bunnysavage X I got a SDGR white 4 string bass and just recently sold my fender rumble 25 amp for a mark bass cmd jb player 200w combo amp. Also have a chorus and orb-3 effect boss pedals. I feel myself getting better and better. Not only do I practice off UA-cam I also invested in a bass 1 fundamentals book off amazon. Best of luck do you have any gear of your own or are you looking to buy ?

I've said this before but I'll say it again. I would lose my mind if you did a high quality recording of your bass, isolated. Then used it to make a bass boosted remaster with the original song. Or at least make the original song that plays in videos like this one louder, so we can hear your amazing playing, and the rest of the band too. Thanks so much!!!
pretty sure there are already isolated bass tracks for most songs on Ride the Lightning, Kill 'em All and Master of Puppets. Not all of them tho. There's no isolated track for Call of Ktulu that I can find, which is sad

I combine ringing tone (fresh strings - the best for it) and crunch (blues electric guitar pre-sets). Some middle frequencies boosted

Andriy himself only (or mostly, idk) uses digital effects through computer programs and records his covers directly to his PC. I guess you can acheive such a sound with a good sound card

Andriy. On your bass tab for this song, you wrote the intro chords as 0799, but here it looks like you only play 07. Can you confirm which is correct? The studio track sounds like it's just the low E and the octave, but I could be wrong.

RTL is the album with the highest number of songs that I admire of all albums I know but it's the loud bass what makes it my favourite record of Metallica and, in fact, my favourite album ever. Title track is the most metal song - if anyone would ask me to explain what metal is, I would just play this song. And it's also thanks to bass. Your cover brings out the best thing from the best metal song I know. Thank you!
