Someone's already said it, but this man's cracked the code. Panning for gold AND growing a following off of doing so! My late mother used to pan for gold back in the day, and I used to think of it as a bit of a wild goose chase, but after watching some of these videos, it just makes me wish I could call my mom up and ask to go gold panning with her. Love what you're doing, Dan! Keep at it.
It’s kind of like fishing…. You may have a hook in the water and not catch one fish but you still had a great time. It’s really about being outdoors… fresh air and sunshine…. Almost zero humans… no traffic. Gold or not, it’s good for the soul…. And if you do get some gold…. Just icing on the cake
its not cracking a code its being a dousche bag
@@francisschweitzer8431 Very well said !
It's almost like he's hit... pay dirt!
It's all about finding the sweet spot! Sweet as in secret lol
Looks like you've made a full recovery re your heart from the way you were throwing those rocks around. I'm glad, 'cause that means we'll be seeing your videos for a long time to come.
I wish he'd take his dads advice and get the young guys to do that kinda heavy lifting.
he took your advice :)
So happy to see you on the Fraser again. This is going to be a great season.
Hey Dan. I ordered some of your garnet gems concentrations and it gave me so many smaller gemstones. Thank you so much for the opportunity for my to use them for my daughter coming in August.
Positive vibes bring positive lives
Even though it looks cold, that landscape looks incredible.
That's the problem with Canada
Hey Dan love your show I've been watching you from the the state of Maine for over a year now I have a suggestion for you when it gets down to Bedrock is to carry around a handheld battery powered shop vacuum so that when you get down to bedrock you can vacuum everything up dry or wet into the bag and dump it out in your pan then you can see the crevices more clearly to scrape them out you can even metal detect each crevice individually with a pinpointer like the Garrett carrot. Good luck and God bless you. Your show has been very educational to me. Thanks a bunch Jim Bailey
I want to see Dan and Shane Klesh hunt with Flour Gold wizards Jason . Dan has pan skills , shane and Jason are a match . Make it happen . Working for that Wisconsin gold!
I live In Saskatchewan but used to fish the Fraser river and I always thought I had an Idea where Pickerton was . Now that you introduced John I know exactly where it is . Happy pickin
Not a bad day on the Frasier Dan. Some gold in the pan and some new friends. Happy hunting and be well

Excellent find gold Vidio🇨🇦🇲🇨🌸❤️⚒️⛏️✋👍👍👍👍
You must have the opposite of dishwasher hands. As an HD mechanic hands are so beaten up by the age of 33 that if I had them in the cold water like you I would be howling in pain haha.
Great video Dan. I've binge watched lots of your videos this weekend and I'm absolutely loving them! Thank you for sharing your adventures with us here in the UK 🇬🇧.
The algorithm must be pushing his videos in the uk at the moment. I discovered this channel Thursday and watched a lot this weekend too.
@@hopkinsmiler I do think that, too. Same happened here but months ago.
The drone sure does give you a great layout of everything! I seen some really good spots that have the look of sluice box mats. Very Very Interesting!
That first picker looks like N.H. where i reside! Thanks Dan and happy pickerin!
Glad to see the season is starting for you Dan, you found gold and had a great time, what more could you ask for (except a few more pickers). Always a pleasure watching your video's, looking at that scenery is amazing!
So as a tow truck driver. I love those gloves. They offer great fit and awesome dexterity.
I like that you say "I hope to EARN your subscription today!" I feel like most UA-camrs beg for a subscription.
Glad the season has changed back on the Gold 🇦🇺
I've been waiting to see what the massive floods did to claims on the Frasier in terms of new gold. So excited to see the gold this year, especially after this.
Always excited to watch you back on the Fraser. Beautiful gold
As usual I'm never disappointed if there's not much gold in the pan the locations are amazing. It's great to see you flipping the big stones again without having to worry about your heart. It must feel really good to be firing on all cylinders. Thanks for taking us along stay safe.
Hi Dan, I love Pickerton, I love it to see you there, you seem to be very happy 😄 So wish you luck and I hope you'll enjoy - this season 🤠 best regards from Munich, Jens (Sunday at the creek)
Good to see you out again. Also enjoyed seeing the locals and their support for what you do. Keep it up!
