I bought the Polk then a Hisense 2.1 & have to say that the Hisense is way superior in everyway, you can have it real loud with no distortion & the sound is gunty yet amazing, crisp & clear, though the Polk is very crisp ect as well but when you turn it up it becomes distorted, too bassey yet you turn the bass down & its too tinny/high pitched, the Hisense is incredible for sound, i love my heavy rock & this soundbar is perfect for it, outstanding infact the Polk is no good for the music i love but is good if you're hard at hearing the voices in movies with loud so-called background music. I would highly recommend the Hisense over this Polk soundbar to anyone who loves music ect

Well I am glad I purchased this soundbar. I just purchased a 85" Samsung TV from Costco for $1099 and thought gosh I am sure its going to need some sound but I didn't have much more money to spend on a BOSE system and my wife was already pissed at me lol

I bought mine at BestBuy a few weeks ago, along with their Rocketfish universal sound bar mount. It allows the bar to be mounted on the bottom side of the television, it works well, but a little pricey. The Polk actually sounds fantastic, it projects the sound out into the room, and solves many issues with the now common unintelligable dialouge that many shows and movies are plagued with. For the money, I do not think you could do much better. I continue to be impressed with the sound we get out of this. Just so you know, this replaced a very expensive home theater system, over $10,000 worth of equipment, so when I say this sounds good, it sounds good.

I love mine - great sound. Thanks for this review it makes me feel good about my choice. This is my first sound bar and I have a couple questions. Firstly, why does it lag so long when i turn on my LG HDVT? I have it hooked up to the suggested USB (yes I have the correct one). So the tv comes on but it's a good 30 seconds or longer before the sound come on. Do they all work this way? Any way to sync it up so the picture & sound come on at the same time? And my last question is about the remote that comes with it. I have no idea what the different settings are or how to manage them. There is nothing in the manual or on there website. Basically I don't use it and have it set to my tv's remote. I would really appreciate your input on my two questions but especially my first question for audio & video to come on at the same time. 👍

Yes that's exactly what I'm finding, plus real bassey & if you turn the bass down then it's too high pitched, not liking it for music via Spotify, I bought a Hisense 2.1 for cheaper & OMG it's grunty, perfect sounds for both movies and music, so we have both in two separate rooms & my partners like wow the Hisense kicks arse blows the other one right out & it's still' so clear and crisp as well, the Polk is good but not for grunt IMO the Hisense you can have it loud with no distortion unlike the Polk.

Yeah like in between movie scenes with action scenes it sounds clear and super strong and bass is clear but then it goes to a scene when they’re talking and I have to turn it up. Then it goes back to music or or some type of action etc and I have to turn it down.
I’ve had mine 3 years I do recommend it especially for the price cuz it’s great but that does seem to be an issue.
I was looking at the s4 but I’ve been seeing this Hisense 2.1 soundbar seems to be a steal for the price with Dolby atmos

I have this installed in our living room on a 2017, 55 inch Sony Bravia 800E television with the Best Buy RocketFish Universal Sound Bar Mount.
The Polk sound bar, It looked and felt a bit cheap and flimsy when I removed it from the box, I was like, "Oh man, this is going to sound like..." Well, I went ahead and installed it, it mounted easily and the hook up was simple with the supplied HDMI cable.
Well, Ha Ha, the sound continues to impress the heck out of me! The subwoofer took a day to find itself, it eventually hooked up, no clue what was going on there. The sub is a bit boomy, I have it turned all the way down via the remote. I believe placement will solve some if not all of this issue of "Boominess". Other than that, this bar sounds incredible for $149, I mean for what it is. It fills the room nicely and does the job.
This actually replaced a pretty expensive home theater set up, I tore all of that out and went with a stereo 2 channel system. I live with my 79 yo mother, and it was just to much for her, and quite frankly myself included. So I needed a viewing/sound solution that she could control with one remote and be able to hear the voicing on the shows we both watch. The home theater was great for movies, but totally sucked for normal TV viewing.
For $149 I was skeptical, but this little bar blew me away, the voicing is crystal clear, the sound is projected in a good way directly to our listening area. Both of us are very happy with the results, we can now understand what is being said on the TV, as this bar accomplished everything I needed it to do for a good price. Oh, we are down to one remote! Like I said, I thought I would be returning this bar and upgrading to a more expensive one...
    Nope, it is staying.

Does the Subwoofer give you enough thump?? Is it good for movies? I want some decent Bass and hoping this will suffice.

    • @michaelwright1602
      @michaelwright1602 Рік тому +1

@@jeffsond It is background fill, will not shake the room, simply gives you a more natural sound. You can get a frequency blocker off of Amazon, I use a 70% cut off that feeds off of the TV set via a 3.5mm to RCA after to feed two SVS SB3000 subs.
You plug in your speaker normally. Then plug the 3.5mm plug into the headphone out jack on the TV. The subwoofer(s) cable plugs into that. Then I have the frequency blocker plugged into the other end of that cable at the subwoofer(s).
These blockers block any frequency above 70 hertz. They also make a 50 hertz blocker. I have the cable on an A/B RCA switch, so that I can turn it on and off for movie night. As the little Polk sub is perfect for regular TV viewing.

@@michaelwright1602 just purchased and installed the S3. Found it on Facebook marketplace for $100. The wife and I who have a terrible time watching movies without the words on the screen we’re thoroughly impressed. The voice projection was excellent. We can actually watch a movie without reading the script.
I will say it won’t shake the room but gives it a full room sound. Music is much better and with the added bass we were very impressed.
