Hi Claire, you describe the scents so well I feel like I can get an understanding that is good enough to choose in a way that does not seem like a blind choice. I think Italian leather would be my favorite also. I would probably like the 3rd as well. Peppery rose with suede sounds lovely. I am prone to headaches so I’d probably pass on that one. Excellent review - you're such a joy to listen to. I fell in love with African leather. So unique and fun, but probably a difficult wear. Appreciate your comments on the Ocean one - was very curious about it.
It wasn't for me I guess, really didn't fit with the line that much. The ocean feels like an afterthought. The citrus was the biggest and longest lasting part. African leather is very distinctive and definitely the one that lured me in to begin with but yes, I agree, I couldn't see myself wearing it, as much as I like it. I felt bad putting Irish leather at 4th too, because I really love that too, just not on me! ❤️
I bought French leather after trying a sample. I am not a fan of leather on me (although I do like it on my husband) but I love pink pepper rose. Because of this combination and the leather being more a suede this is the only perfume with leather that I can wear. I would say it’s a very gentle introduction to leather for those who like floral perfumes, especially with rose. Also it’s a good fresh floral to enjoy on more cooler days. For me it’s a precursor to wearing full floral perfumes at the beginning of spring.
I have tried all of these since and I think French Leather is the most wearable of the set. I really enjoy it! I absolutely love suede in fragrances. It's a fine choice! Thanks for watching 🥰
I have been interested in trying memo fragrances for a while, African leather is what I have heard of from these ones. However its interesting that you mentioned an Abyssinian resturant because this house has a perfume called Lalibella based on the city of Lalibella in Ethiopia. I am from a neighbouring country so we have similar food to them, happy you liked it 😊

I will look to try that one ❤️ That restaurant has been voted the best place to eat in my county, people absolutely love it and the guy who runs it is so friendly and will explain every dish for you. The place only has about 10 tables and it is hard to get to eat there because it is so popular. It truly is amazing and so beautiful to try such tasty food! I think they nailed the Irish leather. Definitely makes me think of Ireland. Spicy spice!!! I had the same feeling about ocean leather compared to the others it feels like a "designer". Italian leather was my favorite aswell. Price vise I think most of them are original enough to ask the price they do. However I haven't bought anyone of them because I feel I wouldn't wear them enough

Haven’t smelled this line yet. The only ones I know from this brand are Sintra and Tamarindo wich are more fruity scents than leather… the bottles are a piece of art! ❤️
@@dr.claire.perfume tamarindo is spiced pinapple and Sintra is more boozy… like them both but after sampling them, Tamarindo is the one I would buy if I won the lottery! 🤣😂
A great overview. I've tried African and yea it was nice a very dry spicy one like you say. Not too bad. The oceans sounds yea... I'd not love it. The French definetly sounds the most like me. I do love a pinker fragrance. I'm a fussy soul with leather, I like a smooth clean one and it really can be quite lovely in fragrance
I think it's good to be a bit fussy, although I don't think your fussiness is restricted to leather 😂 I can't predict what type of rose you like so I can't predict with French leather! I sometimes think you like a fresh, natural rose and then I think maybe not, because I see you enjoying super sweet or dark rose too 🤔 maybe just not rose that feels fluorescent or too piercing? 🕵️♀️ Or maybe there aren't rules... I think all of these leathers are pretty smooth. African is probably the most muddled with other things. The leather does vary massively in strength though, Irish is definitely the strongest, then African, then Italian, then French, then Ocean. I honestly can't imagine ocean being for anyone 😂 but I should probably be more open minded.

But I suspect they'd just go for Sauvage. With rose? I have no idea 😂 like you say its very random. And a note I massively struggle with or really enjoy.. Before sampling Memo fragrances i didn't know i love leather notes, in my collection i have Lalibela, Marfa and French Leather, I love those for myself but i found extremely enjoyable African Leather,its not feminine enough for me but on someone else i would love it. I also have an unopened sample of Corfu that im going to test soon.
Lalibela and Marfa seem to be ones that get a lot of love, I need to check those out! I agree about African leather, it's something I would enjoy probably more on my husband than me, but I did enjoy it. ❤️
Phew, not just me then! I was sent these by Anita, so I was pleased to try them, but I don't think I could bring myself to spend that much one one of these. French Leather is another one I can probably tolerate. African Leather has cumin, Oud and Leather. That’s 3 challenging notes lol. Cumin is the worst for me.
The cumin is not that scary in African leather, more powdery than sweaty 😂 it's definitely spicy and warming. French leather is just pretty. It's the one I don't think anyone could hate...
loved hearing your thoughts on those Claire ! I have not sampled those from Memo... A friend gave me some Memo samples but none from that line... i think I have Marfa, Inle, Lalibela, and Winter Palace. i really like their scent profiles, really smooth... but pricey 😅
Yes it's made me want to try more! 😂 This is the problem with trying lovely things! You have some nice ones... I also have Flam from Anita, I will probably try that soon. I am currently relegated from my perfume collection as Seb has the dreaded C right now... I love the way Memo package their samples too, they look so pretty, just like their bottles 😍

These were all a good experience for me and the line for the most part felt cohesive.
