Great video, keep your hands in your pocket 🤣 homie looks like he's conducting an orchestra.
hand language for the deaf audience bros 🤣
@@ErikRose_ I can't read this
My Silverado kills built 60s all day. 4l80e duel feed direct, AFL,TCC, and boost valve upgrade, accumulator delete with 3000 stall and your good
that right there is a solid set up! 🔥
Bro said “you pay what you get for” 😂😂
factual 😂
It’s that finger point and hand toss to the left that gets me every time--
New sub 😊
working on it ! appreciate it brotha 🤣
The 4L80 is more sturdy than a 4L60 but l'm not a fan of the 2.48 1st gear ratio of the 4L80 the 3.06 1st gear in the 4L60 is better and if you throw a 6L80 in the mix it has a super low 4.03 1st gear whats the big deal well with a 6L80 trans with a 3.27 - 3.42 rear end gearing will leave from a dead stop as well as a 4L80 trans would with 4.30 rear gears and not only that but in 6th gear with a 6L80 trans and 3.27 - 3.42 rear gear will be much more pleasant and peaceful to drive on the highway at 80mph than 4.10 - 4.30 gearing would be in a 4L80 trans the difference at 80mph would be 2100 -2300 rpm with a 6L80 trans with 3.27 - 3.42 rear gearing and with a 4L80 trans with 4.10 - 4.30 rear gearing 2900 - 3200 rpm if both had lockup torque converters
just FYI you don't even have to rebuild a 4l80 for boost. a buddy of mine has a 4l80 in his drag truck that's making 1200 to the wheel with a 9.3 quarter mile time and all he has is a shift kit. although if you have more money to spare in not saying don't rebuild it but if you don't got the money you don't need to do that.
Nice video. Would you do anything differently if you did it again? I have a 05 4x4 Yukon 5.3L. 233,000 miles. Looking to get a used cheap broken 4L60/65/70 to rebuild with my teen as a DIY learning project. To have ready. I found a used one for $60, with nothing but Reverse working. Thanks!
That’s awesome, got to get them started young haha. Honestly I don’t have much to complain about I’m pretty happy with the results. If had to choose some stuff I probably would have upgraded the clutch steels to kolene steels and as well as some other upgrades in the transmission but then again if you’re doing a factory rebuild it’s kind of irrelevant. But yeah just addressing common issues, just to make it that more reliable.
Nice informative video keep up the great work 💯 thanks for leaving the links need to order the parts 💯👌
Ofc i know alot of people trying to follow the build as a guide! 💯🔥
@@ErikRose_ yessir good work 💯 and happy new years
Love this truck 🔥💪🏽
Were only getting started! 🔥
Hopefully that flex plate is sfi or your gonna snap it when you boost it! but great job dude keep it up
ill look into that but it had great reviews lol
"you pay what you get for"
lolol
its true 🤣
Nice 👍
Quick question. What would be a fun street combo for a a bit heavier extended cab truck. Say, cam, tq converter and rear end gears for an
N/A 5.3/4l80 combo
Gotchu ! BTR Truck norris cam! , long tube headers, 3200 stall , yukon locker and 4.11 gears ! youd love it ! 🔥
@@ErikRose_ thanks boss 👍
Have 2 of them. 500$ each
One is a GM Goodwrench reman
Video starts @4:39 ✅
Take the 4l60 and find a stock 4.8 with some ring gap and a lil turbski and maybe drop it in something small, Itll give the 4Llimpy a little longer chance to survive being in a lighter car lol
that’s actually not a bad idea 🤔
@@ErikRose_ first time I’ve ever heard that 🤣
Haha my brother has a spare 5.3 as well on a stand. So that with some ring gap and 4l60e sheesh. Lol it would be nice in a smaller car.
@@ErikRose_ get a decent stall and a shift kit even and just give er the beans.
Looking good my Brother 👍 Happy New Years from Deep South Texas 956
Happy New Years brotha! Thanks for the support!
Idk why you got comments abiut the hands, i didnt even notice em 😂 keep up the good work very informative
lol, thanks man people always have something to say haha. Anyways appreciate you watching 🙏
Good info, my 4L65E is not liking my 2 step. 👍
Glad i could help brotha! 🔥
I got my 6.0 n 4l80 in my garage cleaning em n shit. Yo vids cool n helpful
Ofc bro thanks for the support! Got lots more coming! 🤝
Great video thanks
of course! 👌
I’m following your build and about to do the same but 4wd. Keep it coming man
Nice cant wait to start the conversion! 🔥
🔥🔥 like always
So im at risk of having my driveshaft exploding if i remove my speed limiter?
Apparently high speeds are dangerous lol
I’ve heard the stock driveshafts are only balanced to around 100 mph
Will the crossmember work for a 4x4? I have a 08 gmc sierra with the transfer case just wondering if it will work or will I need a different cross member
Hey bro I was looking your video when you installed those long pipe headers, and I saw your headliner, I have a single cab covered on Grey suede, I would like to send it yo you, it would look good on the truck., where are you located?
??
Awesom setup what drop is that thanks??
4/6 drop brotha 👌
You ever gonna relocate the shifter to the floor? I wanna do it to my 4l60e but literally have no idea what to do other than get the shift kit i want
I actually do plan on doing this at some point bro! 👌
Someone help me out I did a 6.0 and 4l80 on my 03 gmc but the truck stalls with I put it on drive if someone know something lmk
what harness did you get? if its a cheap chinese one thats a good place to start those cause all types of issues.
You have a part number or link for that flexplate/spacer/bolt combo? Thanks.
Where did you get the bracket for the engine stand to hold the trans?
we actually made it ourselves lol just welded a bunch of pieces together
Ill buy that 4l60
im in the LA area !
