My wife picked hers up 5 weeks ago and absolutely loves it. She has a creamy interior which is stunning. Also because of the deals it worked out cheaper on the finance to get a brand new car compared to a 2 year old one. She averages around 47mpg which is also a bonus. I agree its not the fastest or a back lane beater but if she wanted that she could of had my Mini Cooper s. Great review keep up the good work. Tony H
@@amitkhade01 I got a brand new 21 plate (July 21) hybrid ultimate auto on pcp for £444 at 3.1% apr, no deposit, compared to £448 at 8.9% on a 19 plate 18k miles on. So didn’t go with that original dealership and phoned round and ended up in Blackpool. I couldn’t believe it. Didn’t make sense! I’ve just picked up ‘71 plate Tucson Ultimate top spec. I don’t mind the lane departure warning being on. Don’t know how much acceleration you need ( maybe you don’t have the 230 edition I do) but it’s good enough for me in eco mode. If I put it sport it will fly. It’s not a sports car. It’s just what I want. Metallic black black leather interior everything about the car is great
We have a N-Line self charging hybrid on order and hope (fingers crossed with a following wind) to get it towards the end on December. Was originally hoping November but the pesky chip shortage may be playing a part. I can’t wait. Test drove the 230 hybrid in the premium or ultimate speck but wanted the N-Line for the looks. Been a VW family for years but I agree that Hyundai are putting some of the more premium manufacturers to shame and the pricing is very very appealing. I was wanting to stay away from the £500+ VED per annum and with a price well below the 40k threshold this is achieved. Styling is right on for me, I love both the front with the headlights and the rear with then seamless rear lights going all the way across. Great honest review, really enjoyed it.
We have the Ultimate PHEV delivered in 1st week July, just completed 1300 miles, averaging 116mpg. Including a 400 mile trip to Devon. Haven’t put fuel in in over 6weeks. This alone saves us £40 a week in fuel. Yes most journeys are short trips, but that’s why it makes perfect sense. The pure electric range far superior to previous outlander, which almost needed to be plugged in every trip to ensure it had sufficient range. Very impressed so far as our first Hyundai. Agree fully with comments regarding looks and interior would definitely place it in the German finish and trim level. Don’t knock it until you have tried it!
Andy funny coincidence..today I’ve just test driven the phev ultimate and what a car..guess what’s going..my Mitsubishi Outlander phev…been a brilliant car but battery only mileage isn’t the best..what would you say real world your getting out of yours
I've never considered a Hyundai before - for all the reasons you say in your vid.... drab, plasticky and cheap interior. I test drove the new 2022 Tucson last week - unbelievably good. I loved the look and feel, loved the spec, and for the type of driving I do every day the drive is spot on. Just placed an order for the hybrid in Ultimate spec, and now counting down.... just 20 weeks to go!
Having had German cars for the last 25 years, buying a different brand was a bit daunting. The reason for a change? I’d just got fed up with the arrogance of German manufacturers showroom staff. Having researched and tested many brands and models, I finally went for the Tucson N Line S. So glad I did. I’ve had it for 18 months now and love it!
I have just purchased a brand new Lexus 250H (Hybrid) with an EV switch (electric only switch) this is good for about 1 mile of constant electric only drive, however 58% of my driving is in electric only mode according to the onboard computer/APP as the brakes/coasting and petrol engine/battery generator recharges the battery as you drive. Cost £360/month inc VAT with £3000 deposit and a £14300 balloon payment - this was cheaper than a new TUCSON. I am getting 57MPG. Boot is tiny though, the car overall is fantastic. Keep up the videos - love them.
Great review, lane departure assist, the first thing I turned off in my BMW 330e MSport, it drove me mad. There is definitely something to be said for re-charge hybrid versus plug ins, I had 3 BMW 320EDs and loved them... Hyundai is certainly coming on as a brand. The cars of the future possibly?
I hired the Acent in the 00’s and as a cheap hire car, with aircon and good fuel economy. Electric Windows. It was good. This is bloody brilliant and worth every penny. Shame you only managed this little review after 7 weeks.
