I was raised in the Carolina’s in the 60s. It was so boring back then I couldn’t wait to leave. Now I’m old and want to go back. Lol. Timing is everything
I heard that and felt the same way. Well, I am moving back! Have a house being built right now and plan to move to the Columbia metro area later this year. Can’t wait!
My personal favorite is Columbia. One of the most affordable areas of the state and the central location gives so many options for things to do on a day off!
Yes, Columbia does have theaters. Town Theatre Trustus Theatre. The University theatre department has a very active theatre season Koger Center for the performing arts
My wife and I built a house in Horry County in 2021. We are about 25 miles from North Myrtle Beach. 4 bedroom/2 bath on a half acre property for around $200,000. We still live and work in North Jersey. We wouldn’t even be able to buy a 35x50 lot in Jersey for that price! 2026 we will officially be South Carolinians.
I was born at the Charleston Navy Base hospital and lived all around the world. My fathers last duty station was Charleston. My parents retired to Summerville. It’s nice but the summer is a killer.
I grew up in Beaufort, born on Lady's island. Work Moved me Charleston, to Sumter, Columbia then back to Beaufort and then up north for several years Baltimore and Harrisburg when I had enough of that I was determined to get back to my home state. Beaufort was my target but missed and I've been living in Greenville now for 10 years, but the salt water is in my veins and it calls to me so I go home to camp, fish, shrimp, gig flounder and swim at Hunting island. That little tiny island on the right just before you go across the bridge to hunting island was where I spent many school vacations at, just a shack but it was paradise, tin roof palmetto trees crabing and shark fishing and water skiing. You left out Lake Joccassee in Greenville, it's a beautiful mountain lake so clear you can see 50 ft down
I was planning on moving to Beaufort to and ended up in Greenville and I was going to live on Lady's Island specifically... Now I've been in Greenville for 7 years and I'm ready for a change
I’ve lived in Spartanburg SC since 2015 and I love it . Much more peaceful then Greenville but only a short drive to Greenville. There are also so many good jobs readily available.
I was born and raised in Charleston, enjoyed the beaches and lived about 6 miles inland on the Svannah Hwy, in an area known as West Ashley. If you like heat, humidity and bugs, then Charleston is for you. After I graduated from college I got a job in Greenville and have been there for the last 42 years. This is the opposite of the low country with the mountains, four seasons, and great weather. We get about 6-8 inches of snow total for the winter, which is not too much, but enough to play in. Also, being closer to the big cities of Charlotte and Atlanta is an advantage Charleston does not have. We have a 16,000 seat arena which host concerts, major sporting events, including minor league hockey and NCAA Women's Basketball Regionals.
My daughter used to live in Summerville, just moved to Dochester. She's been there for years. She was raised in Florida and when she got married she moved to South Carolina. We now live in Ohio. If I lived in SC, I'd rather live in the mountains.
I agree with you. I really like Greenville for all the same reasons you mentioned. I wish my family could have moved there (from Anderson🙄) instead of to Charlotte NC. I cannot live with the humidity or the bugs (they NEVER DIE, even in Charlotte), so now I live in Maine❤. I sometimes miss Greenville, though. What a great town.
I doubt Greenville is any cooler in the summer but you can school me if you want. I'm from Charleston. Heat and humidity are off the charts but at least we have a sea breeze which gives us a lot of relief. I lived in South Central Texas for a year with heat, humidity, and the air dead as a doornail most of the time. That was substantially more uncomfortable. The sea breeze is wonderful and something known about for centuries, especially before air conditioning. While summers are hot and humid, unless you work outside you just go from one air conditioned place to your air conditioned car, to another air conditioned place. So, what does it really matter? Yes, we have bugs and you either need professional pest control or like I do, I use combat on the bases of my doors and base boards about once a quarter. I rarely see any bugs. Also, newer properties seal up better with newer construction methods so its a lot more difficult for the creepy crawlies to get inside. Charleston has enormous charm, beauty and history. I believe four signers of the Declaration of Independence are buried at St Phillips cathedral. Either St. Phillips or St. Michael's, I don't recall. I've spent many years in southern California which has probably the best weather on earth. While I appreciate the blue skies, low humidity and very mild temps in California they come with a price such as 35 million people, an insane state government, high taxes, drugs, and crime...I think Charleston beats California hands down...
