You have inspired me in so many positive ways your always so happy even when the pan is empty! I strive to make people as happy as you do! Keep up the awesome work!!
This is the kind of videos that made me sub years ago. I like these just chilling and panning not out for the money as much as just being out of the house.
Sure you didn't find a lot of gold, and it wasn't the best day you have had on the river, but it was still a FINE day on the Fraser. Also, the biggest piece of gold around is you, Dan, and we thank you for inviting us along every week to watch you poke, prod, and dig for gold and precious stones.
@@G00G00L True, but to put it into perspective the sell value of what he found is about $50. Take into account the gas, travel time, and placer cost, and he's making less than $3/hr (of coarse this isn't including what he gets from UA-cam, selling rocks/other minerals, etc.). A person definitely needs to consider it an enjoyable hobby first and foremost at that rate, anything else is a bonus.
That jade is really nice with the light on it glad you're still enjoying what you do Dan always make me smile especially your intro its like when i first ever watched you i hope i earned your subscription today! Absolute classic! 🤣👍😁❤ From UK
The best part of you loving the search sir, is the information you give in these videos on those adventures. You take the time to point things out that us new comers may not see. This helps us grow and enjoy our adventures more. Thank you for sharing your knowledge and taking us along on the adventure.
"Wow, I can't believe my eyes! Just stumbled upon a massive pile of gold while exploring along the Fraser River. This is absolutely incredible! The thrill of discovery is unmatched. Can't wait to see what other treasures this river holds. Stay tuned for more adventures!"🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
"Its a numbers game" says Dan, and never a truer or more valuable life lesson has been spoken than that. EVERYTHING in life is a numbers game and learning where to focus your attention is the difference between success and wishful thinking. Of course that river's not a bad place to sit and just watch life go by anyway. 😂
thanks for the great content Dan! 0.68g of gold is currently $47.32 usd. Gas for the truck calculated approx. $33.76 usd from peachland to lytton (assumption) highway driving a dodge ram at 13 L/100km, gas prices at $1.62/L cad. You’re making profit! yeeaaahhh! So thanks again for the content! I appreciate the passion, the knowledge, the craft, the skills, the dedication and the entertainment. include current monetization and this is a win win win.
Fantastic stuff Dan, great to see you out panning again, there is something quite therapeutic in panning, looks a cracking hobby. not quite the same here in the UK , Appreciate your efforts 👍🏼👍🏼
I'm glad to see you are doing well, Dan, and it was nice seeing u in person again, just like old times. And i love the content ur posting lately. It's been so entertaining and educational keep it coming.
Just adding; your videos have been such a constant of positivity and joy in my life for so many years, thank you for letting us go on these journeys with you 💜 you're like a prospecting Mr. Rogers
@@Danhurd Absolutely appreciate what you do. And with the utmost respect to, and your family 👍 The world of panning does respect you! Cheers from Chilliwack👍😎
Dan... some guys were from Australia were wondering if you can train dogs to find gold. Who needs dogs? Dan has trained a sturgeon to yabbi up gravels from the river and spit it in his pan. LOL
Ice was out on the lakes here, zero snow left on the ground, and spring had just sprung on the calendar... Then mother nature dumped about 50cm of snow yesterday, and of course, my snowblower was acting funky after being fine all winter. 😂
Love the videos Dan. Its such a nice relaxing vibe and we can tell you have fun doing it. As long as it doesnt get too exhausting, I hope you keep putting videos out!
Great video good to see you out early. The slow motion panning was pretty cool and clarity was great throughout was literally watching for gold to show in back corners of your pan. Nice job!
I've caught a wicked cold and up in middle of the night watching and it cracks me up. I've got 3 cats crowded onto my lap all intently watching you pan for gold with me lol. They keep trying to touch the screen after the rocks lol.
I love watching gold prospectors and I get ridiculously happy when they strike colour! I’m so pleased for them. Good on Dan, he works so hard and has studied his craft. I also feel for his poor cold hands. He deserves all his hard earned good luck😊🎉🎉🎉 As the old Scots saying goes “ mony a mickle maks a muckle”…
Those trains you love to see, I used to work on the CPR side. Might of seen you before I knew of you, if you panned the Frazer between 97 and 2000. Love your show, keep panning!
Woohoo!!! Great finds! I learn so much about panning from you and am excited to finally get out there this year and find some for myself here in Colorado ❤
The slo-mo on the panning here really helps people understand what they should be looking to move when clearing off the top debris... plus it looks cool 😎
You tell'em Dan ! My only thought would be to dig deeper, thinking there might be older deposits under the bluff fluff ! But it's your spot and you know it better then anyone else !
