Cliff was taken way too young, he was a god on the bass and honestly the only part of Metallica I respect with a passion, not only due to his playing but his use of theory in metallicas music
+Chase Pendleton Yes, he taught them a lot, especially the harmonies. I so expect the book about Master of Puppets that releases this year. We'll learn much more about Cliff then
Unless you play an instrument you may not get or even understand the nuiances of what you just saw right there. That's the beauty of this type of art and masters of it.
another amazing performance, and I liked how you mixed everything. The bass sound is very clean and high so people can hear better the bass track! A perfect performance! You are a great bass player!
I have been watching for a while. PERFECTION! You deserve a lot more attention. I love the way you keep Cliff's spirit alive within this channel. BTW Salut from Romania
Hamse wait cliff was before Jason on m.o.p I hope you know cause Jason mostly played root notes so did cliff but cliff also sometimes followed the guitars
9.9/10 Really well done dude, Metallica is my all time fav band. They are the best, you always do awesome with ya covers man. These covers are the best on youtube. I have yet to find anyone who even touches you with ability to get it how you get it. Great timing and heart and soul gone into every moment. Well done man
Im not sure if the Cliff Burton isolated track on UA-cam is legit but I was fascinated to see he didn't actually mimics the guitars on the riff before the main verse riff. I swear though I saw him play it like James on Cliff Em All. I always found it hard to play because my hand is so stretched out trying to play frets 1-4. I see you lead up to mimicking James by started after the third slide/pull off thing from G.
I see you took my advice and had lots of fun, it was clearly visible during the video. :) Awesome work man, this was Cliff's favourite Metallica song btw and you did extremely well on this master... piece. :D
+DerTodesmeister Thanks) I could take it unconsciously. I decided to give up some accuracy for more drive. I like what turns out, so anyway thank you for that) \m/
wOw man ! really nice job and really fucking cool review on your web-site!!! that's amazing that you did both versions ( Cliff's and live) , pretty cool! thank you so much for great work =)
I wish I was good at editing songs because if I was I would love to put your bass track into all of metallicas songs, kind of like a remastered/bass boosted version. I'm always looking for enhanced bass remixes of their songs and none of them sound how I'd like them to. It would be awesome if you could do that, unless you cant for copyright reasons or something
Thanks for this video, I finally found myself in a situation where I have to learn the entire song, and your video is very helpful. Your fretting choice style is similar to mine, so watching you was easy to understand. I've seen other videos that might be more accurate, but tough to tell exactly what they're playing, and with odd fretting choices. This video saved me a lot of time. I haven't had a song learning challenge like this in a bout 20 years, so i'm a little rusty learning by ear.
Andriy Vasylenko I've never ever been one to be meticulous about playing other people's bass lines note for note, sometimes I'll even just write my own bass line to a song at band practice. But with a song like this, with somewhat intricate parts, you pretty much have to learn the right notes. Otherwise I'm usually content with just being in key and complimenting the guitar parts.
on E string, holds "1", on A string, alternate: 2 3 and 4 while playing 1 in the E, it will sound like this: E 1 1 1 1 1 1 1 1 A 2 3 4 3 2 2 3 4 and so on...
man, that fucking spider riff I can barelly play on guiitar, I think I need practice on bass even more it is so fucking hard in finger picking to do triplets on 2 strings at that speed. have some tips? Might practice 3 fingers picking I believe you do that as well during the interlude.
Muchas felicitaciones. Voy a intentar tocar el bajo. Gran interpretación.
Very good! I'd argue it's one of the hardest songs in Cliff's discography. Was that a small mess up at 2:23? Also what technique or practice do you recommend for the main riff?
+Domenick boucher Thank you! About the dirty played thing - could be) I gave up some quality, hope, not so much, to bring more drive and liveness (if this word exists))). And I feel better with my perfectionism after that)) The crucial thins is to play apoyando (a finger lands on lowers string every time, it saves energy and movement for speed + sounds clearer). All stuff played I played besides helped me to take Master of Puppets riffs. The hardest one for me was a riff before last verse
On the opening riff is that just James and Cliff? I’m not sure I hear a second guitar on the accenting parts sounds like bass and drums only. What do you think?
Hello Andriy awesome cover! I just wanted to ask - I am a guitar player playing bass.I don´t mean that I play bass just like electric guitar I wanted to say that I started to play bass after two years of playing guitar which gave me really a lot of help with learning the instrument. But I am playing with pick and that´s kinda the problem. In my band we are great fans of Metallica and as you surely know playing Cliff´s parts with pick is bullshit. Do you know any exercise that should help improve my playing using fingers? :) Once again awesome cover! :) I was searching for a long time for good Metallica bass covers so I can learn myself and you´re definitelly the best! :)