My friend Dan I went out prospecting this weekend and some of the ground look like the best ground I've ever prospected. I got skunked out for 90% of the day got my car stuck and had to hike 6 extra miles to get help took less than 5 minutes to pull my car out they were some crazy artillery shells sized potholes pointed my story no matter how good the ground looks no matter how good you think the river is nature has its own plans I just love the content Dan. Keep it comin love the content
I have been in mineral detection for 30 years or so. I started out with electronic machines and graduated to Dowsing from Google Earth Images and it works very well for me. Over the years I have passes over 300 blind tests with "Flying Colors". I am generally glad to help others. Robert
You HAVE earned my Subscription. Happy to be on board!
There is nothing better than seeing you happy at Pickerton Dan! Awesome video!
This looks like a fun activity to do and soak some fresh air at the same time.
Hey Dan, love your videos! Definitely earned my sub. I moved out to Colorado and was wanting to pick up gold panning. I love the outdoors, love gold, and love geology. I'm buying my first pan today, using your methods, I feel confident. I'll keep you updated!
You are a dang good guy, Dan Hurd.!
Nice vid Dan👍🏻 The Fraser is awesome⛏🏴
Looking good Dan, I’ve had two of my best days panning over the past two weeks and even found myself a picker. Although it’s smaller than what you would probably call a picker, but I was just able to pinch it up with my fingers and since I find mostly flour gold in my area ive gotta take what I can get. Lol
Ohhhhhh Dan ... thats snow !!! Ewwwwww !!!! Thanks nice video.. thanks 😫😫
Nice work Dan not the worst haul for the day. I need to get out to my spot I have now named pickerton 2 because I've had over 30 pickers from it. Just not been on it due to bad weather and broken equipment. But iv done a few Bush fixes and should get me going again. ⛏🏴
Dan is the man with the plan and a bright shiny pan!
Great work Dan!
You know yur stuff Dan! Really enjoy watching yur videos and I learn a ton! Keep it up! Yur an inspiration for us, we appreciate it!
Dan your page has seriously earned more than my sub. We love this page! Any chance you have an adventure in Ohio?
what a fun chance to meet people
Your videos are so enjoyable to watch 👍
Hi Dan from Australia love your vids keep up the good work
You're totally right, Dan! That looked like a good day! ✌️❤️🙂🇨🇦
Love watching you pan!! Great finds.. clay made for cold fingers!!! Thanks for the video's!!!!!👍👍
Such a likeable and funny Dude.
Good Luck Dan, you’re so diligent…you deserve all those pickers x
Nice gold and awesome friends.
Good morning Mr. Hurd , Man I don't know how you do it ! So cold ! I would build a fire and have lots of fire wood ready. It was snowing here last night . stay warm, make fire ! enjoy the day!!
Hello again from Australia Dan.
Looks forward to the spring/ summer.
I live in suburban midwest and just ordered my first bag of gem and gold paydirt😊 I’m so excited for my first gold panning session and I’ve been binging your how-to playlist to prepare
I bought some of Dan's dirt and got one of his pickers!
It was fun panning the bag of dirt. In the end I paid 2/3 of it for the plastic bag but,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, I got one of DAN'S PICKERS!!!
How many others here can say that?
Amazing perfec 😍
Hi Dan. I enjoy your videos and find them informative. I have ordered gold bags, mixed gem, ocean stone and assorted jade from your website. I am completely happy with what you sent and will order more. Thank you.
I Love watching your videos!
great to see you looking so well my friend .things will pick up on that claim I'm sure.
Wow Dan, that was awesome here. Very nice finding the gold filled hole again on your Pinkerton claim. And you had some extras as well. Lmao.
I am living my adventures through him 😂
Nice 👍👍 god bless and stay safe and well and thank you for sharing 🙏🥰💖
I'm going to plan a trip to try and land Fraser river sturgeon and then I'm going to try and pan for Fraser river gold 😊. Ordering my pan this weekend.
