Nice video. I am confused, though. At 1:52, Adam chose a fold-over rake detail. At 2:03, the installer was installing the perimeter flashing. He called this a clete. Thien, at 3:15, were hear this is rake flashing. The differences in terminology confused me.

You can shoot all of your trim down with a roofing nail gun. If you still feel like you need screws then you come back and put a few screws in it. Most of us have to think about time in these installations. Those little pan headed square drive screws are a joke!
And the paint on every metal panel I have ever used is some of the softest thinnest paint I have ever seen. You look at that stuff and it scratches!

Like to see them do that on a 10/12 pitch

Do you think I need snow guards when I have solar panels?

It is a good idea to explore snow guard options when looking into installing solar panels as well. -Thad

Is roofing regulated? Ice and water shield on the flashing and valleys standard? Getting a roof put on now and they did not apply any adhesive strips on the flashing or valleys.

This is an installment based on Sheffield Metals requirements for their weathertight warranty. Installers sometimes will follow different installation methods. The extra strip of ice & water shield is an extra step to help prevent the possibility of water intrusion through the fasteners. -Thad

You have any info on copper roofing?

    • @TheMetalRoofingChannel

We haven't covered copper installations at this point. Is there something specific you'd like to see in the future? -Thad

@@TheMetalRoofingChannel umm, really everything. I’m planning a ICF cabin in NE Maine and figure that a copper roof will last several lifetimes.
At 41 squares I guess my roof is rather large (structure will be 50X30 with a 4/12 or 6/12 pitch).
So I really want to know everything, lol. Anything that needs to be avoided so longevity is not compromised. You supply all fasteners as well?
I still have two years before ground breaking, there is plenty of time.

Yes, Sheffield Metals will supply fasteners as well. I can look into doing some copper content in the future. Are you taking on the install project yourself? -Thad
