In a series that lays out the neighborhoods of New York City, this video covers Midtown Manhattan. Whether you live in NYC or visiting, you will most likely find yourself in the clutches of Midtown Manhattan at one point or another. It makes sense. It has central hubs for both local city and out-of-state transportations, live entertainment from Broadway to comedy clubs, Michelin dining to hole-in-the-wall joints, contemporary art, classical architecture, etcetera.
Midtown Manhattan is massive. It’s dense. And it’s smack right in the middle of the city.
We are going to cover it at a 10,000-foot view in rapid fire. This is not a video that you watch at 2X speed. Feel free to pause and rewind and know that each area that we are going to cover is a subject of a potential future video in and of itself.
If you are moving to NYC or visiting, this is a great video to watch.

What I love most about living in Queens near a subway station is that Midtown is only 20 minutes away on the E and F Trains.
It's funny how being in a "central" or "prime" location in NYC is based on the available subway stops.
These Vlogs are a fantastic introduction to New York City.
Again, your knowledge, narration, personality, and skill are wonderful. Thank you for all of your videos, Thea.
This is so helpful for our upcoming trip! Thank you.
"This is not a video to watch at 2x speed."
Me: Watching at 2.5x speed (thanks to a Chrome extension) 😂😂
I just came back from NYC (10 days vacation there). I wish I had seen your videos beforehand. I’m going through your videos and it’s very well written hitting all the important highlights. So much detail in a somewhat short video
Same here
Same here...wish I had seen her videos before my trip
Superb !!! So informative 🙏
I used your video to prep my stay in Chelsea last weekend. Fantastic, and and thank you !!! You're a natural-
much better much more educational than the audio guides we've been listening toon the hop on hop off busses 😂 thank you!
Thank you! 🙌 I tried two different tour buses now. One was alright, but the other had really scratchy and hard to hear audio. But it was still a good way to get around. Glad I could help!
One of them even kept getting me electrically shocked 🤣 way to keep us alert!
I have watched 3 videos & all i want to say is thank you.
Thank you for watching the series! My next project is a transportation series.
@@UrbanCaffeine Please :)
Very nice descriptive video of the layout of midtown manhattan! Thanks for sharing beautiful lady😘😘😘xox
This is the most comprehensive video I have ever watched about Midtown!
I watched at 2x! It was pretty intense!
She said noa do dat , I did .025 for more Thea ...
Just got back from Manhattan, I wachted your videos before I left for the transportation tips and some after to review the areas I had been!, Luv the content!
thank you! consider making the final map at the end downloadable for others! in the meantime i used my phone to screenshot
One of the most relevant preperation guides to me that i have seen til now! Thank you :)
Another excellent video! Thank you!
I love your series
Midtown rocks.
Yes it does 😊
Of course I have never known but have wondered and that is interesting thanx
Outstanding.
This is one of the best NYC Vlogs i've come across, and i've seen a lot!
Wow, thank! Glad you liked it.
I’ve been patiently waiting for a new video! Thank you!
Thank you for waiting! 😁
Your videos are always so informative and organized. Thanks again.
Your explanation is so clear and very easy to understand. Thank you
Thanks for watching!
Another great vid thanks
Love the video. I can't wait to see what phase 2 of the Hudson Yards project will bring.
I was wondering about that. Hudson Yards is having problems with the Vessel because of suicides. I'm curious how they are going to fix that as well.
Greta videos. I am looking to purchase a home in NYC. But want to get a feel as to where I want to buy. Was looking for homes around Central Park. I probably will go and stay for a month or so just to get a feel as to the area but would love to have a professional guide to show me around. Do you have any recommendations for guides? Also once I do purchase, where do individuals purchase furniture and the things needed to furnish a home. Would like to purchase all new furnishing and art. Great videos once again.
thank you for an amazing video and information!
I'm loving these videos. Such an interesting place and I found it a challenge getting my bearings last time I was there. Will be useful for my next visit..
Is this final map available anywhere for view/download? Getting ready for my first NYC trip and am loving all of your videos explaining the bureaus, districts, and subways. Really good stuff!!!
You did a great job explaining the city, thank you!