+Jan Kluska Thank you so much bro! \m/ Why is that bullshit?? Jason coped with Cliff's stuff pretty good. Now I'm learning pick playing, by the way) Anyway, I wrote a book about all stuff a beginner bassist should know. It's here andriyvasylenko.com/an-introduction-to-bass/ There's also a thing about playing bass after guitar in FAQ in the book. Write me, if you have any quiestions
"Do you all know Andriy Vesylenko over here!"
"Hi Andriy, how ya doin"
DISTORTED BASS SOLO
Naveen Kumar Mavi Everybody say hi Andriy, how ya doin'?"
everyone Hi Frrrrriends
*crowd and friends cheers like crazy*
if you play Ride the lightning i will get crazy man
+Omar De Leon Actually I planned to make it right after Orion. I love bass from RTL, one of my favorites. So I play it in a month)
ua-cam.com/video/7FmGhlnPQZg/v-deo.html
Andriy, ifhavent already... please do man!! Much love from Australia 🤘🏼🤘🏼
We'll learn much more about Cliff then
Cliff's era songs is the only thing about Metallica that I love. Its beautiful.
@@arleteribeiro8790 honestly, same
cliff Is what made Metallica create harmonies
Chase Pendleton him dave and james were the only ones i acc like alot
If the tone was meatier, PETA would ban it
Unless you play an instrument you may not get or even understand the nuiances of what you just saw right there. That's the beauty of this type of art and masters of it.
\m/\m/
Bass players are underappreciated, this is awesome!
We're fixing it) Thanks!
It was a pleasure to play Puppetz on my guitar, with you on the bass !
\m/
Is this guy Chuck Shuldiner's doppelganger or what?
Everytime you finish plucking a note, the echo sounds like applause 👏 👏
That's pretty sweet!
we have some fucking heavy bass execution here, congrats, i think its a little reverby, but it´s ok sounds cool
Thank you! \m/
another amazing performance, and I liked how you mixed everything. The bass sound is very clean and high so people can hear better the bass track! A perfect performance! You are a great bass player!
Thank you! Actually I didn't try to remix the song. Just played my bass over that. That'd be too loud for mix)
That's a mighty bass tone you've got going on there!
Love your sound man, nothing like it, really unique.
Rock on \m/
I couldn’t help but sing along. This and all your other bass covers are godly, dude
I have been watching for a while. PERFECTION! You deserve a lot more attention. I love the way you keep Cliff's spirit alive within this channel. BTW Salut from Romania
The perfect homage perfectly done with your guts ! Bravo !
+Roger Chtarponne Thanks a lot! \m/
Finally! Someone who plays the main riff correctly! I always see stupid kids playing what James plays on bass and that's incorrect.
Thanks, but it's not that correct) I plan to play it again soon, 100% note for note
James? Or do you mean Jason?
Skeptik Cliff plays the way that Jason did on MoP! Rob plays note for note! This is totally awesome!!
Hamse wait cliff was before Jason on m.o.p I hope you know cause Jason mostly played root notes so did cliff but cliff also sometimes followed the guitars
Albino potato Yeah I know it! But Jason plays MoP with Cliffs style! :) Go and listen Master of Puppets bass only! :)
He had his hair tied the whole beggining of the video but starting 3:50 his hair is all free probs for headbanging\m/
9.9/10 Really well done dude, Metallica is my all time fav band. They are the best, you always do awesome with ya covers man. These covers are the best on youtube. I have yet to find anyone who even touches you with ability to get it how you get it. Great timing and heart and soul gone into every moment. Well done man
Thanks again Chris) \m/
What made it 9.9 instead of 10?
Great as always, jumped right from Sanitarium to here. This guy man; he's just rockin' casual :)
+Berker Buğur Thank you)) \m/
even headbangs like cliff?
maybe a bit) but he did it much better that me and everybody
He's Cliff's Reincarnation
wow, that almost became your signature tone! And, as always, very well played! Keep on rockin'! \m/
+Alexandr Myhaylenko That's my favorite sound) Distorted and ringing at the same time. Thank you! \m/
fantastic bro!!! cliff would be proud
thank you \m/
0:41 needs more 1's and less 0's
Cliff lives in you my friend.
do you like scream inc.?
Your bass tone is just freaking amazing
Im not sure if the Cliff Burton isolated track on UA-cam is legit but I was fascinated to see he didn't actually mimics the guitars on the riff before the main verse riff. I Really enjoyed this master piece man. Really good job and keep Rocking that Bass up with an amazing huge respect of bass guitar in Metallica songs.
Wow, great job, Andriy Burton!🤘🏻🇺🇦
I love the distorted bass in this! What pedal do you use?
30 years ago holy shit
Omg 👏
Awesome bro‼
+Rawin Mc Thank you very much! ) \m/
I see you took my advice and had lots of fun, it was clearly visible during the video. :)
Awesome work man, this was Cliff's favourite Metallica song btw and you did extremely well on this master... piece. :D