I live in Greenville! I highly suggest it but there are too many people that move here and its becoming a bigger city. People need to stop moving here!
It won't. One of my best friends was from New Jersey. The property tax up there is probably five to six times more than for a similar property in Charleston. Blue states are tax and spend nut houses where government have fallen in love with criminals, drug addicts and enable the homeless. They are destroying their states.

A recently released report by US News and World Report listed Myrtle Beach as the fastest growing area in the US. The Spartanburg and Greenville metro areas were listed in the top 25 fastest growing.
Moving to Charleston in September I can't freaking wait. Folly is one of my favorite places on earth and you can't beat Carmella desserts downtown 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰

We lived in Taylor’s for 8 years back in the early 70’s. We loved Greenville. My wife is a native Tennessean. We eventually relocated back to Tennessee, and that’s been our home since 1977. We still vacation in South Caroline. Charleston being our favorite city for vacations. South Carolina is our second favorite State. Tennessee is home and our #1 favorite State to live in.
Thank u for sharing your Beautiful Video.! I truely enjoyed all the diffrents place's to live..I would love❤ to.move here. But i would miss my family, and all my close friends. But i still love❤ the South!!
My sister and BIL live in Beaufort. It’s lovely actually they live on Dataw Island. I love going to visit the community they live in has it not only a heated pool but one that’s like cooled in summer. They’re from Chicago so they totally love it if they still want to get out of there in July and August but in the winter it’s fabulous it’s been a lot of times Stack either valuables on top of the dining room table before they go to stay with my brother in Cary North Carolina. My brother was from Orange County California so they were very happy to move until my sister and her dog and her husband come and stay regularly for the hurricane season. How are you I will be moved to is that they don’t allow fences and most of the island is a golf course so they have tiny little yards and everybody has to walk their dog which I would think would be a pain and you can’t just looking out to run around because there’s gators out there. I’ve been tempted to go in the summer because they’re right next to a stop on the golf course ice and water and the ice is exactly like sonic ice I think that may be happier than anything else I should drive the golf cart to that little spot to get big cups of ice for my day. Doesn’t take much but they don’t have a sonic so if you’re addicted to good ice you got to find good ice!
I’m not sure if I’m insulted or relieved you didn’t mention Spartanburg, or any of the lakes in our area. We’re currently experiencing a building boom due to BMW. What was once farmland is now housing tracts. Nothing supports the influx of people, not the roads, schools, water, or even trash disposal.
I mostly this you getting it right I guarantee you that you definitely getting it right that's coming home like I'm going to watch this video you doing a good job my man
Best thing to do is whatevere area you think you might like find a AirBmB or hotel and stay in that area a couple weeks to get a feel for it. Then you will know if ok. When I first came south in 1996 I thought about Spartanburg but now hate that area. Ended up in Fayetteville NC where I am still close to. High property taxes in SC keep me where I am,
It’s crazy how many people I know that live near the beach but only go to the ocean like once a year. You should be required to go to the beach three times a week if you want to take up space near the ocean lol. For real tho
We lived in SW Florida for 25 yrs. about 6 miles from the beach. Rarely ever went. Way to hot in the summer, and way to crowded with tourists in the winter. I won't go in the water. Sharks. Jellyfish that sting your feet if you step on one. I don't like salt water. We moved back up north about 15 yrs ago. Just not a beach person or hot weather person.
Alligators all over lower South Carolina, everywhere. I HATE alligators. 1.5 years ago my husband and I moved 30 minutes south of Greenville. We love it. Friendly people. Conservative mind set overall. Which is the main reason we moved frim LIBERAL Washington state. Glad to know not everyone in our country has lost their mind. Thankful for places like South Carolina!!