Sorry, my englisch is not soooo well. So I write it down in my motherlanguage german. Habe a good time and thx for your exquisite work. Bye bye from André
Great filming and review, as I've mentioned on other channels I love the Tuscon, it's def not without its niggles, like you mentioned the lane departure one is a major gripe of mine, but on the plus side, the looks are fantastic from every angle, the interior superb, the performance of 0-60 in 7.7secs from a 1.6 engine/elec motor in SUV is impressive and as you say its not going to be in Ferrari territory but I'm averaging 48mpg on m/ways and over 50mpg around town and country lanes, Love it!
Interesting review, as a new owner (2 months Ultimate Hybrid), I would agree with you on the points about the lane management (annoying) and lack of a gear lever. I am not with you on the 'sport' setting which I find really changes the dynamics of the car. I also don't understand some of the comments re it being an EV - it is not it is a hybrid and use its electric drive in a blended manner in operation. Nor is it a diesel but does return a diesel challenging mpg (mine is just under 50 mpg). If I was to rate my previous Ateca at 7.5 then the Tuscon is a 9, based on its performance (do you need more than 230bhp in a family SUV?), economy (43mpg), drive and looks are all better than the Seat. Having owned mercs and audis I would also say that the internal finish is on a par. On top of that is a load of tech which makes it an enjoyable drive
Not doing a single mile of night driving to show off the futuristic front end after owning it for seven weeks and 2 thousand miles is sadly a poor review !
Picked up my Tucson Ultimate self charging hybrid last night, making it the 10th Hyundai my wife and myself have owned since 1995, 2 Accents, an Elantra, a Galloper, an older Tucson, an iX35 and 3 Santa Fe’s, and I’ve never had any serious issues with any of them.
Good review, have been driving an ultimate for a year now, love it, main annoying feature is lane warning, drives me nuts. Other than that, really can't fault it. Absolutely recommend it
Great review, I had a 3 day demo in an ultimate hybrid myself, and I totally loved it. I personally loved driving it, and it can be quick enough when you want it to be, but in reality the car encourages you to just drive normally. I could not believe the quality of it, its just so impressive. Personally when the time comes I would go for the n line a spec, and probably the plug in hybrid, but only because its cheaper for company car tax than the normal hybrid. Deffo a car to consider, there that good.
Korean car build is a combination of the good of Japanese and Continental. Owning one for a decade, that is what I have observed. The same can't be said for the Japanese which has been stagnant most of the time with very gradual improvement. Between Qashqai and Tucson, I love the Qashqai exterior looks but the Tucson overall is a better design, better quality and well packaged altogether.
The car may be Korean designed but the current Tucson is built in Europe, the Czech Republic if I remember correctly, Hyundai have definitely come a long way from the days when they were building old Mitsubishi designs.
In reality it looks way better. Black is the color to go for. I got mine in January and I wasn’t expecting to draw that much attention with a Hyundai tbh
Great review. As a daily car in really struggling to find a reason not to get this. My only hesitation is that I don't know whether to go self charging or phev.
Im in the USA, and just picked up a 2022 model. the test drive impressed me, and im only 2 days in but so far its growing on me more and more. im looking forward to spening more time in it. i have been looking at review videos to see what peoples MPG have really been in real world, and in USA my Blue model says 38mpg on the sticker and all the reviewers have the top tier models and seem to be getting 35 to 36 US MPG, which is quite incredible for the class of vehicle it is. I came from a F30 bmw 4cyl turbo, tuned to about 315hp, and this hyundai is def not a disappointment or a slouch.
My wife drives the first generation Hyundai i10. Its now 9 years old has been utterly reliable since buying new and returns 45 mpg( more on long.)Yes its got scratchy plastics and not much equipment but on the plus side no annoying tech, I hate lane departure warning as well.