Good morning from Southeast South Dakota
Hey Dan, I love your videos, and the pickerton claim videos are the best, thanks man...
You earned my subscription today. Great videos 👍👍
Nice pan Dan
Dan, I understand you're reasoning for throwing away the overburden and going to the bottom, but if all you're finding is new ( Probably washed in this winter ) would that overburden still have gold that hasn't had the chance to settle to the bottom? Probably just me being afraid to miss any I would pan it all and waste a lot of time
I've gotten some nice gold panning overburden deposited during winter and flooding, as you pointed out...not all gold instantly drops to the bottom, it has to work its way down
Hey Dan, thank you for great content and for sharing the fun and outdoors with us. You remind me of a tall "Yosemite Sam"! You have a much better attitude and disposition, of course. Remember, you can pick your claim, you can pick your friends and you can pick your nose. But you can't pick your friends nose on your claim. Outdoor wisdom. lol.
Glad to see you're doing great. We'll see you on the next video
Dan I know you've had claim jumpers on a few of your properties, would the locals who live above pickerton be willing keep half an eye on it for you?
The gold is just a bonus.
I found your channel two days ago and yes you have earned my sub lol. I live very close to the fraisure in Colorado
The drone shots make the video more like a documentary, nice!
your camera is insane! love your videos btw♥
Great content Dan 👍
I just found the channel and subbed right away. I really appreciate your reverence for nature in your videos and find them quite relaxing. Also I love the camera angles 👌
I have two questions for you, Dan. Are your gloves insulated from the cold water? If so, where did you purchase them?
Hey maybe I can answer. Those are Milwaukee gloves from Home Depot I believe, and only the black part is waterproof. I used them all winter in Ontario to frame and they were awesome. Just enough insulation to maintain some level of dexterity. 👍🏻 cost $11 per pair but well worth it.
@@bacongrz Thank you. I'll check them out later.
a bad day on the river is better than a good day at work always.
Hey Dan, thanks for the video. Got a question for you. Have you ever did a video on how to go about finding a claim and what's all involved. Such as, where to find listed claims, the cost, etc.. If you have, I would love to watch it, if not maybe you could make one. Thanks again! Your friend, Steve Bonds from Bay City, Michigan USA
Another banger Dan!
Cool weather is probably nice considering in a few months the mosquitos that are big enough to carry you away will be out in droves. This looks like a place where you need to own a vat of DEET.
Hey Dan thanks for the video ,i love it ,its very relaxing.. 👍👍👍👍👍👏👏👏👏👏
suggestions and maybe you do why not take all the black sand in your end of panning back hone and running them through that magnetic separator I feel that would be most effective???
That’s what I’m talking about! Some very nice pans my man!!
🤘😁🤘⛰⛏🇨🇦
There is nothing like the feel of fresh snow melt to remind you to bring your gloves - Next Time !!
Very nice Dan! :) Take care Buddy! Regards JJ
I have a suggestion. Can you and your dad smelt some black sand into iron? I would like to see that process. It may also create a new product for your store. You get so much black sand it would be cool if you could use it.
I think you should invest in a shop vac to really get into those cracks.
Great video. Be careful. Not over doing it on the heavy rocks. 🙏
You didn't find what you had hoped for but you found a nice amount of fine gold and hopefully a batch of new friends.
Sir its much better if you make more videos about Jade stone👍 I always waiting you carry jade in a river🙏🏼
Gold 😅 gold gold everywhere in mind
Wow nice first pan hope your day is a great one
Gracias por compartir, excelente!
Nice job!
I really enjoy these videos and it has me intrigued and I wanna go panning in my area I have so many questions I have watched several of your QA's but still would like to ask you for myself. do a QA one of these days lol.
Your killing it on the fine gold looking good
I really think a small battery powered shop vac would be useful.
Thank you for sharing. You should try to remember to keep spare gloves in your truck to save your poor hands. Have fun.😉😊
Great video!
Great video. Hope to see u get alot from that spot this year. Have a great day.
Dan, all I can say is... "Gold and women!"
I gotta admit uncle Bacon is a cool nickname. Lol