I know that you are happy to be able to get out there and search for gold and to prospect new areas on your claim. Stay safe Dan and see you on the next video.
Ohhh Dan! Thank you for giving me my weekly dose o'gold! I wanted to be on here for the live but was driving. Gosh how I miss you and everyone! My schedule will be questionable for the next couple of months. 😭 Oh well, that's life unfortunately. I had a question about the last area that produced the most gold in your pan. Do you that it might be that the area is not as accessible, thereby it is not "worked" as often? Just a thought.... It was wonderful to see you so relaxed and enjoying the 'hunt.' Your smile said it all! I appreciate you and your family. I hope that everyone is doing well and hope to see them soon. In the meantime, I'll send you extra sunshine and blessings from Alabama ❤️
Please understand this is only my opinion ok.. You know your claim way better than anyone else around so I feel that others should not question your knowledge of what you are doing in your videos, but we do love the funny armchair prospector's knowledge of everything someone does wrong. Keep up the great job and providing knowledge for everyone else. Love your videos..
I’m going out today for my first pan of the year as well. Just going to Mission Creek because it’s 10 min from my house 😂 I’m sure I’ll find some nice flakes though!
Thanks you for this great video. Very educational. By telling us why you want to check out certain places, why your expectancies are low or where you might strike some lucky, you are teaching your viewers in an extraordinairy way about prospecting. It is not only about showing pans with as much gold as possible in it. You give a very complete picture of not only goldpanning but also of what prospecting is all about. How about a Prospecting Lesson Of The Day every now and then in your video's? 😃 ♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️
Dan, I watch everything you do. I just put my feet in a river yesterday. Yes there is still some ice but im in love with the search. I might find something one day if i keep searching. So I'm still broke but i got lots of fresh air.
Hey, why not have a hand-held metal detector or wand for your large rocks? Just to a quick wave over the large stuff, if it goes off then check it. It would take a couple of seconds and it gives you peace of mind.
Dan its always a pleasure watching you at both work and play which is the essence of the most perfect job imaginable. It would be great to hear some snippets of "The Ecstasy Of Gold" playing in the background ...you could time the song's crescendo to contents of the pan. Thanks again!
Such great videos, showing the beauty of the Fraser River area in the beautiful province of B.C. I spent a fair amount of time skiing at Whistler Blackcomb in the late 70s and 80s. Thanks for the adventuresome videos. Don Wilson, Tacoma, Washington.
The trains reminded me of a little model train museum in Victoria that has the displays set up in historically accurate manner to show mining and logging operations. Not sure if it's still open but if so, definitely worth a look.
And to those wondering.... Dan can make more money from youtube ad revenue by just taking it easy and prospecting for gold, than he can by breaking his back shoveling and panning in one spot nonstop. Hard-core people like the nonstop gold panning....BUT the masses of people like the "adventure" of prospecting videos. So it makes more sense for him to cater to the larger audience....
My family is all over the world including BC and we all enjoy watching you, here in NZ its illegal to pan in most places, ive aleays wanted to try it, looks so fun!
I've been watching your adventures Dan for 2 or 3 years now and just realised I wasn't subscribed, done so now.. It's nice to see you prospecting and how you choose your spot. As they say though, you find the gold and then work out why its there. Its a percentage game as you pointed out with you clasifier.. I live in Spain and have been meaning to go up to Ugijar to pan. Ulyses mentions it in the Odysey but he doesn't tell us if he found anything..Perhaps he kept it quiet for a reason?
You do you Dan! Don't listen to those naysayers, you know what you know. I wouldn't be able to not check on that one in a million chance, but that's me and your way certainly works! Much love Dan
Hey Dan, in October 2023 I lost a silver handmade earring on the upper Fraser near mount Robson while doing Swiftwater rescue. I doubt it’ll make it down to you but part of me hopes I’ll see it again in one of your videos. Haha big dreams but one can hope!
So glad you're still posting your adventures
Thanks
Pretty envious as well😂
Im about to buy his paydirt to practice, not the same with copper even tho I’m better practice
Dan has there been any attempts at finding something that would attract gold , like a magnet attracts metal.
You have inspired me in so many positive ways your always so happy even when the pan is empty! I strive to make people as happy as you do! Keep up the awesome work!!
It's all a learning experience, same in life working experiences

New to your channel and I'm glad you mentioned why you didn't look at the stones in the classifier as I was curious, makes total sense to me!
