have a drill... is it silly if I use it with some cheap pads of temu?
From what I've seen, yes. I'd do more research if I were you.
Can I polish without using the clay bar. As I do have one but it want be enough for the whole car.
Yes you can. You wont get same results but still not impossible to get a nice finish even if its not perfect
super helpful thanks
Thank you
Felicitaciones , desde Chile sudamerica
Another great tip, what about white cars
Treat it the same mate 👍
Hi, Any ceramic polish that would last about a year? Also, to protect paint, is Ceramic the best? I recently did Turtle Wax Ceramic Graphene wax to my car, it is nice.
Personally a durable wax that's good would be fusso
Biggest thing really is to pace yourself, don’t rush
how long should you leave the polish on for?
The compound? It needs to be worked into the paint so shouldn't be much left to remove. No need to wait to remove
Do you do a panel at a time? I mean do you clay bar the whole car then polish the whole car ?
Clay bar entire car first my friend
should I use a ceramic spray sealant or wax?
I prefer sprays nowadays
Loved it.
Thank you
What does a clay bar do exactly?
Remove contaminants
I would love my Kia polished 😣😍
I've been experimenting with clay bars. Makes a huge difference. Have also been using autoglym's resin polish to suit. Lovely finish. What would the process be after those first to steps to seal the polish? Just apply wax straight after and buff out?
Just found ya channel mate. Loving the vids! Great job man...
Thank you very much. A decent Ceramic spray or hand wax will do fine. It doesn't last forever mind you. Alternatively you can use a ceramic coating. Pyramid offer one that lasts upto 7 years which is amazing. Thank you so much for watching
@@epicautomotivedetailing Cheers for the link! Would using a wax or a ceramic protection be an absolute must after a polish? Assuming it would only last a week or so if you didn't? 🤔🤔🤔
@@matthewnye882 a late reply but I’m sure you’ve cracked it by now 😂 but yeah a wax straight after will seal the polish in thus protecting the paint the polish leaves behind 👍