@ErikRose_ how much you want for it
What would u recommend I do to a 5.3 Silverado with a stage one cam ( I just bought it on thanksgiving )
longtube headers forsure bro 🔥
Did you have any problems once you put the turbo in to run crossover pipe with the 4L80
Not there yet starting the turbo install in a few days ! 🔥
Haven’t got to that point yet the truck is still NA, but if there is any issues or things to work around I’ll try to make sure I address them in the video.
Can I used the stock driveshaft or will I need to change it ?
youll more than likely need to change it bro mine came out alot shorter than the original one 👍
Sounds louder now
4L80s rev high cause the gear ratios are low honestly unless his truck is boosted he lost horsepower
@@Legendary_Frankthe ratio difference is not a whole lot and you don’t lose horsepower by gear ratio it just changes the power band but the most important reason for this swap is so the 4lslippy doesn’t gernade
@@daredevildare3641 it’s very different first gear on a 60 is 3.06 and first gear on a 80 is 2.48 that’s a major difference
@@Legendary_Frank that’s good for most things, easier to start a burnout and easier to start moving a heavier rig, I got 33x12.5 and my 4l60e doesn’t like to get them moving too good even with 3:73 gears
i have an 02 suburban and need a new tranny. any idea which i should get?
depends if you’re gonna keep it stop just do another 4l60 and add an trans cooler
When you build this transmission for performance can it still pull things ?
Hey what dipstick tube did you use
Currently using one for the th400 fits it but could be a bit longer
you won’t be using a different yoke or replacing the u joint?
Yeah I upgraded to a aluminum driveshaft and 1350 yokes.
You pay what you get for... 😂
Basically 🤣
“Yeah uh hey bro could you stop doing a natural human gesture when you’re talking and filming content for us to watch for free?”
Lmao all the comments telling dude to not talk with his hands. Shut up and just watch the videos 🙄
Hahah honestly just happens don’t even think about it when im filming 🤣 appreciate u brotha
@@ErikRose_ no problem my man! Just wild people complaining about that. On something you take the time to put out for us for free, like I said lol.
So I could reuse my stock driveshaft for the 4l60? And could I reuse my torque converter?
No the torque converter is a different bolt pattern than the 4l60e and the driveshaft will work but you will need a 4l80e slip yoke and might need to shorten the driveshaft a bit.
@@ErikRose_ thanks for the info🙏🏽
@@RDvisionsonly need too shorten drive shaft if it’s 4x4
so i have a lq9 6.0 would you hapen to have a link to the proper flex plate ?
I think it would be the same one I put one mine the flat flexplate with the spacer, but I’m not exactly sure.
I usually repin my own harness for free
We we’re feeling lazy haha
Would it be the same parts needed for 4x4?
Probably only difference would be the crossmember but most of it should be the same and the 4wd 4l80e
How much you spend in total total
about $900 bro but thats because i got a good deal on my 4l80 on offer for $400 !
Did you have to reflash the computer for it
Yeah reflash was needed to get it going
Any idea if it's 4x4 will 4l60e transfer case swap right to 4l80e
I think the splines are different, probably won’t work unless you can swap the spines out.
What do i need for a driveshaft
Depends on your setup, but if it’s single cab 2wd. You honestly can just use the stock drive shaft and just change the slip yoke.
I wanna do the same swap but can it be done with a 4.8 engine??
Yeah you can do it on a 4.8
Great video with good content but please bro stop talking with your hands. It is distracting to see you making the same hand gestures over and over. Keep up the good work on the truck.
Appreciate the support my boy! I will take note and work on that 🤣
Adds to the video be you'reself bro 😂@@ErikRose_
Would’ve been ok if I didn’t read this comment now it’s all I can see 😂
@@destinhook3826 its hand language 🤣
You bought it off Ebay right lol that's gotta be the same one I was looking at.
Yeah sure did.
@@ErikRose_ Hahahh dang, I didn't buy it cause like 3 months ago my friend who does transmissions said the swap is a lot of work and money, decided to let him build out the 4l65e for more power and durability instead.
What a good deal that sucker was 400 bucks glad to see someone who races got it.
Appreciate it bro, yeah it’s not cheap it all adds up quick haha. Yeah you should be set with that 4l65e being built. Good luck with the build..
What shifter linkage did you use bro ?
Stock shifter linkage, just had to buy the 4l80e bracket for the linkage.
wat stall do u recommend for (6.0 stage 2 cam, long tubes)
2800 stall
What’s the link for the flex plate
do you think all of this applies to an 04 Denali Yukon?
If you have a 6.0 or awd then it might be slightly different.
This is exactly what info that I was looking for thanks
Glad we could help, thanks for watching..
Is this the same for a 06 crew cab??? lol
if you have the same engine and trans should be the same bro 👌
Do I need the fly wheel spacer for my Lq9 engine
I don’t think but not completely sure, I would double check first
Asking for myself 😂😂 they have anymore 4l80’s for sale….. seriously 🤔
i will be the first to know 👀😂
I never understood why everyone wants to 4l80 swap, I'll take a built 4l60 over a built 4l80 any day.
Then you have never dealt with gm trans then . Every drag car runs a th400 (ie 4l80) over a th350 (ie 4l60) . No matter if you tow or race a 80 is better stronger . Better oiling . List goes on and on . 4l60 is decent for stock that’s is . Spending money on it is a waste
Wilson Mark Jackson Frank Young Barbara
something like that! 😂
what dipstick did you use ? part number or link ?
Is your motor stock?
Yup, Stock other than a cam.
Any one saw the fire coming out of the hood
It was just a bunch of leaves 🍁 flying out from under the hood not a fire 😂
Sell me that 4l60 tho
LA area hot & ready !