I currently live in NW Washington state. My daughter and her little family settled in Spartanburg County. I plan to move to that area within the next few months to be close to them. ❤
10:02 - that's exit 102 off of I-95. Lived in that area for about 20 years now. Fishing is FANTASTIC! Hugo knocked out power for about 3 weeks when it came thru tho.
Too crowded. Charleston, Dorchester & Berkeley counties need to work on a mass public transit system to help eliminate traffic. It's horrible and no space to build road's. They need buses running to each county with stop's and parking area's. The same with a train.
Forgot to mention the crazy amount of traffic around Charleston. I love the area and have stayed in Moncks Corner and Johns Island. Altlthough I am more familiar with the Pee Dee region.
I’ve lived in Myrtle Beach and in downtown Charleston each for years and I never once evacuated, but I would’ve evacuated if a strong enough hurricane were coming and it appeared we were going to be directly hit.
They never do. They act like locusts. Destroying areas, moving, then repeating the process... BlackRock and illegal immigration are just as big in terms of problems though.
Should’ve move out here years ago when it was still affordable! I feel like everyone from up north followed me down here. Wish I can go to another State..
Live in the midlands; North Augusta. Was born and raised in Georgia and moved across the river as soon as the opportunity came along. Away from the hurricanes and if I want to go to the beach I go to Key West or maybe Tybee island for a short trip.
Howdy neighbor as well. I was born in CT but have been living in Aiken County since 1993 and in North Augusta for the past 10 years and a local college instructor for the past 14 years.
Grew up in Spartanburg but live in Seattle. Would be a lot cheaper to go back to SC but I have never wanted to go back. Matter of fact could not wait to get out. Now I cannot handle the summers east of the Rockies. The only good thing about Spartanburg is it is about 60 miles from Asheville, NC, a really nice city and Beautiful. Greenville is nice, 100% better than Spartanburg for any reason you can think of. When I spent some time down there around 2004 when my mom passed away I preferred going to Greenville than Charlotte even though Charlotte is a much larger city. I'm surprised the list did not include Georgetown and Beaufort. Lot of history in Georgetown , some very nice looking old neighborhoods and it is on the coast. Beaufort is a gorgeous place on the river near the ocean, not far from Savannah, GA.(Go there!) Beaufort has many Beaufort mansions that were built prior to the Civil War. Beaufort was not destroyed during the war. If you like streets covered with big oak trees with Spanish Moss hanging down, this area is wonderful. If you have read some Pat Conroy then you have an idea what this area is like. Highly recommend the Prince of Tides.
So, imagine my surprise when I noticed the location Travel & Leisure and Southern Living have named the best small town in America was absent from your list.. That's right...Beaufort. My second home and "happy place" .
Nice job but I think you way overemphasized the Hurricane threat. The last major Hurricane was Hugo in 1989 which did enormous damage. Most of what we have had since then are near misses. The storms usually track up the Gulf stream about a hundred miles offshore. Some of the minor storms that actually hit Charleston area where I live include Matthew in 2015 I think. We didn't even lose power in Mt Pleasant. I'm on James Island now and I lost power during Dorian for about a day. If you are concerned with flooding just don't buy in a flood zone. Simple enough. Flood zones are distinguished by risk, obviously. In Mt Pleasant I was in a flood zone but the house had never flooded even in Hugo. However, downtown Charleston got many feet of water from Hugo. Many downtown restaurants kept a water mark on the interior walls for years after. Some probably still do. In summary, I think the media and government have turned hurricanes into the boogeyman which is far less of a factor than most realize. Most people here don't evacuate unless a large hurricane is imminent. Something like a Cat 4.