The wife has a small Kia and it’s great. I run the Mitsubishi PHEV outlander. The 1.6 engine is too small on the Kia,, my last PHEV was 2litre, , it needed a bigger engine. My next one has the 2.5 litre engine, this works great with little difference to mp95 Save 13k and buy the Mitsubishi, it’s got 95% of the gizmos as well, but not the sun roof!
My wife and I almost bought the "AWD Preferred trim with Trend package" petrol (Gas I'm in Canada), with the gear stick and dial dash. We just didn't like the button gear selection or the digital dash in our opinion it looks cheap n tacky compared to the stick gear selection and dial dash. If Hyundadi had done the hybrid option with a gear stick and dial dash we would have bought it. After test driving 10 different SUV's from the Mitsubishi-RVR to the Lexus NX 300 we nded up with the Mazda AWD CX-5 GT turbo. But the Tucson was a very close second. I know they are very different SUV's, but bang for the buck the build and drive quality the Mazda won.
Glad you didn't buy it. I bought 2021 Tucson ultimate loaded, so far I got 9k miles and the car struggles to shift gears smoothly. I noticed the problem when the car was only
@@kenworthvspeterbilt5238 Sorry to hear that. That really sucks. My wife and I test drive over 10 SUV’s in this class. Including the RAV4. I assumed we would be buying a RAV 4 but we found the RAV 4 to be underpowered, and had a wallowy ride also the engine was very noisy. We came away from the test drive disappointed. (I own a Toyota FJ) my wife still loves her CX-5 GT turbo. I really like it too. When I’m “allowed “to drive it. LOL
i20N or i30N fastback for next time… I hope you get a Kia EV6 GT-line S when they are available, that looks a very interesting EV. The GT version with 582 bhp should be awesome, but that’s not coming until late 2022 I believe. Kia and Hyundai are the manufacturer’s to watch… just look how far they have come in the last 20 years, I can’t think of any other brand with such leaps in design and quality. When I looked at the new Kia Sorento as a Landrover Discovery owner I was blown away by the quality of materials and fit and finish. Only thing I wish is that the phev’s and hev’s had a larger combustion engine like a 2.0 - 2.5 to have more torque and refinement when pushed.
Good review Ped. I do actually quite like the external look of that if i'm honest. It reminds me a bit of the Nissan approach, such as with the Qashqai in a way. Very cost effective and, as you say, bags of kit as standard. I bought a Qashqai years ago and to be fair it was a very practical and capable car. I just died of boredom, so got rid of it for a BMW M135. I couldn't believe the amount of kit that came as standard. Naturally I went for the top spec (as even that was pretty cheap) but it had virtually everything you could want on it for the day. This reminds me of that if i'm honest. I'd never buy one, as i'd sell it out of boredom within a matter of weeks, but I guess for people with zero interest in driving, it makes sense.
I ordered my Tucson 1.6 Hybrid N-Line S (panoramic Roof) in mid-September and was told today it is expected first week of January - I can't wait. I was really impressed with the ride and performance on the test drive and managed 45 mpg. Sport mode was noticeably impressive - it flew. But I agree, you are more likely to cruise around in Eco mode on most journeys. Good points: very quiet and little road noise. Superb quality feel inside. Unique external looks which set it apart from most other SUVs except perhaps the RAV4 which I really didn't like in the flesh. With very low 3% apr PCP and huge 13% discount, buying a new Tucson makes great financial sense. Some dealers are charging 9% to 12% which makes an enormous difference to the monthly payments. With the maximum deposit of £14,000 from my 2013 Volvo XC60, the Tucson is only costing me £113 per month. shop around.
