Aaahhh I came here hoping you'd talk about David Tennant. Not only here but his fashion sense has been intriguing lately. It's like ever since he hit 50,something clicked. It's like, as a theatre actor, he's waited to be old for so long and he's being loud with his outfits for it.
so i looked up what you all are talking about and his looks are quite...meh? like embroidery on the jacket is boring, golden collar suit looks tacky and the green suit doesn't fit. the bar for menswear is so low😭
We need a Part 2 covering Tennant, Naomi, Daisy Edgar-Jones, Andrew Scott, Paul Mescal, Robert Downey Jr, Sheila Atim and Charithra Chandra to name a few...
Yes it is a version of the navy pea coat, we wore these thigh length jackets in the 70’s and 80’s I used to wear my brothers he bought it at an army surplus store
Botega must have been on drugs with that orange dress. It looks like a 7th grade sewing project. Im just speechless. You're going to a major event and you have 10 dresses hanging up, and you choose THAT?! Ida fired that stylist.
"Wowee Zowee" was not the goal for Carey Mulligan's dress. Apparently she was going for quiet, timeless elegance and she achieved that beautifully. It's not "Hey look at Me" fashion.
You see the Louis Vuitton gorgeous collection and then you see what Emma Stone "chose" to wear, how? why? who? I mean, those green and pink dresses from the runway, are stunning and Emma looks like a peach cobbler in that thing. I don't understand. Also, I loved Emma Corrin's Miu Miu look - super young, chic and cool.
My favourite outfit was June Givanni’s, she was this year’s honouree for Outstanding British Contribution to Cinema, as the founder of the June Givanni Pan African Cinema Archive. She wore a gold and white number and looked really stunning
I thought zip pocket/pockets? The shoes were very him but I think there are some incredible boots and shoes for men around and the stylist/Burberry missed it
I always have a lot of respect for Emma Corrins vision (which sometimes translates more successfully than others..). Without fail theres something fun about their choices, a childlike weirdness in the best way. I think in such a gendered fashion context such as award shows/red carpets, its a nice relief to know that when i look at their outfits they have so much to say (or scream sometimes haha). Its as if, but maybe im projecting, theyre poking fun at the event theyre attending and the over the top rediculousness of some of these award shows (that most likely dont have a category that accounts for their gender identity). Stick a huge bow on a seethrough skirt. "See, this is me doing the femme fashion thing right, no?" Whether i like the outfit or not is kinda beside the point, its fun and shows a whole lot more personality than most celebs are comfortable doing.
The men are winning this one! Cillian, Rami, Ryan!! Loving their outfits. And usually the guys leave me less than impressed. Taylor Russell, Fantasia, and Emily Blunt were standouts in gowns for me ❤
Was looking for a pic where Margot Robbie had the "Barbie" silhouette that is suggested in her gown, but I had to squint my eyes in all the ones published to see what she was going for.🙂
Puffed sleeves in my opinion look beautiful if not overdone and they have two good uses: 1. They give space to the shoulders and as someone with broad shoulders and loving freedom of movement that is really useful 2. They provided extra warmth on the shoulders since it stores the warm air, which back then was even more important since you can’t put much fabric on this area without loosing the nicely tailored effect. I love warm shoulders too
The irony- Cillian Murphy looking tailored, interesting and flawless but we don't know the designer- and Bradley Cooper out here looking like a doorman who needs to get the next paycheck so he can get his trousers tailored
Sorry but Florence’s bust in that dress may in fact be worse than Emma’s entire dress. She looks wide backed, broad shouldered and flat chested…. Unless that was the goal.