Last time i was in Charleston visiting my daughter who lives there..was an episode that was on the local news...apparently a giant mosquito had landed at the airport there an they went on the tarmac an was trying to fill it up with jet fuel before they realized what it actually was...it was that large an showed up on radar as bein a small jet....this is a true story....
I grew up in Spartanburg, SC not far from Greenville, about 3.5 hrs to Charleston. Dirty Myrtle, it used to be a great place. A lot of these places are really nice, just not this one. I've lived here for the better part of my life and I was born in 1963, you do the math, all but 10 years. I moved to Washington state and would come home 3 times a year and most of the time would always visit Charleston.
What we have in Piedmont which is a small town in Greenville county is all our country side is disappearing, we'll overcrowded already, horrible crumbling roads , trash everywhere. My wife & I at one time enjoyed it here but now the sights & sounds are garbage, gunshots, & sirens everyday.
Some things I hear repeated to newcomers to SC: Please do not come here and vote for higher taxes. If your county doesn't have animal control - don't complain. If someone on school board wants a new shrine to education (when the old one will do just fine) tell them NO! Don't vote for D's in some failing state then move here and continue to vote D.
Not for nothing, the most hurtful thing to encounter is don't come here, we're full. Hurricane Ian hit me head on. I'm not rebuilding on the island. I hear the don't come here a lot. It could happen to you. Be nice.
For all yall fleeing blue states and looking at Columbia, I recommend its neighbor Lexington, Its Columbias Red brother and its alot more underregulated. The local offices are full of conservative/Populists so you can feel safe with religion and traditionalism. Not many blue hairs going full karen 24/7. Lexington county is trying hard to keep its based identity. PLUS, It has Lake Murray and for a smaller city, It has alot going on. Only downside is its got alot of traffic around the lake. But if you can find a spot a bit further from the lake on the south/rural side of Lexington you should have no issue getting around.
That's because everybody and his brother wants to move to Summerville. At the rate we're going there won't be a tree left on this end of Berkeley and Dorchester counties. We need a moratorium on building really bad!
Yep. My daughter sold her home in Summerville and bought one in Dorchester. She'd like to move to Ohio where we live. But her hubby has a job down there and has lived there all his life. So, for now she's kind of stuck.
@@sharoncrawford7192 Kind of funny you mention that. We picked up a new(old) guy at work a few months ago from Ohio that followed his son down here. He's from Eastern Ohio out in the country and made the mistake of renting an apartment in West Ashley and he absolutely hates it here. I asked him what homes were selling for in his part of Ohio and he said "around $150K" I laughed and told him that there is absolutely nothing left around here even in the worst possible neighborhoods for less than $250-300K. I think he's headed back to Ohio when his lease is up.
I am hoping to retire in about 2 years. Where would you recommend retiring to that has a retirement community with condos or townhouses about 30 minutes or so from the beach. No flooding or threats of a hurricane evacuation?
York County is not in the Midlands. It is in the Upstate, as up as you can get & in the Piedmont, not the Sandhills. I live in the Lake Wylie area, Upstate!
Does anyone know of very small towns located in South Carolina? Im looking for a population of 2-3k. I love very small towns and not big populated cities. Im coming from a very liberal state and am looking to escape🙁 I prefer being close to the beach but love the country and miss the small town feel I once had.
I lived in Columbia, what a pit! I would go to Charleston all the time especially in July and August. I love love love the heat and humidity. It makes me feel so alive! Just so many places to visit and relive out countries history. Now I live in Tucson.....boring Tucson, and it's hot also.
i have lived in some of the southern states and SC has been the best so far, even with all those things. no one down here drives well and they all have low paying jobs.
@@batsonelectronics My daughter is a Paralegal. They make about 30,000 a year. She could move to say Columbus, Ohio, and starting salary would be 50,000 a year. My 21 yr old granddaughter just graduated college in SC. She just got a job as a 911 operator for 40,000 a year. She will probably go back to college at some point. She has 2 more yrs to get a masters degree. Wants to be a Coroner. But she's getting work experience for now.