Hi Pete I’ve come back to this vid as I’ve had a Hyundai Tucson as a hire car for last 2 weeks. It must be me but technology gets in the way of driving these days, So need to do a tip run , load up rear with some long pieces of timber just too long to fit in without some major seat moving , so no problem leave it sticking out rear by 100mm. Tie down tailgate. Go to move off car won’t release electronic parking brake unless all doors shut and seat belts done up. Grrrrrrr , lol. The parking brake drives me crazy can never just jump in and drive off . The stop start kicks in just as I’m crawling to a junction go to pull away won’t go unless clutch fully depressed , and the regen braking to recharge auxiliary battery slows the car too much. Thank goodness my old merc ml350 will be back soon. 👍👍👍
Great review..i picked up my plug in hybrid 270 ultimate spec 7 weeks ago and absolutely love it. I don't do very many long distance driving which on a run purely petrol it averages around 50 mpg...around my normal driving which i do loads it's always in 3 figures
Looks like an excellent all round car as a ‘daily driver’….. you’re right when you say that brand snobs won’t get past the badge but in terms of value for money it looks like a great choice. Hyundai are really now comparable in quality with the other ‘mainstream’ European manufacturers just as Skoda have done over the last 20-30yrs 👍
The days of the Pony, Stellar and Accent ( shudders) are long behind them. With cars like this and the I30,20 and now Kona N models poaching prospective buyers from the more expensive marques for sheer fun or value without a huge loss in quality and in some cases bags more character I think they are going in the right direction. Kona N for the next ambassador car please Pete 😄
I have this hybrid Limited here in the US. Unfortunately, the "shudder" is still a feature of the 1.6T engine when the engine is under a load (uphill usually) and operating between 2500-3000 rpm. Started doing that suddenly at about 1,000 mi and been to the dealer multiple times with no resolution. Runs fine in EV mode.
Whe recieved our new tucson hybrid 4x4 past friday🎉 love it inside out. Can not post pictures here but at night it is even more beautiful. Whe love this car. Driving a skoda otavia combi 16 years and 4 month 1.8 tsi with great plessure. But whe choose this tucson this time. Hope it will last as long.
Brilliant videos mate, loving the car cleaning videos and reviews of the Tucson. It has helped me decide massively. I've just ordered the Tucson N-Line S in 230 full hybrid auto guise, in the special solid Shadow Grey. It looks stunning! Cannot wait!!
I like the general exterior design also, especially as you say the way the headlights blend into the grille. The rear light clusters have a touch of Mustang Mach E about them. But I think having to turn off lane departure assist every time you get in the car would be a deal breaker for me. I can see the point if you do a lot of long journeys on motorways but not for any other time. By the way, and this is in no way a criticism of you as I know you have no choice in the matter but the amount UA-cam ads is getting really bad. I think I counted about 4 or 5 lots just in the first half of the video. Yes you can generally skip but that's just as annoying. They need to reign it in or it's going to cost UA-camr's views.
As usual, a very good, informative review. It's an interesting car and the more I see them on the road, the more I like the look. May be something to look at next time I change vehicles. Good job Ped
Hello I have got the Tucson N Line Hybrid very good for a large car.I'm retired so do a lot of driving around, I live near Chichester so I recognized your trip around Goodwood, The Car is very good value for money Grandkids love it.
I think you present very well and super honest with your comments good or bad. I did notice the expression on your face when you pulled out in front of an oncoming vehicle (a bit close ).
I have had a spread of German cars for the last 25 years, and enjoyed all of them. When looking at replacing my C Class, I wanted a SUV,with a bit of spec, and the German offers were working out very expensive. I test drove quite a few alternatives, and the N Line S stood out on performance price and included extras. The dealership I used were brilliant as well. I have totally loved it since I got it, and would have no hesitation in recommending the Hyundai to anyone looking for this type of vehicle.
I have the n-line one and I had the older n-line as well and this at 230 hp is brilliant it's a proper family car and there not much you need that this car hasn't got and the lights are fab and the heated wheel is great 👌
Thx and enjoyed the review, we have a phev ultimate due for delivery next week via Hyundai Mocean subscription. Worth checking out Mocean as a subscription option with good prices especially now lease prices have shot up over the last 2 years.