I usually much prefer classic "beautiful" dresses rather than way out there weird shit 😂 but surprisingly liked Florence Pugh's dress on HER. On anyone else it would have looked fugly but i felt like she looked good...the dress itself was unusual but also paired down, if you know what i mean! It could also be because am just tired of seeing her in these voluminous tulle layers all the time, which imo just add visual weight and overwhelm her petite, curvaceous frame.
Her body is well accented here. This style harkens back to the Medieval style of dress that flattened the bust and created an interesting torso. Also a touch of being captured by the dress, the ancient style of submission.
HEAR ME OUT I do love you videos/opinions but I have to say, Emma Stone made me so excited. I read poor things and went through the experience of the main narrator for most of the book, only to arrive at the end and realize it was an entire fantastical trip into one man’s delusional desire. In the end you get the real events from the woman in question’s perspective and I am absolutely mind-blown. The book is absolute deconstruction, and knowing this, seeing one large puffy sleeve and the buttons on the side instead of the back, I mean, it created an EXPERIENCE for me. Just go ahead and mess with my mind Emma, exactly the way the book did. (Btw still haven’t seen the movie tho😅) So y’all can hate on it, I get it, but it’s so synonymous with the entire feel of reading Poor Things in my mind that this is like Zendaya’s robot suit for Dune and Margot Robbie’s literal barbie doll looks 🤩
Thanks for saving the world's eyes of the hideous underwear/lace atrocity Sophie Ellis-Bextor wore on the carpet 🤣 But shame the fab cape of Andreea Cristea didn't make it...it featured bugs and all the black sequins you can put on one 😉
Lily Collins - Tara Ralph: the flower design itself Is the coordination between the 3D sleeve-bands and the 3D hardware. Works. Note: I even think hardware on the sleeve flowers would have pulled the eye away from the center focal point and diminished the overall impact.
Deepika's dress is bad by all Indian standards lol. I don't understand how she pulled up in this as an Indian who lived in India, grew up in India, probably went to weddings and functions and worked in Bollywood. I can tell you as an NRI Indian who hasn't ever worn saree that this dress will be considered bleh even in a large housewarming get-together, let alone BAFTAs. Remove the sequins and it would literally look like a years old, home saree.
Do celebrities get to plan their outfits accordingly to the background? Cause I feel Carrie Mullingan's dress was really pretty but it felt boring because it blended with the backgroung and really dulled it out. Maybe against a contrasting backdrop, things would have been different?
The body jewelry Cate Blanchett is wearing. Is that a chain? Because it looks like it could be Black Tahitian Pearl in that photo. If it is, it's more valuable than that entire dress, and tge next two dresses behind her, and it should be the focus. It can take years to get that many Tahitian pearls that are uniform in shape and color if it is real pearl. Impressed am I.
Honestly, I felt like it was giving grandma's dress from the attic with one sleeve ripped off. And the dresses from the LV collection that was referenced were sooo much nicer, with the ruffles and the sheer, and the matelasse at the bottom, but those had an airy, layered feeling, and this was just heavy and, sorry, kinda dowdy.
Cate’s dress made from deadstock fabric was my fave and it was beautiful! Dua should’ve worn the green runway dress. That red fabrication was tragic. Emma Corin in a leather pant-a-boot or thigh high boot in the same blue as the bows on the skirt….. dead
The fact that David Tennant hosted this thing, had 3 oitfits and you still did not talk about him is THE Disrespect moment with a capital D
Yeah, he was just looking at the red carpet pics, and didn't watch the ceremony.
David Tennant has the most amazing fits!!!!
No seriously I ran over here to learn who did David and the pre show guy’s suits because they were great.
I hope he does Les Cesar in France ( French Oscars) 23 Feb American stars turn up especially if they r not going to the Oscars .
@@mercuryshadow5452 same!
Awww I was hoping you were gonna talk about host David Tennant’s 3 outfits cause they were gorgeous and fun, especially for a guy to wear.
Absolutely, that