I would talk to an insurance agent about that. There are certain areas here where insurance isn't bad, depending on the flood zone that it's in, and the elevation of the bottom level
Do you have crocodiles, poisonous spiders and dangerous wild life there as well? I heard Malaria was once a big thing in the lowlands? kind regards from Europe
Alligators, not crocodiles. There are some poisonous snakes and spiders, but I haven't seen any. I have seen one big snake at Colonial Dorchester historic site, in what is left of the brick structure there. I do see a lot of alligators.
I live in South Carolina parade wow in fact I was born but that don't mean I know everything either I'm going to be making some comments as you go along cuz they are different areas of South Carolina that you do want to live in and you don't want to live in and I've been in PD and upstate of South Carolina I ain't been to Paris mountain once and I was born here
It depends on which home you purchase, which flood zone, etc….it’s usually not bad for a newer home. Give me a call if you’d like to discuss it further. 843-769-1836. Thanks
Hi Mark, Looking to move to a beach town in SC. Single family home 3 bd 2 bh. $275-325k max. No DR Horton or Lennar, or any other corporate developers. North Myrtle beach or below Myrtle Beach, no grand strand. Not for me.
Have lived in the PeeDee region for close to 20 years. Horton builds almost all the houses in MB area. If you don't like traffic its not the place to move. Almost all neighborhoods in the MB area have HOA's. They are a plague. Housing prices start on the low end at 1/4 mil. That is for a cheaply built home on a postage stamp size lot. My suggestion is to come during the middle of summer and tourist season and rent for at least 3 months. Look around with a critical eye. Didn't take me long to figure out that all roads (essentially) lead to 501. Infrastructure is sorely lacking.
Thank you for omitting one of the best places called Spartanburg, SC. A thriving and charming as well growing city and the largest county in the upstate. With Wofford and Converse Colleges in town and USC Upstate right outside. The Blue Ridge mountains nearby and several lakes the likes of Bowen, Cooley, Lyman and nestled in the reach of the mountains is Lake Lanier near the Town of Landrum. The Hub City, Spartanburg's nickname is aptly put. The major highways as the railways giving it commerce a central home . Great restaurants and the home of The Marshall Tucker Band, the home of the bluesman Pink Anderson, as many other luminaries.
@@MarkGarrison-REALTOR I know you I was being a little snarky and apologize. Being as I am native of Spartanburg. There is a bit of a rivalry between The two. And it always it seems they want to either diss my hometown or lump them as a suburb of Greenville which a sticking point.
Spartanburg actually has 7 colleges as well as the SC School for the Deaf and Blind. The Spartanburg musician, Pink Anderson , was the inspiration was the Pink in Pink Floyd. Spartanburg also is where the song Amazing Grace was set to music and the first college football game in SC was played and is the birthplace of the Carolina Panthers. Spartanburg had the first airport, radio station, air mail service and community foundation fund in the state. It has the oldest baseball stadium in the state. The website for the Spartanburg Revolutionary War Trail lists 12 sites in the Spartanburg area that are connected to the Revolutionary War.

I am a Charleston native born and raised here
Great review, photography, and narration. You have a very nice voice which adds much to the review.
Thank you! I'm glad you liked it!
Well, go ahead and be insulted. You'll pepper up soon.
Nice job covering our state ! ❤️
I mostly this you getting it right I guarantee you that you definitely getting it right that's coming home like I'm going to watch this video you doing a good job my man
Thanks!
Live near it long enough you don’t care about it.
😂
@@frankf684 not true at all. Maybe if your lame. I’ve lived near it my whole life, and I care about it more and more every day. I go almost every day.
Some people were just born here 😭 I hate the beach, I didn't choose to be born here but yk- here I am
Just moved to Lexington - love it!
Lol I am in the same boat except I havent moved yet! I will be making the move in Feb 2025. I cant wait to escape the crazies!
