Normally love Matt's review - but this one felt extremely unfair for the poor Tucson - the value, gadgets and extras you get in these is incredible, much better than its European counterparts.
The problem is that not even one car manufacturer outside of Europe will sponsor his reviews that is why they got splashed with the BS . . .comparesment of Peugeot and Hyundai, video stopped, next review . . . don't waste your time on this one
@@factsmatter6980 The video wasn't good because of this negativity and bias, and while we can and at least I will get over it, but they surely need to redo this video. It was extremely biased and the "copying" part could've been applied to just about every single car on the roads today.
First time ever that I found a carwow review just bad. Matt comparing the design to all the other cars was so uncomfortable to watch and it seemed like he was trying really hard to hate this car for no real reason at all... Personally I love Hyundai's new design philosophy and this car is the best looking in its class and I don't think this is an unpopular opinion.
He really has a strong biais against Hyundai/Kia and Genesis. He just doesn’t like them and every single review he makes about them are just totally wrong and you can obviously see that!
@Yule Calma are you serious? 😂 They changed all of their lines they made all their cars more aggressive they want to change the way they are perceived each new model follows their new stance on car design.. That's a design philosophy, it's pretty easy to understand.
I hope he's joking about "copying other cars".. this thing is one of the few new cars that are actually original and unique from everything else on the road. Those "similarities" he pointed out are massive stretches imo. Going by that logic, you could point out that ANY car copies every other car made.
Yeah they’re design trends in the industry it isn’t copying. It’s extremely hard to copy different elements from other cars and make them work on a different body shape and surfacing
I felt you tried too hard to look for design plagiarism when there wasn’t any . You should have just said that you think it’s ugly instead of the copying garbage you came out with .
first time i'm not convinced by Matt. I thought this car is stunning. not a bad angle on it. far jump ahead for Hyundai. design language is similar on all cars depending on what year it is. 2021 has it's own language and this car is a nice balance of it all

Saw this car in white and I'm in Love with it. It was parked next to so many High range SUVs but something about it just stood out more. When in motion the diamond effect really captivates you
The whole design copying thing was so over done and forced. Take one of the most unique cars in the market and call it a copy cat by picking out the most minute details? Most of them don't even look anything like the so called originals... Oh wait, this car has 4 wheels, a pair of headlights and taillights just like all the other cars... Hyundai is such a copy cat, am I right?
First time ever that I found a carwow review just bad. The design is quite unique, I saw it in the flesh being photographed in Lisbon for an advert and it looked great. Mat didn't even mention the unique lights. It seemed like he was trying to hate this car for no real reason at all so he could promote other cars in the 'pop out link'. Mat seemed bored, tired or having a bad day. Call in sick next time eh.
Yeah I actually find this car’s design rather unique and very easily recognisable on the road. Seen a few of these and never mistaken them for sth else - unlike some other brands (like Ford). They also just look good in my opinion.
I agree with some others viewers, this is not a neutral review, i never expect in his reviews those no sense comparisson and try to make it look bad when its not. Matt doesn´t even talk about the car, talked about audis, and mercedez, and Aliens and is really giving us a perception of personal point of view and not a professional car review...
No intention of buying a Hyundai/any softroader but this car is definitely distinctive. Most of these are bland , this is edgy and looks a bit interesting on the road...Bizarre review. Definitely feels like there is a bit of an agenda against Hyundai.

As someone who enjoys carwow’s review videos and relies on Matt’s opinion about cars when I want to buy one, this seems a bit biased and weird. Tbh this car is beautifully designed and all practical and well priced compared to some overpriced junk...!!
Really? I felt like finally someone said what I’ve been thinking for years! Almost every other Hyundai and Kia is a kitsch hodgepodge of other manufacturers’ ideas, design elements and engineering approaches, and consequently it looks and drives and performs like a sub-par hodgepodge. “Not brilliant, but okay I guess.”
Its the first review i notice, that concludes that the new Tucson isnt such a good car! In general, i really enjoy Mat Watson's reviews, but this time dont know why am pissed off, i think its a really cynical and unfair review for this new Hyundai car.
I'm not a fan of how this new Tucson looks, prefer the old one, more subtle and classy, agree with Matt on this one but the rest of video is oh boi, a complete rubbish. Diamond patterns on the rear bumper copied from C-HR interior headliner. I was like wtf when he said that 😆 Probably first time disliking CarWow video, that copycat part is so cringe I want to puke 🤢
I was unsure why the video got so many dislikes, but then I reached the Exterior Design part and yeah, Matthew seems quite biased when reviewing Korean cars. It set a bad tone for the rest of the video, at least for me it did.
Yet another small SUV/crossover - maybe that's why. Maybe people are finally coming to their senses and will stop buying these hideous and useless cars. Qashqais, Kadjars, Sportages, Tiguan, Vitaras, Kugas, CRvs just to name a few, all of them should be scrapped. The sad part is they are literally everywhere. The good part is that those with good and practical taste now stands. Next to these monstronsities even estates look elegant.
I think that’ll always be the case for such a divisive looking car, those who like it will really like it and those who hate it will really hate it. Either way there’ll be more comments than for a more discrete looking car
After driving it for around 25k miles for around a year and a half i think this is a really good SUV from hyundai. It's great looking in the night and one of the most comfortable drives in this price range.

