  • Here I'm using the Ik Multimedia T-Racks Master EQ 432 & other IK Multimedia plugins to mix The Rolling Stones bootleg gig recordings, so I thought why not show you the plug-in a bit in action. This is audio from the final gig of the 50th anniversary tour on the 13th July at Hyde Park. This video may be interesting for people to see the process which is FAR from conventional!
    The sound quality is pretty poor on these recordings, this is not another "Bedspring Symphony" quality bootleg taken from the board, but let's see how we get on!

    When I first got T-Racks 5 Max I was unsure what it is for. I knew its a mastering console. But the diferent EQs and compressors I didnt know what they are for. Biggest barrier is that I though it is for some very specific job, and now I started to throw these T-Racks all over my tracks and listen. This thing is unlimited. There is no right or wrong way of using it. Just throw a bunch of these on different tracks and start turning the knobs. Actually throw some on all tracks and see what happens.. There is no limit, and these sound so good.

    Sorry, just spat out my tea when you started talking about the audience trying to outdo each other. You, sir, need to do a podcast. Hilarious!

    Sorry this is a question probably for the reggae section but as you were talking about the lathe I'll crack on: How did the original JA engineers cut their dubs for Sounds without the usual low freq phase issues causing a problem? Was it the use of acetate as opposed to vinyl initially? This has puzzled me a while cheers.

      Good question. In London this guy cut many artists' acetates: ua-cam.com/video/0YsIwHoItA0/v-deo.html - It's my mums cousin lol. John & Felicity lived in the west indies and came back & ended up cutting plates for reggae artists. He eventually retired the business due to problems getting paid (sadly a common problem with the reggae scene). He offered to sell me the lathe around 1987, but it was mono so i (perhaps foolishly) turned it down. MONO! seen!...

    I don't use T-racks but as a request I'd like showing Waves CLA vocals because it's simple for those who don't know compression: how to get solid loud vocals with compression without a meter and then solid loud track. Could show this and how to make it truly pro sounding. Compression is often that most tubers lack with thin even down pressed vocals.

    • @rawstarmusic
      @rawstarmusic 4 роки тому

      @Jake Ostema Yes, recordings are compressed, vocally and the whole track. That's why.. Halsey's Graveyard sounds good, with natural singing, not so much. To much dynamics in one word so it sounds thin. One sentence becomes uneven and puny.

    IMPORTANT!!! The problem with buying single plugins is that they won't resize. You need to buy at least a bundle to have that feature. So i would recommend to buy at least Tracks 5. With screen resolution getting higher and higher resizing makes you future proof I'd say. There won't be a better time to buy than right now with the group buy. You get Tracks 5 and then you get 9 free plugins of same or lesser value. :-) Thanks for the video.

    • @dancetech
      @dancetech  4 роки тому

      they really wont re-size? are you sure? cos that would be weird.

    • @MustacheVerra
      @MustacheVerra 4 роки тому

      @@dancetech Yea that was my reaction as well. Seems they cripple their plugins to force you to at least buy a bundle. Which is weird. But the Tracks 5 bundle is worth it anyway considering the included plugins right? Anyway, i learned that the hard way but I'm going for a 4th round and will get Tracks 5 to fix this.

      hi. I've just seen this comment you wrote a year ago, and maybe you thought I am 'anti muslim' or 'racist' something? I'd ask you if possible to read this please, even though it is quite lengthy, because to be misinterpreted in that way is quite personal to me. Let me explain.
      Firstly, 1/2 my family, my kids and my grandkids are mixed race, so trust me, i'm not 'racist' ok.
      Secondly, I have nothing against muslim culture, I've got muslim family as i said & I have quite extensively read the writings of people like Jami, Atar, Rumi, Al-Ghazali Saadi, Ibn Arabi, Omar Khayyam, Hakim Sanai etc etc going back 30 years. i am therefore reasonably informed and read in the 'core' aspects of the faith & it's roots (beyond formal worship & church dogma) which is a deep subject.
      Additionally I trained in Islamic geometric artwork when I was younger, and I have in the past been commissioned and flown to one major Islamic city where I lived for just over a year creating islamic geometric wall panels for one of the richest men in the country. So i'm not 'anti-islam' or anything.
      Anyways, I said 'Saudis' in the video cos i was talking casually, but where I live in central London (Knightsbridge/Sloane sq area), there's been a massive problem for residents going on for years here, caused by young and VERY rich Saudis, Qataris, UEA etc lads.The residents around this area , who are about 50% muslim btw (and about 80-90% muslim if you go 1/2 mile north), have waged a war with these rich middle-east lads over recent years involving the courts & Police who have banned them from some local street locations, but they simply move to other street 'circuits'. They race around all through the summer nights in VERY loud AMG, Brabus, Lambos etc until 4am-5am, wrecking everyones lives.
      Again, at least 50% of residents here who fight them in the courts & via the Police are Muslims who like everyone else need to sleep and get to their work or their business in the morning, plus residents have kids who need to sleep. Being kept awake all night by the roaring & massively loud exhaust noise plus REALLY loud BANGS! & crackling backfires from these cars (which they are setup to do) is no fun! it's a complete nightmare actually, and it goes on year in year out. Some people i suppose would not mind quite so much if it was only friday or saturday night, but it's 7 nights a week ALL SUMMER until around the end of september/october!!
      Anyways, you just perhaps dont understand what residents here have to put up with (and of course i did not explain it in the video). These hyper-rich playboy lads are not liked by ANYONE living around here, regardless of race or religion, & it's NOT because they are muslims or because they come from those countries, BUT they DO pretty much all come from that small handful of gulf nations & that's just a fact.. Does it make sense now?
      Finally don't get me wrong, I am actually a BIG petrol head, a huge fan of Top-Fuel, moto GP etc & i understand you are into bikes from a quick look at your channel. i rode bikes for 30 years. i have owned some VERY loud motorbikes in the past trust me, but if you are a decent person then you try to keep things quiet if it's late at night or early in the morning, and if that means pushing your bike down the road away from where people live at 6am (cos you start work early), and THEN starting it, that's what I used to do.
      does that explain things ok? I feel i have to set the record straight on this & i'd appreciate a response please if you have the time. cheers.