I can agree with you about the annoying "lane departure systems" which manufacturers are fitting. In March of this year I bought a new Skoda Kamiiq. Nice car but the lane departure had to be switched off EVERY TIME. Sometimes it would re-set itself. After a month, I handed the car back and bought-back my 2 year old Fabia. Heaven: knobs and switches to adjust everything. No need for a touchscreen!!!! and I can decide if I want to cross a white line!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I think the Koreans have taken the lead in Hybrid/EV cars in the affordable segment at the moment. Would love a Taycan to go with my 981 Boxster S but for everyday driving I'll stick with my 2018 3008 2ltr diesel for the moment.
That’s ignoring the 2022 Corolla hybrid that starts at $23,650 USD as far as taking leads in affordable hybrids. And I trust Toyota hybrids more than Korean ones For the simple fact that Toyotas been doing it since the early 90s
You can disable the lane keep assist. I have done so myself it's in the main menu accessible through the steering's buttons. As for the EV/HEV mode, it's only available on the PHEV
Great, honest review of the Hyundai. My wife and I will be looking at one of these tomorrow as a replacement for her XC40. Out of interest is this the 230hp version?
I had a bit of a double take on the side view thinking it was a shrunken RAV4. Not a car for me but an enjoyable watch and interesting comparison to a plug in hybrid.
Excellent car with all the PP cockpit dislikes resolved in the latest version. Brilliant physical controls for heating and radio and lovely panoramic display. He is right about the N-line - it looks a lot better and is the best of the bunch. Go for S trim for the works. The engine is a bit whinny going up steep hills, but change from echo to sport and you can select a more appropriate gear using the paddle shifters. In eco mode, they act as regeneration controls and not gear changing. I am easy on the pedal and get around 40mph probably because it is winter. If I turn the heating off, I can drive local on electric most of the time and get 170mpg for short trips. Thats because the heating relies on the petrol engine which must run until the desired temperature is reached. Ride is very good and you can get a full set of golf clubs and tour bag sideways in the boot, leaving loads of room for anything else. With the '25 version, it is a no-brainer as they took PP's comments unboard and tidied up the cockpit.
My Mrs has a Hyundai Kona Hybrid and I really like the fact that it turns into an EV through the town and the petrol motor cuts in as you drive out to the open road. We get about 60-65 mpg with general driving. I'm not that keen on the gearbox either - it seems to have a mind of it's own and I agree, the fact you cannot turn off 'lane assist' drives me bonkers.
Long pressing the lane keep button on the steering wheel turns it off completely. Not sure if it’s on again upon vehicle shut off and firing it back on though.
Totally agree with you regarding the the gear selection, there is nothing more rewarding than manually shifting the gear selector. Your reviews and constructive comments are in the real real world of snowflakeism. Please keep up the the good work as I brought a Honda Civic sport plus on your review as it was totally on the money and bang on. All the the very best for the future as I see you as the next presenter for top gear or fifth gear .kind regards mike
Hi PetrolPed, really good review 👍 spot on. I purchased the Tuscon hybrid and I'm really pleased with it..it's a great addition to my other cars..what i did do to the car was foil the wing mirrors and the roof in black as it wasn't possible to order from the factory, i must say it was a massive improvement. Thanks again 🙏 Shayne
A really good sensible review, quite informative & not too geeky/techie . I've placed my order for next week !. Thanks to you Mr Petrolped from Dublin Ireland!
@@PetrolPed Superb, Loving driving in EV mode and the acceleration, how quiet it is, solid vehicle compared to my old 2017 Nissan Qashqai Tekna (1.2 Auto) and the power difference from 116ps to 265ps wow. It's like driving the Starship Enterprise compared to my old Qashqai, so much tech. Had to drive down to Peterborough from Edinburgh to pick it up and P/X my old Qashqai, Used the HighWay Drive Assist and let the car do all the work on the A1 road going home, superb. Enough chat off for a drive and then a charge etc etc :-)
I think these are great looking cars and you have to applaud Hyundai for their courage. I'm an admirer of the RAV 4, a nice car to travel in ( shame about that CVT gearbox) but I think this new Tucson offers a good alternative.