Taylor Russell - Loewe 39:20
But Cate’s dress from the back was zoweeee…why no views of that?
Cillian is in Zegna
Ayo, love, but this dress did not seem tailored to her
This is the first time I realize that he reviews them alphabetically
Thank you!!
Aaahhh I came here hoping you'd talk about David Tennant. Not only here but his fashion sense has been intriguing lately. It's like ever since he hit 50,something clicked. It's like, as a theatre actor, he's waited to be old for so long and he's being loud with his outfits for it.
Yes! Yes! Yes!
"waited to be old" made me cackle
so i looked up what you all are talking about and his looks are quite...meh? like embroidery on the jacket is boring, golden collar suit looks tacky and the green suit doesn't fit. the bar for menswear is so low😭

Agree
I'm not normally interested in menswear, but Paul Mescal looked great.
Agree! And also, Anya Taylor-Joy
AGREED @hautelemode
Ayo is giving me “pulled from the drama department closet for an evening-wear scene” realness
Ayo's ensemble was not good. The upper portion was a wreck! The long stole was meh.
YES! 😂
You could put Cillian Murphy in a paper bag and I'd for sure buy it.
Absolutely😂❤
Cillian was wearing a ZENDA mohair suit. Easy Google. And I'm sorry, I can stand it no more...it's ju-well-ry! NOT ju-ler-y.
Yah that’s how I feel too. He’s just all kinds of cool
I think British GQ said Murphy is wearing a custom Zegna suit and Vienna Blake boots.
Bradley Cooper is channeling his 19th century ship captain vibe.
Yes it is a version of the navy pea coat, we wore these thigh length jackets in the 70’s and 80’s I used to wear my brothers he bought it at an army surplus store
Bradley is a nod to the British Crombie Overcoat established 1805!
🤔 Captain Steampunk.
Ahoy there me matey!
Whoever is Divine’s stylist is absolutely crushing it. Truly, her outfits at each event are breathtaking ❤
Agreed!
Da'Vine*
agreed - it's refreshing to see a plus size person dressed fabulously rather than just like meh ok
always so impressed with how quickly you get your red carpet videos out. thank you luke!
Botega must have been on drugs with that orange dress. It looks like a 7th grade sewing project. Im just speechless. You're going to a major event and you have 10 dresses hanging up, and you choose THAT?! Ida fired that stylist.
i at first saw it in a casual shot of her standing in a hallway and it looked so bad i thought it was a costume from an SNL skit when she hosted lol
@@ancientalien000
And to know it's Botega which means it costs a small fortune. It's a travesty.
"Wowee Zowee" was not the goal for Carey Mulligan's dress. Apparently she was going for quiet, timeless elegance and she achieved that beautifully. It's not "Hey look at Me" fashion.
Cate's LV dress from the back (less) was even more stunning.
Yeah was disappointed not to see that view
"...I'm gonna do it. I don't know what I'm gonna do but I'm gonna do *IT*" 😂 Love ya, man. Adore the commentary.
I love it! 😂
Again, YES! YES! YES!

Agreed on the LV looks that were on the runway. I would have preferred to see her in one of those.
My favourite outfit was June Givanni’s, she was this year’s honouree for Outstanding British Contribution to Cinema, as the founder of the June Givanni Pan African Cinema Archive.
She wore a gold and white number and looked really stunning
I do enjoy Barry Keoghan’s outfit, but I think it might have been better if they continued the hardware element into the pants design in some way.
I was wondering aloud whether Burberry might be redesigning Britain's military uniforms? Barry's outfit looked like it to me.
I thought zip pocket/pockets? The shoes were very him but I think there are some incredible boots and shoes for men around and the stylist/Burberry missed it
awww I was hoping David Tennant would get his little moment on your channel haha x

probably the most boring red carpet of the year already
tbh i think the people’s choice awards has that title hehehehehe
@@hautelemodeLMFAO I was just about to comment this.
@@hautelemodeyeah sunday was a tough day for fashion lol
@hautelemode The BAFTA Awards are the step sister to the Oscars, I was expecting glamours gowns, more jewellery like dimonds, pearls, Jade, rubies.
Justice for David Tennant😭
Everytime you watch HauteLeMode take a shot everytime Luke says "ancora rosso"
Add on "Pierpaolo" and we'll be so drunk we'll be saying yes to every dress:)
Love it 😂😂
From the comments… yes. David Tennant needs a mention
The men are winning this one! Cillian, Rami, Ryan!! Loving their outfits. And usually the guys leave me less than impressed. Taylor Russell, Fantasia, and Emily Blunt were standouts in gowns for me ❤
"It's growing on me... like MOULD..." so witty and funny!
I love that the men on red carpet are finally trying. 😌👌
Bradley Cooper looks like the captain of the Titanic. I hate, hate those flare pants!!
No, he looked like he just came off his shift from an expensive hotel 😊
😅😅
It’s very sailorish though 😂😂😂

