  • Ol' Silver gets some TLC and game-changing upgrades in the form of fresh bumpers, upper control arms, CV axles, and headlights! After 8 years and 186,000 miles of HARD usage (mostly towing too!) she's far from retirement.

I’ve been putting off bumpers since we got our 2019 because I haven’t been crazy about anything, but these are super sharp. Slim and nothing over the top. Sharp ole silver 👌🏼

Kevin this mod looks sexier than ever on Silver. I love the look and everything. I wish I am able to do the same thing to my rig right now. Bravo to you on choosing such a great set of bumpers, control arms, and axles! Hopefully one day I can see the rig in person at the East Overland Expo and pick on your brain on how you start your journey on fixing up Ole Silver. Can't wait to see your upcoming videos with this mod!

Great content and mods! Used to live in Cookeville Tennessee but now live in Ontario Canada. I also have a 4runner and a 1986 60 series H2 diesel. Love 'em both dearly and would never go with another manufacturer. Keep the passion!

Love that AFN front bumper - some great innovation with the DRLs and the TSS mounting plate for those of us with 2020+ 4Runners! Great styling too! No point in looking at a low-pro bumper for me anymore!

I just did a front suspension refresh on my 2008 Jeep GC CRD, new CVs, ball joints, diff bushings, LCAs, etc. The JBA UCAs got new balljoints. That is an awesome feature of the JBAs, very easy to replace that ball joint.

I've been getting a lot more interior dust in the 4Runner lately and was trying to track down the issue. Turns out it is that same badly designed vent. Got my Four Cam replacements on the way as well as redoing the rear splash guards. Timely! Thanks, Kevin.

It's fantastic when there are vast after market accessories to chose from for your rig. And holy cr@p! That bar packaging is insane. Great work on all the upgrades. Silver looks like a new rig👍 Though it was your 40 Series Troopy that caught my eye. Subscribed.

Those bumpers look awesome! I'm still mixed on adding a full-width steel bumper to my 3rd gen Taco. The chance of a deer (or bigger) hit is likely where I live, but all that extra weight in steel vs aluminum affected the handling. Plus it being an ARB it stuck further out on an already ridiculously extended "nose" they put on the 3rd gens.

Those bumpers are perfection! Especially that rear bumper. I appreciate the craftsmanship of the SSO, but what a monstrosity that thing was. This new one looks way cleaner, and I'm sure it's way lighter as well. One visual mod I would make though, would be a paint the pieces of the front bumper that are directly under the headlights silver, to match the rest of the grill surround. That's just my OCD though. Either that, or paint the rest of the grill surround black.

Kevin. this is a rich amount of information in this video. Would you consider doing a compendium video of the maintenance history of Silver. Of all the relative components
still in use??? A good example is the Icon Dynamics upper control arms squeaking. That comes back within a month of lubrication. I'm now considering to replacing mine in the
near future. I thoroughly enjoyed this video. Cheers, Mate.