Got a carlinkit 2.0 off Aliexpress and works a dream to make carplay wireless. It can be stuck in the gap just above the usb ports too just to the side of the ambient light lamp. There’s also a setting to make carplay full screen btw (whether using cable or the carlinkit)
Great review. Good job explaining what it's like to live with a self charging hybrid. Like the way you incorporate your pooches into your videos. Here is a quick quiz, which you will be too young to know the answer . Who was one of the first American car test writers who used his dog to demonstrate trunk (boot for you guys) space?
@@PetrolPed Goggle "Tom McCahill". 1st American road test writer, the 1st guy to do 0-60 times. Introduced a generation of Americans to the love of automobiles.
Hi, great review about the car! What about the noise coming from outside at high speeds (on the highway)? On other channels there were people complaining about this noise.
Smart looking motor Peter, inside and out. Has similarities with Lexus UX and NX from 'A Pillar' back and bizarrely a bit of Ford Mustang Mach E from the rear which are no bad things at all. That is where the comparison to the pioneers of 'Self Charge' powertrains in Lexus ends, especially inside which is no bad thing as they have dated interior materials, switching and remains analogue centric. Interior looks well laid-out with good quality materials and spec wise is up there with any brand but at a far more compelling price point than other similar options such as the Lexus. Badge remains a challenge but I see a diluting of this as looks, build quality and tech all improve towards and in several cases, drives beyond European competition. Shipped with strong warranty and it is instantly a rather compelling proposition.
Very good review for new buyers 👍. Unfortunately, the most interesting thing happens with our care after 50K miles. Personally I would like to see if somebody will review cars of the same class from different company when they are not exactly new.
I don't agree that 42-43mpg is good fuel economy for that hybrid. I have a 2018 VW Tiguan 2.0l diesel which does 45mpg easily and well over 55 mpg on the motorway.. I guess it depends on where you plan on doing your miles, but for me, I do 45000 miles a year (95% on a motorway) I cannot beat having a diesel.
Great review, as always, really enjoying the channel! This video particularly of interest as I have just ordered this car! (Ultimate hybrid in white).. quite a departure for me after a series of minis, mini clubman and bmw 1 series… but wanted to go hybrid and needed more space.. excited to take delivery even though I’m expecting to wait for at least 6 months!.. 😊👍
It's on par for comfort and convenience. Driving experience and cabin noise reduction isn't there yet. Driving one of these feels very disconnected to the steering. Not ideal for twisty county roads. Good for city and motorway driving though.
Great review, I was wondering when you were going to upload your review. Thats going on my list along with the rav 4 for the replacement of my Alhambra when my next motability lease comes to an end. Keep up the good work. Love watching your content 😀

I’ll show you my schedule since I’ve had the car and then you might get it 😜😂
@@PetrolPed I'm sure that was your mate in the Ferrari? And do you also know a Spitfire pilot? Ha
I believe that the lights integrated with the grill are simply DRL,s and the actual main lights are actually in the lower section 🤔
you are correct
@@aono335 thank you Aono. Reviewers should get their facts right though 😄
You are correct.
Taking delivery of mine in five weeks. Glad you liked it!
I sure do 👍
Hi is yours being built as I have been told mine hopefully will be November built in chez republic factory ??
Such a brilliant review . You handled this so professionally . Love to se more reviews from you ..
Thanks. You know where I am now 👍
Picked up my Tucson Ultimate self charging hybrid last night, making it the 10th Hyundai my wife and myself have owned since 1995, 2 Accents, an Elantra, a Galloper, an older Tucson, an iX35 and 3 Santa Fe’s, and I’ve never had any serious issues with any of them.
Be advised that the N-line seats are Not as comfortable as the other leather seats.
I’m shocked you like it so much Ped as I know your used to high end vehicles, good honest review sir..
It’s a great car 👌
Korean car build is a combination of the good of Japanese and Continental. Owning one for a decade, that is what I have observed. The same can't be said for the Japanese which has been stagnant most of the time with very gradual improvement.
Between Qashqai and Tucson, I love the Qashqai exterior looks but the Tucson overall is a better design, better quality and well packaged altogether.