What I'm saying is, it is simply impossible to "copy" the cars designs.
The only "copy" I noticed was the front which looks like Mercedes, like he said. The light bar at the back, several manufacturers have adopted that..Lincoln,Porsche, Audi, Lexus etc.. But the rest is not copied..looks like a fresh new design. Nice car.

You know, Matt, Hyundai are going to sell an insane number of these cars. And, as you pass one every few minutes everywhere you travel, you're going to be thinking about this review and the viewers' reaction to it. Matt's videos are usually informative, even if he does have his preferences and biases [who doesn't?] It felt on this occasion like he really didn't want to be there and was in a hurry to get the review done ['I need to get to the shops before they close in an hour"] --or angry he got a 150HP one to drive. The car was the victim of his bad mood and it felt to me like his mind had mostly already been made up about the car. It's odd that this review doesn't feature much driving or much detail. The car, in another version, is meant to have a remote parking feature. It would have been nice to find out if that's pointless or user-friendly. Does the new lighting design bring benefits or drawbacks? He said the visibility is fine but the turning circle is so-so: it would have been nice to see that in action in trying to parallel park. What about the side cameras? I hope we see Matt return to form soon.

I’ve seen far worse and much uglier cars getting rave reviews from Matt than this car did. A shockingly disappointing review from CarWow . Too much VAG bias and the whole 'copycat' thing went way too overboard . The Designers I believe have done a brilliant job with the exterior/interior design , nailed it and its certainly very striking compared to the ever so dull (though classy) VAG cars. You should SHORTLIST this NOT consider it ! Can't wait for carbuyer or carguru's review , hopefully much more promising instead of this waffle . Let's not forget , Hyundai/Kia have come a long way to where they are now , hiring some the some of the best talent in recent years (engineers/designers from 'rival' German marques) to help them advance . A brand that is proudly ambitious , and not afraid to push the boundaries . I'm bitterly disappointed and upset , which is why for the first time I have disliked a carwow review .
Consider?! This car looks far better and interesting than a VW, and its reliable too! Plus you get good value for money. Sorry to say but one of the reasons I stopped following carwow was because Matt keeps making repeated comparisons of every Asian car to VW cars or high end cars. He keeps complaining about aspects that are irrelevant and just too nit-picky. But when it's a VW group car or high end car, his attitude is as energetic/alive as having a crush. He doesn't realise that Hyundai isn't targeting wealthy car reviewers like himself, they're targeting mass market clients, who are budgeting but want best value for money, plus lengthy warranty. What does VW have? Snobbish dealers? Quality that goes terrible after 5 years? Fancy options that catch fault within a year of ownership? Only 2-3 years warranty? High price tag on just about every single of their models. Rivals offer cheaper, better value and longer warranties. In Belgium the new Tucson is selling like wildfire, putting a tough time for VW. The overall public reception is positive, people love the Tucson. If this was some VW group car, Matt would've said "BUY". Maty keeps showing off his personal cars, I can respect that he feels great about himself, but if you're going to be reviewing cars, please leave your personal comparitive thoughts at home.

Hyundai Tuscon is one of the best looking cars on the market at the moment! Come on, Mat...!!
This was a weird review from Matt. Clearly biased for absolutely no obviously reason. When any reviewer is going to point out the grated pattern in molded black pladtic trim and call it a copy, its hard to take them serious after. Dozens of cars have that exact trim feature.

I have noticed that no good Hyundai reviews have come from this channel in years. Disappointing how much of an issue Matt seems to have with this brand. Pretty much every comparison that was made for this Tucson looked nothing like what it was being compared to, with exception of the RAV4 wheel arch. I’ve seen far worse and much uglier cars getting rave reviews from Matt than this car did. I get how a vehicle looks is up to personal preference, but people come to this channel for a review of the vehicle, not to see how crap you think it is.

Mat please try to hide more you are very biased against Korean cars. They caught up with the Germans and now they are pulling in front of them in many ways.
Exactly this. Also at the end "it doesn't do anything unique". What? it is the most unique Crossover on the market right now. Save for maybe the Cupra Formentor. Meanwhile a Tiguan and Ateca get a shortlist. And they are unique then?
