For us traffic is getting a lot heavier. Greer is a small city still but it is growing rapidly.

You decide. Is Greer a safe place to live? We think so.
We have experienced theft, but that is not common.
As with any city, lock your doors and be careful.

Greer is located conveniently between Greenville and Spartanburg so you really have access to shopping in either direction. It is not far from The Shops at Greenridge, Costco, and Sam's. There is also shopping on Wade Hampton Blvd: Target, Hobby Lobby, Lowes, Home Depot, Kohls, Ulta, Ross and many more options.

Our weather is fairly moderate with an occasional ice storm in the winter and an abundance of rain. It can be 70 degrees at Christmas. It does get humid during the summers so we recommend that people visit and see what they think. We are only a short 3-4 hour drive to the beaches and only about an hour from most of our local lakes so there are plenty of opportunities to cool off.

Greer is a great place to live. Mark Hopper does a great job in representing his district to balance growth and residents quality of life (Greer Council District 3). Mayor Danner focus are growth in rezoning residential area for business interests, annex property without infrastructure support, and protecting big business.

So I moved from South Florida to Greer last year, and I don’t regret it. The traffic by far is so much better than South Florida. The traffic in Greenville resembles South Florida, but the traffic in Greer is so much better. However, if you reside in Greer, you will probably find it a necessity to go into Greenville on a pretty regular basis, as the better supermarkets and other amenities are in Greenville. As far as the heat, it pales in comparison to South Florida, so this hasn’t been an issue for myself.