Andriy Vasylenko followed it!
Great cover! I adore your tone man!
+TimpalimpaZS Thank you so much!)
Andriy Vasylenko
Damn that tone is awesome
hey man ! you are a master in the bass solo. Thanks
My pleasure bro \m/
One hell of a tone man !
wOw man ! really nice job and really fucking cool review on your web-site!!! that's amazing that you did both versions ( Cliff's and live) , pretty cool! thank you so much for great work =)

Awesome Bang those strings dude....Yes The Burton Spirit is strong with this One.

Not at all! Btw, I plan to play it again. Some riffs are not so accurate here. You can download bass tabs on my website

Yeah, writting own lines is one of the best ways to learn bass
Cliff would damn proud of you man!!!!!
Great and fantastic

Always awesome dude! Keep it up!
+transamsforlife Thank you! \m/ \m/
Where can i find the tab that has 0:49-1:00?
on E string, holds "1", on A string, alternate: 2 3 and 4 while playing 1 in the E, it will sound like this:
E 1 1 1 1 1 1 1 1
A 2 3 4 3 2 2 3 4
and so on...
How is your bass tuned? Like how a normal bass is eadg what’s yours at? I love the sound btw!
Sweet playing man.
man, that fucking spider riff I can barelly play on guiitar, I think I need practice on bass even more it is so fucking hard in finger picking to do triplets on 2 strings at that speed. have some tips? Might practice 3 fingers picking I believe you do that as well during the interlude.

Cliff Burton didn't die. This prove it. Gods don't die.
awesome, i like hard and energetic bass!
You have a powerful ass bass sound what amps do you use and do you use any pedals?
Thanks! I don't use pedals for UA-cam videos, here's a video about that ua-cam.com/video/cCsreRgl3PQ/v-deo.html
holy hell man , AWSOME !!!!!!!!!
+Real Odessit

+273VIPER Thanks! \m/

On the opening riff is that just James and Cliff? I’m not sure I hear a second guitar on the accenting parts sounds like bass and drums only. What do you think?
Rice Panday it's only cliff and James correct

Which distortion effect are u using?
How do you get that hard tone?
What gauge of strings are you using
And how about effects
Jason? Eres tu?
Yeeaahhh.. very God Job Man !!!
Any recommendation to beginners?
badass cover!
Thank you! \m/