The car may be Korean designed but the current Tucson is built in Europe, the Czech Republic if I remember correctly, Hyundai have definitely come a long way from the days when they were building old Mitsubishi designs.
I really like the aggressive fenders! Definitely a better looker then the previous generation. Great review Sir Pete
Quite a good looking car from any angle! I see one every day and it looks great! Hybrid looks a better bet than the total EV for a good while yet!
In reality it looks way better. Black is the color to go for. I got mine in January and I wasn’t expecting to draw that much attention with a Hyundai tbh
Great review. As a daily car in really struggling to find a reason not to get this. My only hesitation is that I don't know whether to go self charging or phev.
Defo get the phev. As a Phev and ev owner its a much better representation of an EV and is great for short trips on 100% EV mode
You won't get your money back from the extra cost of the phev unless you keep it a long time.
Nice 👍
My wife drives the first generation Hyundai i10. Its now 9 years old has been utterly reliable since buying new and returns 45 mpg( more on long.)Yes its got scratchy plastics and not much equipment but on the plus side no annoying tech, I hate lane departure warning as well.
Most reviewers are to obsessed with scratchy plastics, its not like you sit on them!
a great car big for the winter for the roads
The wife has a small Kia and it’s great.
I run the Mitsubishi PHEV outlander.
The 1.6 engine is too small on the Kia,, my last PHEV was 2litre, , it needed a bigger engine. My next one has the 2.5 litre engine, this works great with little difference to mp95
Save 13k and buy the Mitsubishi, it’s got 95% of the gizmos as well, but not the sun roof!
The CX5 is the better handling car.
300 miles. I'm planning to take it back and buy a Toyota or even an amg
Glad you didn't buy it. I bought 2021 Tucson ultimate loaded, so far I got 9k miles and the car struggles to shift gears smoothly. I noticed the problem when the car was only
@@kenworthvspeterbilt5238
Sorry to hear that.
Looks like you’ve been Videobombed at 8:37 mins in. Another fabulous video Pedro. Really admire your frank opinions in your reviews.👍
What you thought were the auxiliary lights are the headlights, low & high beams.
The lights in the grill are the daytime running lights
yep
Wow 😮
A good family car and an honest review Pete looking forward to what you get next.👍
Those "auxiliary lights" are the headlights. The lights that you were referring to as the headlights are in fact just the daytime running lights.
Pete might have known that if he drove it at night!
Good to see you again
And you 😜👍
The days of the Pony, Stellar and Accent ( shudders) are long behind them.
Oh wow that sounds lovely. Brilliant cars. You are gonna love it 👍
I like the general exterior design also, especially as you say the way the headlights blend into the grille.
Great review Pete. I’ve never really understood the meaning of a ‘self charging hybrid’ so I’m glad that you explained it.
Cheers Sean 👍
As usual, a very good, informative review. It's an interesting car and the more I see them on the road, the more I like the look. May be something to look at next time I change vehicles. Good job Ped
Thanks Andy 👍
Hello I have got the Tucson N Line Hybrid very good for a large car.I'm retired
so do a lot of driving around, I live near Chichester so I recognized your trip around
Goodwood, The Car is very good value for money Grandkids love it.
I think you present very well and super honest with your comments good or bad. I did notice the expression on your face when you pulled out in front of an oncoming vehicle (a bit close ).
Never ever tire of a Merlin lol. 🙏👍The sound of winning.
Absolutely
Oh yes 🙌
I think that same Spitfire shares it time between Goodwood and where I am... love seeing and hearing it.
Well said!
Not heard if that. I’ll take a look 👍
😂😂😂
You cannot do that in Europe. Regulations.
Good insight thanks. Looking at the self-charging hybrid as a replacement for my Tiguan in the new year.