Can’t stand liberal politics. Moronic mindset
Shall we all move
I currently live in NW Washington state. My daughter and her little family settled in Spartanburg County. I plan to move to that area within the next few months to be close to them. ❤
What kind two legged?
Y’all be careful out there.
10:02 - that's exit 102 off of I-95. Lived in that area for about 20 years now. Fishing is FANTASTIC! Hugo knocked out power for about 3 weeks when it came thru tho.
Eventually I would like to get a property up there, and a pontoon boat so I can go do some fishing
Too crowded. Charleston, Dorchester & Berkeley counties need to work on a mass public transit system to help eliminate traffic. It's horrible and no space to build road's. They need buses running to each county with stop's and parking area's. The same with a train.
This was excellent!
Great video. But you did leave out Charleston Southern University, which is an excellent college.
Upstate is full !!
Yes!!
And housing prices are out of control! I’ve lived here since’96 and can’t believe the last few years!
Lol I made the same comment earlier
The whole state is full
You Did not mention AIKEN SC. Amazing place you should add it to your list
Have a place in Murrells Inlet 15 miles south of Myrtle. Seafood capital of the state.
Were you there for Bertha and Fran?
@@captainjocassee Bertha and Fran hit around Wilmington,NC.I was living in Wilmington when they hit, didn’t evacuate for either one.

There's a lot of history there. Don't just look at it. Read the history of it. It's AWSOME !!
I love all of the historic sites in this area; It's my favorite thing about living here!
Great video! Very informative.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Should’ve move out here years ago when it was still affordable! I feel like everyone from up north followed me down here. Wish I can go to another State..
Live in the midlands; North Augusta. Was born and raised in Georgia and moved across the river as soon as the opportunity came along. Away from the hurricanes and if I want to go to the beach I go to Key West or maybe Tybee island for a short trip.
howdy neighbor, i live probably 30 minutes from you. been here since 89.
Hey Kevin, I am planning on including Beaufort and Bluffton in my next video, about the beach towns and coastal cities in South Carolina.
@@MarkGarrison-REALTOR Great to hear. I'm headed down on Sunday. Hope you enjoy.
No he did not exaggerate! I'm moving there and they just had hurricane Debby
Lexington is awesome! Traffic is getting bad however. Oh well.
Both Carolinas are beautiful. We’ve been to Myrtle Beach lots of times. Fun and great golf.
Great information ..
Glad it was helpful!
Charleston does have good restaurants.
There is ONE antebellum house in Columbia…the Pickricorn House, and Trinity Cathedral
Charleston: We full!
Would like to see a video about Little river, SC
I moved to Washington state and would come home 3 times a year and most of the time would always visit Charleston.
within South Carolina, which is better to live in ? Charleston ? Myrtle Beach ? Columbia ? or Greenville ?
I loved your video ❤
Thank you!
Currently a South Carolina resident and life is good
My daughter lives close to Charleston. I would prefer upstate. Like the mountains.
What we have in Piedmont which is a small town in Greenville county is all our country side is disappearing, we'll overcrowded already, horrible crumbling roads , trash everywhere. My wife & I at one time enjoyed it here but now the sights & sounds are garbage, gunshots, & sirens everyday.
you did not mention Hilton Head, or Bluffton, or go into details about Beaufort and Port Royal
Great video. I’m outta Dodge and headed there soon.
Thank you! Welcome to the area
I wanna live somewhere where we can easily reastablish our 11 year old dog walking service for high end clients what we have in california...

Coastal regions around Charleston!
Mt Pleasant. But if you vote Democrat you should not come to South Carolina and poison it.
I live in Summerville and the house prices are absurd here.
That's because everybody and his brother wants to move to Summerville. At the rate we're going there won't be a tree left on this end of Berkeley and Dorchester counties. We need a moratorium on building really bad!
@@BamaTidefan1967 it’s the same up in the Georgetown and horry county area as well:
I have heard Summerville is changing.
