    Pro tip expectant mothers: Witch hazel IS key, so you can also put some in your peri bottle with the warm water.
    So how i would do this is:
    1. Pee
    2. Witch hazel/water from peri bottle
    3. You don't wipe but you can pat dry. Sort of. I at least gave things a min to air dry a bit.
    4. Numbing spray. I liked the dermaplast from the hospital personally.
    5. Then you have your pad, so I would line it with like 3 tucks pads. And from there you can just pull up your pants. However, there are numbing creams I've heard of hospitals giving moms so they can alternate that and the spray, so if you have a cream i would squeeze that into your tucks pads and then pull up your pants after that lol.

      @@klaudia6429 it definitely can be. That was my experience after having my daughter and having tearing
      I learned something else recently after I had my son early December. I had no tearing and didn't use anything but the peri bottle. My junk didn't even really hurt. It was a night and day difference.

    I used the always discreet version of the adult diapers(same thing, just nude coloured)! They were amazing, very comfortable compared to the hospital pad and mesh undies, and I had no stress about leaking at all.
    I actually started wearing them when my water broke, I had small gushes every time I moved around/contracted/stood so it gave me the freedom to comfortably walk the halls and change my position without having to worry about my waters leaking anywhere. they also slip on and off really easy for cervical checks.

  • @shawnamarie1199
    @shawnamarie1199 4 роки тому +64

    Also, the adult diapers, as weird as it sounds, are great for when you get your period again for at night time. So that way you don’t bleed through onto your bedsheets.

    • @mazemarauder4179

      Honestly I was thinking the same thing, I know most people are like "ew adult diapers" but hey, in a new-mommie / mommie case, I think it's definitely worth a shot!

    • @deejayslowmotion6428
      @deejayslowmotion6428 4 роки тому +1

      And i think it can be helpful in case of any mishaps while you're rushing to the bathroom and accidentally soil yourself.. I'm due May 2020 but I'm considering adult diapers for the first month post partum because to me they seem more practical

    I’m 18 weeks pregnant with my first baby and your videos have made child birth not so much of a night mare for me! And not scary like others have made it out to be. I take classes every Thursday for pregnancy education. And you taught me more than I have learned... no one talks about postpartum!

    Those adult diapers are everything for the postpartum heavy bleeding! I felt comfortable in any position whether sitting, laying, etc. I loved this video and how honest you are. Most people don’t share this type of info which leaves new moms feeling embarrassed or alone with what’s going on. I’m pregnant with my 5th (and last!!!) baby so I was just looking for any new ideas. Good luck ❤️

    Girl, THANK YOU! As a first time mom, I am trying to read and understand postpartum care so I can try the best I can to have a positive experience, but it is SO TABOO OUT THERE! Nobody talks about HOW TO USE STUFF, WHERE TO PUT THEM, and I mean, I am sick of it! I couldn't understand the witch hazel thing, because people say "use this for down there" in videos and I am like 'WTH??' JUST CALL IT LIKE IT IS! A VAGINA! I am so frustrated that I could not find ONE single video that would tell me all the TMI's until I found you, so THANK YOU! THANK YOU for talking about the first poop, about the numbing spray and actually showing me how to do it! You rock!

    Not pregnant right now, but this is such a helpful video! Thanks for being real, Kayla :) I have a 3 year old son (so I have oh-so-fond memories of post-partum, lol). I had a vaginal birth with epidural. I also had to get an episiotomy (sp?) because my little man was sunny-side up in my birth canal and I couldn't push him past my pubic bone. Tried for about 2 hours and the epidural was wearing off. I felt A LOT at the end of delivery. Can't wait to hear about your little guy's arrival in December! Gives me baby fever! I hope to get pregnant with my 2nd in 2020 sometime. Still trying to convince hubby :)

I didn't know it was going to could be a big deal until I was leaving the hospital and the doctor asked me. The worst thing dealing with was the first 6 weeks at home was the sleepless nights.

    If you’re wanting to use pads instead of adult diapers try this Gonna sound weird but hear me out. When I was in marching band at 14/15yo my mom still wouldn’t let me use tampons but the pads were ALWAYS moving and I was a heavy bleeder... double up on your underwear. Idk how it works but it does. It helps hold everything in place

    Everything you mentioned in this video is SOOO true!!! I remember telling my nurse like WTH why is butt hurting so much??? Like I had no idea that was normal 🥴🥴 and it was really painful like you said.
    I used the Always discreet diapers and I LOVED THEM!!! They’re super comfortable and “cute” compared to the ones you get from the hospital 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻 Best of luck with this 2nd childbirth and postpartum recovery!

      I would also recommend getting Chamomile & Anise tea. It helped me SO MUCH with gas 😣 gas + butt pain = no bueno
      The tea was a life saver! 🙌🏻

    I HIGHLY recommend kotex pads for postpartum not maternity ones, i don't know if you can get them where you live, they are really cheap here in the UK. they are so soft and they are quilted and the the blood doesn't sit on the surface like it does with the vast majority of pads aimed at postpartum. I had 67 stitches so a small snip sounds like bliss LOL! get black cheap big pants and black nightshirts rather than pj's so when you are examined it makes it easier, also you don't want the seam of the trousers sticking up your lady garden after childbirth lol! you can get black paper pants but they are aimed at bladder weakness so wear a pad with them x

      The brand for the black bladder weakness pads are made by Tena.

    Always discreet boutique are awesome and the mom washer is nice. Definitely take them to the hospital. Also Advil (the name brand liquid gels) really helped with pain. The other medication you mentioned did not help me with pain. I also used period panties with a regular pad once my bleeding got lighter for when I went to bed.

    Oh heck yes to the always discreet 🙌🏻😂 they were a lifesaver after giving birth, I felt totally safe at night leakage wise and holding my pee after a vaginal delivery was...tough so I was very grateful for them for multiple reasons 😂😂😂

    Yes I used the adult diapers LOL. They were so useful. I didn't have to worry about pads shifting in my underwear or anything and it was just less layers to worry about and it seemed more convenient. I also used the mesh underwears with pads for a while and liked the diapers better. I would look at my little and be like "girl we match! diaper twins!" haha just make the best of it

    im also due with baby boy in december and i have the same adult diapers for recovery... I had a miscarriage last year and it was the only thing i felt comfortable in after trying all the different pads and leaking everywhere. Plus they are just easier, no separate pieces to deal with and you just throw the whole thing away when your done.