Hendy poole new Hyundai salesman. Great selling job there ped. 😁
Those are the daytime running lights in the grill not the headlights. The headlights are below on the sides
Great review Pete. Picking up the PHEV Ultimate and tech pack mid October so good to see your review (even though self charging)
I’ve been waiting since November last year for my car to be delivered, from Henley’s Wallis down road
Great review. I'm deciding between the hybrid and the PHEV. With the rebate they are the same price (Canada).
👍
Long pressing the lane keep button on the steering wheel turns it off completely. Not sure if it’s on again upon vehicle shut off and firing it back on though.
For me the front lights are disturbing at best
Thanks again 🙏
Shayne
The auxiliary lights ARE the headlights. The ones you like are the daytime running lights.
I love the Tuscon, just about to give a rental back and we went up and down the UK, almost 2000miles, as said a great car to make miles!
Hello buddy. A nice looking motor. You have come a long way pal these last 3 yrs. Brilliant. 👍👍
Cheers mate 👍
A really good sensible review, quite informative & not too geeky/techie . I've placed my order for next week !. Thanks to you Mr Petrolped from Dublin Ireland!
Glad it was helpful!
So you should get the Tuscon 2025 facelift model which is even better 😊
Excellent review ped mate
Thanks 👍
Those rear lights are straight of the Mach-E. Looks like a smart SUV though
Great review, cant decide in plug in hybrid Tucson or the Santa fa plug
Doing my head in ha
Great Review, Picking up my new Hyundai Tucson Ultimate Plug-In Hybrid (with Tech Pack in Shimmering Silver) tomorrow (1st September) cannot wait.
I've got to wait to mid Oct for mine (same spec but in polar white) but would love to know how you are getting on.
Very nice. How is it ?
1 month ago bought a plug in version of tucson , absolutly great car
Got a carlinkit 2.0 off Aliexpress and works a dream to make carplay wireless. It can be stuck in the gap just above the usb ports too just to the side of the ambient light lamp. There’s also a setting to make carplay full screen btw (whether using cable or the carlinkit)
drive-in sport mode will get the battery close to full.
You’ve got me there. No idea 🤷♂️
I’m looking for an suv next year. I’ve got it down to one of these or a Sportage so far. Time will tell.
Shipped with strong warranty and it is instantly a rather compelling proposition.
lol do you also review cars? That was one hell of a breakdown.
@@glennharvey1472 No i don't but I think I get a bit carried away sometimes....
Very good review for new buyers 👍. Unfortunately, the most interesting thing happens with our care after 50K miles. Personally I would like to see if somebody will review cars of the same class from different company when they are not exactly new.
Lane departure warning should need to be turned on, like my old 19 plate focus.
It was off by default unless you decided to turn it on 🤞
I agree 👍
I don't agree that 42-43mpg is good fuel economy for that hybrid. I have a 2018 VW Tiguan 2.0l diesel which does 45mpg easily and well over 55 mpg on the motorway.. I guess it depends on where you plan on doing your miles, but for me, I do 45000 miles a year (95% on a motorway) I cannot beat having a diesel.
Nice honest review, looks great inside and outside. Great video 👍
Thanks 👍
Great review, as always, really enjoying the channel! This video particularly of interest as I have just ordered this car! (Ultimate hybrid in white).. quite a departure for me after a series of minis, mini clubman and bmw 1 series… but wanted to go hybrid and needed more space.. excited to take delivery even though I’m expecting to wait for at least 6 months!.. 😊👍
Hopefully Hyundai will give tho option of having the old stick shift system when ordering.
Great video nice car as well ,well done ped
It's on par for comfort and convenience. Driving experience and cabin noise reduction isn't there yet. Driving one of these feels very disconnected to the steering. Not ideal for twisty county roads. Good for city and motorway driving though.
Great review, I was wondering when you were going to upload your review. Thats going on my list along with the rav 4 for the replacement of my Alhambra when my next motability lease comes to an end. Keep up the good work. Love watching your content 😀
👍
Great looking car, the rear view is without doubt the best and at a glance on the road has a bit of ‘Bentley’ about it 👍
V decent review and we have subscribed. Can you do the Santa Fe por favor?