Im from Florence SC and now live in Charleston. I don't think its all that hot for me. BTW if you want the heat move to Texas LOL

I am hoping to retire in about 2 years. Where would you recommend retiring to that has a retirement community with condos or townhouses about 30 minutes or so from the beach. No flooding or threats of a hurricane evacuation?
Hello, please call/text/email me; I will be happy to discuss it with you further! 843-769-1836
Is the ocean actually brown there or is it just looking that way on my iPad?
York County is not in the Midlands. It is in the Upstate, as up as you can get & in the Piedmont, not the Sandhills. I live in the Lake Wylie area, Upstate!
I goto both lakes and wakeboard and would rather goto Hartwell than keowee cause everyone and there mom goes to keowee…..
Move to North Myrtle and above -or Surfside and below. NOT Myrtle. Do NOT move to Myrtle city limits.
How about Florence sc ?
Florence isn’t a very good place to live sadly:(
Charleston is the best
Does anyone know of very small towns located in South Carolina? Im looking for a population of 2-3k. I love very small towns and not big populated cities. Im coming from a very liberal state and am looking to escape🙁 I prefer being close to the beach but love the country and miss the small town feel I once had.
Maybe Ravenel, SC. Beaufort is a nice somewhat small town, but larger than 2-3k people.
No Fort Mill..
You forgot to mention late Greenwood! 😟
Heat ,bugs, low pay , bad drivers, traffic, and crazy people
It's a lovely place to live
I lived in Columbia, what a pit! I would go to Charleston all the time especially in July and August. I love love love the heat and humidity. It makes me feel so alive! Just so many places to visit and relive out countries history. Now I live in Tucson.....boring Tucson, and it's hot also.
i have lived in some of the southern states and SC has been the best so far, even with all those things. no one down here drives well and they all have low paying jobs.
Sounds just like Florida, where we used to live. I've been to Charleston area. My daughter has lived there many years, only because she's had to.
@@batsonelectronics My daughter is a Paralegal. They make about 30,000 a year. She could move to say Columbus, Ohio, and starting salary would be 50,000 a year. She has 2 more yrs to get a masters degree. Wants to be a Coroner. But she's getting work experience for now.
How far north do you have to go to get better homeowners insurance from storms, and flooding?
I would talk to an insurance agent about that. There are certain areas here where insurance isn't bad, depending on the flood zone that it's in, and the elevation of the bottom level
Do you have crocodiles, poisonous spiders and dangerous wild life there as well? I heard Malaria was once a big thing in the lowlands? kind regards from Europe
Alligators, not crocodiles. There are some poisonous snakes and spiders, but I haven't seen any. I have seen one big snake at Colonial Dorchester historic site, in what is left of the brick structure there. I do see a lot of alligators.
We have them all!
I live in South Carolina parade wow in fact I was born but that don't mean I know everything either I'm going to be making some comments as you go along cuz they are different areas of South Carolina that you do want to live in and you don't want to live in and I've been in PD and upstate of South Carolina I ain't been to Paris mountain once and I was born here
Love Greenville. Myrtle beach not so much
Are the homeowners insurance high due to the low area and weather?
It depends on which home you purchase, which flood zone, etc….it’s usually not bad for a newer home. Give me a call if you’d like to discuss it further. 843-769-1836. Thanks

You left Florence South Carolina off your list. It's growing like crazy.
Sort of. The whole Pee Dee area is slower growing than the rest (thank God).

where do Texans move to in SC?
Hi Mark, Looking to move to a beach town in SC. Single family home 3 bd 2 bh. $275-325k max. No DR Horton or Lennar, or any other corporate developers. North Myrtle beach or below Myrtle Beach, no grand strand. Not for me.
Hey Vanessa, can you send me an email so that I have your contact info? markgarrisonrealestate@gmail.com Thank you
Have lived in the PeeDee region for close to 20 years.
You're welcome. I consider Spartanburg to be in the Greenville area, and one of my video clips during the Greenville section is of Spartanburg