Bradley Cooper is wearing Louis Vuitton by Pharrell and Cillian Murphy is wearing Zegna. Also Zegna is an Italian brand* not Spanish.

that atrocious peach LV monstrosity suddenly made me really appreciate that MiuMiu thing before

I’m just waiting for the zenday dune pt 2 recap to cleanse the pallet
I think Da'vine's curves and size *made* the dress interesting--the dress doesn't need to do as much work
The Tamara Ralph sleeves give me a Carmen Miranda feel
Lily Collins - Tara Ralph: the flower design itself Is the coordination between the 3D sleeve-bands and the 3D hardware. Works. Note: I even think hardware on the sleeve flowers would have pulled the eye away from the center focal point and diminished the overall impact.

“YES. IT’S UGLY. I AGREE.”
According to a couple places on google, the Bradley Cooper look was custom Louis Vuitton. Just sharing for the folks who are as curious as me haha
Cillian Murphy is Zegna, I believe?
We appreciate your insights, Luke. You're detailed with everything you say.
Bradley's jacket is giving "Sailor/captain" vibes which pings!... trousers too stupidly wide. Almost a win.
Cillian Murphy was dressed by Zegna including his Chelsea Boots
I’m here for Cillian Murphy and him only
Luke that your go-to english accent is something that royal cousin would have has me rolling

Emma Stone last time I saw that much orange was the Twelfth of July in Belfast 😂😂
BAFTA - British Academy of Film and Television Arts
This green cardigan 😍 LOVE! Great video btw

Also liked Robert Donnie Jr. outfit!
Are you Luc or Luke? Spelling of last name? Cant find this anywhere, and I have looked. Just recently discovered you and love you and your work!
where’s dom sessa full on 70s swag and fantasy? he got a full custom ysl on his first project is iconic
As someone who loves fashion you should definitely watch Poor Things.
The person in the black suit and brooch - I think it’s a cherry blossom tree perhaps given the shape and placement of the colours.
cillian was wearing custom zegna
I always see you comment about navy blue and black together. It's a very sophisticated thing and you're going to either like it or you're not.
The Oscar de la Renta dress was stunning

Florence Pugh ❤❤❤❤ 😘
I really liked Lily Collins' dress; Emma Stone could have worn it
Divine Joy rocks the beautiful high style!!
I feel like I've seen the dress that Lily Collins wore somewhere, but I can't remember where, and it's driving me crazy trying to figure it out
Following cause same
I saw that white suit with the red piping at my prom in 1978. It was ugly then too.
Emma Corrin ATE that I cannot lie
cillian best dressed so hot
Some of those dresses really are ugly but Fantasia looks amazing. That dress was stunning on her
Keoghan... is actually correct.
It's not the actual pronunciation of the name... but apparently, it's how Barry's family always says it.
i loved the more unique looks in this one, funky and weird🤍🤍
I think the trend for evening gloves cheapens outfits
Emma Corin looks more Poor Things inspired than Emma Stone's imho
I liked Emma Stone's look...becauae it really paid homage to the movie while bringing in a futuristic but classic aura.
The Emma Stone dress is giving me tacky bridesmaid vibes
Honestly, I felt like it was giving grandma's dress from the attic with one sleeve ripped off. And the dresses from the LV collection that was referenced were sooo much nicer, with the ruffles and the sheer, and the matelasse at the bottom, but those had an airy, layered feeling, and this was just heavy and, sorry, kinda dowdy.
