  • EQ-PG is IK Multimedia's take on the API 560 Graphic EQ. The original is a 10-band Equalizer for the 500-series lunchbox format, which is designed to fit a lot of control into a small form factor. Each of these sliders allows you to cut or boost a particular frequency by up to 12dB. The more you boost or cut, the narrower that filter becomes. This makes for a really different feel when using the EQ. Small adjustments are easily heard, and with the controls being limited to just gain for each band, it is an extremely fast tone shaping tool.
IK Multimedia's Pick And Mix promotion gets you 10 products for price of 1, and is running for another week.

My secret weapon on all my mixes for a while now. It's seriously mindbogglingly good. Best API EQ in the box. Sorry Volko. :)

Would love to see you demo/review the rest of the T-Racks plugs you've gotten. Well done as always... much thanks!

I did the group buy last year: they are some of the best plugins I have (I got Waves, Soundtoys, Eventide....) and IK Multimedia are horribly underrated. All of them add so much warmth and character. My Mastering chain is all IK plugins (with the defaults adjusted so they don't alter the gain, many come with +2db on the output by default), plus a Waves tape machine. Just adding that chain makes the mix sound better. I can't recommend them enough!

i totally agree with you , sometimes "what you see" makes you scared to do something instead of "what you hear". Limits and boundaries make me for comfortable as you said. Good point. 10:45

Very useful info once again, as always. I'd like to know what you're using for brass in this tune. Sounds great.

Personally I stopped working with this kind of EQs and just using one good, flexible, modern and dynamic eq. I’m much faster this way, otherwise you get loose in finding the right eq or need two or more EQs. Saturation I get from my eq or a flexible saturator afterwards.

It’s awesome too bad it completely saturates and colors sound in a bad way, boosting highs and mids sound amazing though. Deff a big no for mastering sadly
