He isn’t terrified because they are on the show. The look the boyfriend has wouldn’t be that look outside the studio.
However, if outside the studio, the boyfriend would have the look of trying to be hard, and it would be up to the father to see if he is indeed hard or not. It would be the father who would have to put up or shut it, not the boyfriend!

As someone who has met this man, he was one of the best teachers i had ever had. He cared for his students and made my 6th grade better and the stories he told were so great. He had never yelled at my class and whenever I was down he told me to smile. Truly a man that had shaped my life and i’m sorry that he has to see his daughter go through this

I can’t begin to explain what it feels like when someone you love is in an abusive relationship and you can’t get them out. These abusers isolate, gaslight them until they break down and believe it’s all their fault.
My best friend since high school was in a 13 year abusive relationship. He isolated her so bad she’d see her family maybe on holidays and if she did show up he’d get angry about something and they’d leave in 30 min.
But it was always behind everyone’s back. Whenever he talked to her friends or family he was the nicest guy in the world.

People who weren't raised to recognize that cycle are more easily duped to believe the "real" guy is the facade used in the "honeymoon" faze. This father is no idiot, he saw exactly what games that young man was playing and kudos to him for not shaming his daughter for believing those tactics, initially. He's a true warrior. I don't think the abusive boyfriend realizes how close he is to disappearing one day, he is in real danger, I have to stop watching this stuff, makes me upset to hear this guy flaunting his abusive behavior in front of the parents, every parents nightmare is their daughter falling for a horrible man like this, her future is looking really sad.

People are VERY good at hiding things, putting on a front, an act, a persona.
There are men who act just like the father does here; men who were actually at fault. Appearing to be higher, the better person, more intelligent, more capable, etc.

@@OkabexKurisu Yes, she was simply lead to believe that this was ok and her parents were wrong all together, She’s just like every teenage girl, she fell in love with someone who she thought was gonna be her soulmate and believed he was a good guy, but sadly like other girls, she fell into a pattern of being abused and mistreated and then was lead to blame her parents for those misfortunes and it turned into the boyfriend calling the father a racist, however i don’t think that’s the case, i think he’s trying to make excuses for his actions, it’s always the abusive ones who will try to justify their actions until they are put in prison, personally i was in a abusive relationship but it was a little different, she controlled me and it hurt, i was in therapy for 6 months for that, that’s how hard it can be for someone to go through that stuff, but all things considered she was just mistlead and emotionally crippled. i hope that to this day she is alright and is in a better position then she was before because god forbid she stayed with that boy, idk much about him because after the story went to dr phil, most of the history of it went dark, and thank god it did because it would’ve ruined this girls life from the mere mention of it.
