I had 2 pulleys explode on me today while my saw was running, i would just hear a high pitched squeak sound and notice the coil spring was unwound in and busted out and rubbing against the flywheel (making that god awful sound). Was my rope to short or is the flywheel possibly damaged? It wasn't having issues starting i guess the dawgs must be catching the flywheel for some reason.

I'm sorry to hear about the issues you've been experiencing with your chainsaw. The problem you described with the pulleys and the coil spring unwinding and breaking is indeed unusual. While I can't diagnose the issue definitively without inspecting the saw in person, I can offer some insights into possible causes and solutions:
Rope Length: The length of the starter rope typically shouldn't cause the issues you described. The rope length is usually designed to allow for several pulls to start the engine comfortably. If the rope is too short, it may be more challenging to start the engine, but it shouldn't lead to pulley or spring problems.
Pulley and Starter Mechanism: The high-pitched squeaking sound and the damage to the starter pulley and coil spring suggest a mechanical issue within the starter assembly. It's possible that there is excessive friction, wear, or misalignment in the starter mechanism, which caused the pulleys to fail. This could be due to worn bearings or other internal components.
Dawgs and Flywheel: The mention of the "dawgs" catching the flywheel could indicate an issue with the chain brake or clutch mechanism. If these components are not functioning correctly, they could interfere with the operation of the flywheel, leading to unusual sounds and stress on the starter assembly.
Flywheel Damage: It's also possible that the flywheel itself is damaged, and this damage could be causing issues with the starter assembly. Inspecting the flywheel for any signs of damage or wear is a good idea.
Given the complexity of chainsaw components and the potential safety hazards involved, I strongly recommend having your chainsaw inspected and repaired by a qualified technician or mechanic. They can disassemble and diagnose the starter assembly, examine the flywheel, and identify the root cause of the issues you've been experiencing. They will also be able to provide you with a comprehensive assessment and perform any necessary repairs or replacements to ensure the safe and proper functioning of your chainsaw.
Safety should always be a top priority when working with power equipment, and professional assistance is the best approach to address these kinds of mechanical problems.
I hope has at least shed some light on it
      Thanks
      Craig