Really enjoyed your videos. Looking forward to more! Keep them coming!
Thank you for this video. I could never get my bearings. Now I understand better.
You're welcome! Thanks for watching 😊
Thanks to @Urban Caffeine I realized NYC is more walkable than I had thought !!
love it👍👍👍 and easy to understand
love your series. can't wait for other videos of different parts of NYC
Thank you for watching! Really glad you like these videos.
always love your videos!
very enjoyable. you're doing great. let's see more please!
So happy you're enjoying these. I'm currently working through Brooklyn. Don't really know how long it will take, but we'll get there!
Brilliant...thank you!
Your videos are perfect! Thanks for making these!
Thank you! I'm glad you like them. I'm working on getting Upper Manhattan done so the Manhattan series can be complete. 🤞
really appreciate making this video. I need it like this information cuz I came here newyork a few weeks ago. Contents are very interesting and informative.
I'm glad this was useful! Thanks for watching. ☺️
8:26 This is actually the Met Life Tower (Metropolitan Life Insurance Company Tower) not to be confused with the Met Life Building attached to Grand Central Terminal. The New York Life (Insurance Company) Building is at 51 Madison Ave, and was the site of the earlier Madison Square Garden arenas (immediately northeast of Madison Square Park).
Soooo informative, thank you!
Thanks for watching! Glad it was helpful.
great video
Thanks!
Just subbed, I’m researching and hopefully will be able to bring my favourite wife and family over, Covid permitting 😳🙄. Considering that there is plenty of content on NYC, your channel is extremely well done and presented. Good luck from this side of the pond here in England (Brexitland 🇪🇺😅), thank you so much 🤗👍🏻😉
Thank you for subscribing! I saw somewhere that although over 3 million moved out of NYC, another 3 million and some moved in. So you are not alone. 😉 I wish you all the best on your move!
And this vedios is fantastic
Great video. But you put Gramercy park where Stuyvesant Square is. Gramercy is a few blocks away, between E 20th and 21st, dividing Lex from Irving place
I’ll dispute Shake Shack as the East Coast In-N-Out. Really good outside of that.
And I understand your series vedios
beautiful lady
No way does any source say that Turtle Bay extends to Fifth Avenue. It’s debated whether the western boundary is Third Avenue or Lexington Avenue, but NEVER is Fifth Avenue discussed as being one of its borders.
Midtown layout seems to be a lot more confusing than Downtown, haha.
10:36 "Bohemian VIVE?"
Well done. Maybe one of the best districts in Manhattan. I'd love to live in the Flatiron 💞. If a millionaire is reading this, please regáleme un piso ahí!! 😀😂😂😂✌
When you talked about Union Square Park you didn't mention The Krishna's.
👍👍👍
I've lived in NYC for years since the mid-1990s and I've never realized that Union Square is considered the Southern tip of Mid-Town Manhattan. I think most New Yorkers probably assume that Mid-Town starts around 30th Street...lol
😉
How do you doooooo
Right , she haunts me too...
i do have one question i have not found an answer for... why are all manholes in nyc smoking? 😅 weirdly enough that's the first thing i noticed, but no one has been able to answer my question
Hmm... I found this article. It looks like it's condensation from cold water (usually rain) that hits hot pipes underground. freetoursbyfoot.com/steam-from-streets-in-new-york
@@UrbanCaffeine finally, thank you! Yes, it makes perfect sense :)
(with map)
Uhhh midtown Manhattan is way higher then union square. Chelsea isn't "midtown" IMHO
Then what is it? I just stayed at 8th and 30th. What would you call it?
Your boundaries of Midtown Manhattan are way off. From East to West 2nd Ave to 8th Ave, North to South 59th Street to 32nd Street. From that point down to 14th Street is Chelsea on the West side and Kips Bay and Flatiron on the East side. Below 14th Street begins Greenwich Village both West Village and East Village. Then you begin to get into Lower Manhattan with Soho etc. The 20's to 14th Street is not Midtown Manhattan. Where is this chick from originally ? Kuz you must be some transplant.
Shove in your clutch pal ... She's a New Yorker and she is correct ....
