    yayyy so excited to see this pop up in my feed!! arlington park was an absolute banger, one of my fave cusk novels now too. the bluest eye is gonna be my next morrison, i’ve seen so many people reading it recently!! i’ve been meaning to read the right to sex for months lmao but i haven’t gotten to it yet. the way you described the structure of the bee sting is so intriguing!!

    Definitely need to get to that Cusk sooner rather than later! Sounds great. Also immediately added The Bee Sting to my list. I was a little intimidated by its size when it was first released, but your description of it made it seem like a must read!

      The Bee Sting is so worth the investment. You’ll fall in love with the Barnes’.

    Welcome back! Love your videos and opinions Renee but I am beginning to find your comments a little hard to follow with all the lovely jazz playing in the back ground. Great to have you posting again though :) x PS re the ACOTAR dilemma just look up synopses online then you will know what happened but don't have to waste all the time reading!

      Yeah you’re like the 5th person who’s told me the musics annoying. Noted.

    I imagine Sarah J. Mass books are how some people like Real Housewives or other such trashy reality TV. It's not "good" but it's somehow deeply satisfying...as long as you don't dig too deep under the (very shallow) surface😂

      Arlington Park is a great place to start if you’re having a hard time deciding.

    "i hated this book it was terrible" -- yes bb give it to me straight!!!
    need to start being honest with myself with some of these books tbh
    also The Bluest Eye is so heartbreaking! i immediately want to reread it but know i must get to her other work.
    just finished All Fours by Miranda July. weird, whacky, oddly sexy. i think you would jive well with it

      I love to trash a book, trying to find redeeming qualities in a bad book is way too much effort. I feel like I might end up rereading The Bluest Eye before the year is out.
      Miranda July seems like a freak I’d be into.

    Is it me or is the background music loud and distracting? 😢

      Not loud but maybe distracting. 🤷🏽‍♀️

    • @aleksismil
      @aleksismil Місяць тому +3

      @@soireadthisbook It is probably a personal preference. I would much rather just listen to you without any background music. But then again that is just what I prefer. 😊

    • @soireadthisbook
      @soireadthisbook  Місяць тому +1

      @aleksismil I think people will get bored of listening to just me talking so the background music is a bit distracting. Argghhh.

    I've never read The Hobbit or Lord of the Rings (only saw the first 2 movies). Is The Hobbit's world accessible and/or easy to understand?

    • @soireadthisbook
      @soireadthisbook  Місяць тому

      100%! I haven’t read LOTR yet but The Hobbit is super accessible and an easy story to follow without too much confusing world building.

      @@soireadthisbook That's great because I want to get into fantasy (GOOD fantasy) more.
