Hello, great video 🎉 I have 2 questions, can I use batteries from other Sony cameras in the fx3 or just from the specific series, what does it come with? And to connect the fx3 to power, what do I need?
Yes you can use the NP-FZ100 battery geni.us/1EoFp0 in any camera that takes one. Pretty much all of the full frame Sony cameras these days use the FZ100 Battery. As far as powering the camera goes I use this affordable after market unit: geni.us/KfnlFY As far as USB PD Power goes, I've been using this charger: geni.us/Y9ByFn and this 10 foot cable so I can move the camera around wherever I want in the studio: geni.us/G3c9s1
Thanks for this. It was an amazing Tutorial and I learnt so much before investing in an FX3. Can I ask a really stupid basic question but I can't find a clear answer for it anywhere. The 2 stereo mics you showed. That is to record Audio right? All FX3 videos talk about the XLR and mic jack to record audio but no one has talked about being able to and the quality of the in camera mic. I want to buy this to travel to film my adventures but don't want to have external accessories connected to it. So can you record audio directly into the body and if so is it decent? Just asking as I know the FX6 doesn't record audio and needs external mics. Thanks!
Yes the camera does have a built in mic, but it is not good compared to even a small external mic. This is a professional grade camera, so it's expected to use professional grade audio as well. That does not mean you have to though of course...

- Do you have any other follow-up videos/playlists to this on the FX3/FX30, specifically focused on video, rather than photography
- Could you recommend what would be the optimal settings to connect the camera to the Atem Mini Pro (for multiple sources), particularly given the Atem is only 1080p capable currently, as I'm not sure how to best tweak the settings for this primary use case I will be using it for

@@Jason_Hermann one question. You obviously know cameras. I purchased this fx3, still not knowing if I should keep it or my canon r5c. Which would you keep moving forward. You obviously know a lot more about camera and I’m a step above an amateur. Thank you so much.
@@drtravisrader 100% Sony FX3... The Canon R5C is awesome, but the battery life is horrific and pretty much requires a rig or a pocket of batteries to use. Also, Sony has so many lens options where Canon as very few, especially for video. I hope that helps, Jay
@@Jason_Hermann thank you so much Jason.
I was wondering if the audio controls can be set so that the shotgun can be fed to both channels, like a traditional video camera? Thanks.
THANK YOU SO MUCH great video
Glad you enjoyed it and thanks for the kind words :)
Would you consider doing a similar tutorial for SONY FX6? Thank you
I know this is off point. I hope you and your family are in good health. Liberty NY (Red Apple Rest) brings back memories. Great presentation. Very useful in my decision whether or not to purchase the camera. Can you tell me if RX100 is suitable for street photography at any hour of the day? If not can you make a suggestion? I want to stay in the compact camera arena. TYI Joel
Hey Gumbo and yes the RX100- series cameras can do it all and it's ultra compact as well ;) I would lean towards one of the newer models though if possible, because they are notable better than the earlier models...
