Baofeng? BF-21 PRO V2 Unboxing & Overview

- Doing a little unboxing and checking out the new Baofeng BF-21 Pro V2. There are definitely some odd things with this radio but nothing we don't typically expect from a Baofeng. Or is it a legit Baofeng product? Watch and see what I mean. Thanks for watching. Please like and Subscribe I really appreciate the support! I put the amazon links and the ebay link below. I think the amazon link is a better deal and you do get a second antenna for it. I do believe it's the same exact radio as the BF-21 Pro V2. What's with all the goofy names! Lol. I looked at mine this morning. Same manual as yours. Only difference is I picked the orange one. I have a lot to learn on this little radio. I agree, Good looking radio and screen is nice size.
I am just about to buy one for my car. It makes me thinking that the reception is noisy when USB charging is plugged. Do all Baofeng radios have this problem? Any comment about the air-band reception?
@@ysyang I think you would be better off with the baofeng UV-17 Pro GPS. Much better airband reception and it has memory banks. And no other stupid issues but I have noticed and it does come in that green color if you want it Ali Express has them super inexpensive. I just did a video on one today you should go look it up and see for yourself
@@northmanproject4007 Thank you for the feedback. I have largely ignored UV-17 Pro GPS as I originally thought that a higher model number means a newer design / better performance. It looks that the UV-17 Pro GPS could become another classical UV-5R. Baofeng has SO MANY models which are confusing. Thank you very much for the recommendation. I would also like to use it as a UHF CB radio operating near 477MHz. It would be helpful if you or someone have the transmission power figure at 477MHz.
Amazon has HAM version Boafeng UV-21R, GMRS version Boafeng GM21, both looking identical. Yours is BF21, I looked on Amazon can't find it. Also, both that I mentioned are NOT available on Boafeng website.
What is so different between all these models, also, why Boafeng would not have them for sale on their website?
I bought the Amazon HAM version, UV-21. But, my booklet / guide has BF-21 series printed on it. Under the battery, on the radio, it has UV21#### printed on radio. Not sure if there is a difference or if this helps.
You can very easily change screen timeout etc using Chirp software.
Nice yeah I figured it might be. That's next in the process. But yeah thank you. I will amend that in my review!
... or even easier, just click the green menu button, go to Option#6 ABR Display, then select how long you want the display to remain on (5 sec, 10 sec, 15 sec, 20 sec). 👍

That's good to know. Have you experienced the distortion on receive while charging?
@@northmanproject4007 you know I haven’t tried it but when I get home I’ll give it a shot
So yes I have the same problem everything gets distorted when charging

The biggest problem with Baofeng is that they are so cheap that you just have to buy them 🤪
Yeah that's true I find myself having to reduce my expectations quite often. They have their purpose for sure I guess. Honestly I have a few more to review but after I get those out of the way I probably won't be buying Baofengs for awhile. I have so many more other cool things to do on the channel. But yeah they're so close but yet so far. Thanks for the comment.

Quería compartir mi experiencia con la compra del Baofeng UV-21 Pro V2 en AliExpress. Aunque el radio ha funcionado bien hasta ahora, me llegó con un manual que no corresponde al modelo que adquirí. Tras abrir una disputa, el vendedor solo me reembolsó la mitad del dinero, y no he podido encontrar el manual correcto en línea.
Si estás considerando comprar este equipo, te recomiendo que verifiques con el vendedor si el manual incluido es el adecuado antes de realizar la compra. Es importante tener la información correcta para el uso y mantenimiento del radio.
