  • Today we're going to install a soundbar from Polk Audio, the Signa S2. I've wanted to upgrade the sound on my 65 inch Samsung TV and this did the trick!
    Amazon link to the Polk Audio Signa S2 that I purchased: amzn.to/3XoWUa8

    I absolutely love the polk signa S2 espically for the noney i paid for it. Less the $150 & it rocks & gets rather loud. To bad its now discontinued cause really is a fantastic soundbar for the money. Great purchase

    I have the S2 and it serve the purpose. Not upgradeable, no Atmos or bells and whistles but for a budget sound system, it rocks.

    I have the same sound bar. For some reason my sub disconnected the wireless signal & can’t get it to re-sync.
    Calling Polk is pointless they barely understood what I was saying. I might just have to scrap it and get another sound bar. Maybe upgrade it to a better one. This one’s OK for the price, at least while it still worked.

    If people don't like the bass you can always tune the bass box with polyfill, add or remove by stuffing the box with more or less of it. Super easy to do.

    I’m looking to get this as a gift for my cousin. Are you having any connectivity issues with the wireless subwoofer? This and the soundbar turning off after 15 mins seem to be the main complaints with this soundbar.

    • @ProjectDIY2
      @ProjectDIY2  2 роки тому +1

      Never had an issue. It does turn off after 15 minutes if there's no sound from the tv but it's never been a problem for me.

    I saw a few questions on hooking up more subwoofers with this, or any sound bar for that matter... Here is what I did.
    I have this S2, and I hooked up my two SVS SB3000 subs up to the TV for movie night. For general TV viewing, we still use the little sub that came with the sound bar. Real easy to hook up, you need a 3.5mm male plug with a pair of female RCA outputs (plugs) for two subs, or a simple 3.5mm male to RCA female adapter. You can use a wireless send/receive unit if you do not want cables on the floor. Emotiva, SVS and Dayton Audio sell them, there are others on Amazon for less, or simply use cables.
    You will use the headphone output jack on the back of your TV, that is where you plug the 3.5mm to RCA adapter in. It should be hot at all times, and will not interfere with your sound bar. Then either attactch the wireless sending unit you purchased separately or run an RCA cable. If you want a wireless kit and do not know what they are, just go to Amazon and search for "Wireless Subwoofer Kit", a bunch will pop up. They start at around $50 and up. A good one will cost around $100. And an RCA cable, Amazon Basics work great, you can get any length you want, they start at around $8 up to $20.
    On the sub, I had to install these, the FMOD Crossover Pair 50 Hz Low Pass inline filters. I attached mine at each sub.
    www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0006N41DS/ref=ewc_pr_img_1?smid=A3DMYIN9K0RYXC&psc=1
    I tried using the internal crossover in the sub, but the way I have my system set up, these crossovers were needed to keep the subs from simply being speakers. These filters solved that issue, so only 50hz and below is fed to the subs. Try without and see if you can set the internal crossover in your particular setup, if the entire frequency range is going to your sub, pick up the filters. They run around $50
    Hope this helps
