Thanks for keepin' on keepin' on....reminds me of hiking in the Pac NW...wet, wet, wet. That's why I love the Rockies and, especially, the Sierras and canyon lands of the great Southwest.
I’m someone who works the 9-5 job everyday ! I really enjoy your videos ! I hope to someday go out there and do what you are doing! So a big Thank You for motivating all of us !!!!!
Great to see you back on trail Darwin we are the same age so I definitely understand the aches and pains of getting back on trail the body is not quite like it used to be at 25 but still able to do just about everything I could do then anyways have a blessed hike Darwin can’t wait to see what lays in store down the road
The BMT is an ass kicker for sure. I only did Springer to the Pinhoti Terminus and jumped on it headed SOBO. Those miles on the BMT were awesome...but hard as hell. 🤘🕓
Backpacking 10 miles in Cave Creek, AZ, just about killed me last weekend! Maybe someday I’ll be able to get hike like that. Thanks for the motivation 😁
Your trip sounds lovely. I love the sunsets in AZ and NM both. Have you been hiking in Sedona? Someone should vlog climbing Bell Rock. That would be epic. Keep on hiking 💚👣🐞🍀🌎🏜🧭⛺🔥🌛🌞🧦🥾🎒🦯🦯🧻📴🆓️🇺🇲.
Welcome to Tennessee....again. The trails you travel seem to keep bringing back through our little part of the world. You could almost be considered a resident neighbor at this point...lol. Keep up the good work and stay safe out there.
Thank you for your videos, they give me motivation to keep going. I’m 53 I have painful Achilles heels, tight back and hips, knees etc but I am determined to push forward. You inspire ❤️
My personal take on this trip is that I feel it's Darwin's best. It feels more honest, real and connection ! I've also enjoyed the music 🎵 🙂 I hope he'll be back soon !!!! I'd like to see this one finished with the same format 😀👍🏽
I’m 59 this year. At the end of the month going on a 4 day 60km hike. I’m going to regret it the minute I step on the trail and do the first 20km section but I will love every minute of it no matter what the aches and pains are like. Just do it.
I'm going to be 69 this July. I still love backpacking. I'm hoping to finish the AT this year. I only have 1500 still to do. My sons, family and friends have hiked many times in the dead of Winter -10 during the day and down as low as -20. I rather be on a trail than on the recliner. Right now I have an Achilles tendon that I have to finally rest so I can get at it again Hike on brother.
Ga. native here. I'm going out this weekend with some friends to do the Coosa Backcountry Trail. Not a long hike, but has some brutal climbs. What doesn't in Ga. though??? :)
Love my soggy south. Lived in some dry places and my skin peeled like an onion. Secret to getting older.....BC Powder 1000 mg with caffeine. Happy trails.
Hey, man! Just saw you started this trip! We've had a weird cold snap for the past few days, but I think that's behind us! You've got a wonderful trip with beautiful weather ahead of you. Happy trails!
Always nice to see your videos Possible solution hence the word possible Try using one additional dyneema tarp to go over your tent to help with the condensation it's a long shot but it might work two layers is usually better than one
A double wall tent is a nessecitiy down here. A hammock is also a solid option in these hills. Flat ground is a luxury most times, but the trees are plentiful, lol.
Good ole Tennessee. In my backyard now. If wasn't working and knew exactly where ya was coming tru at. Would have trailed angel cpl cold ones and some pizza for ya. Thanks for sharing, keep on moving. 👍✌
Darwin, I enjoy your videos a lot. I'm only a weekend worrier (though I hope to do longer section hikes when life is less busy and my kids are older). None the less your videos are informative and pleasant to watch. Your skills as a video producer? show. I wanted to ask what the music was in this video. I really liked it. Not sure how to use the Musicbed ID to figure it out (if that's even possible). Cheers!
My hips are a main spot for pain too. Love your adventure videos and edits! I probably understand your rationale for short video length but I'd vote for longer!
Hey Darwin! I hope your recovery is going well. I was wondering what was your resupply strategy during this trail? I am planning to thru hike the BMT in May and wanted to get your advice on it! Thank you!
Google is our friend. Boxes or grocery stores. Those are the only strategies for resupply man. I 'm not trying to be mean but that's a very obvious question to ask.
Nice vid and great trail! I saw your vid about getting off the trail due to injuries. As you are getting older, have you considered switching from the Timp to the Olympus or Hoka Speedgoat or Stinson? I have all three and the Timp just doesn’t cut it for my back and knee issues but I am in my late 50’s. You will be back on the trail soon.
Regarding the sign with Tennessee ripped off it, there is an actual border dispute between TN and GA regarding the precise border around there. Goes back to colonial era maps, definition of a divide between two rivers or some such. Doubt it caused your sign damage though.
Glute min and med are connected to the hips, put your massage ball on the glute min and med (they are on top of one another) put your hands on your hips and put the massage ball just below the ilium bone and push against a tree....not too hard you will feel it, couple deep breaths....hope this helps
@@DarwinOnthetrail thanks for the fast response. The shirt seams really comfy, but hard to get hold of in swe. The Arcteryx Remige looks quite similar. Do you have any experience with it?

I feel like might need to listen to the 1st Episode of my Podcast I launched yesterday. it’s called “The Outdoor Evolution Podcast” & the episode is entitled “You Don’t Know Me”
Thank you Darwin. I love your trip vlogs. It's like going on a mini vacation without leaving the house at all 🤙. Those were some big miles there for any day, but especially day 3. Impressive Darwin.
Just be glad you didn’t grow up hiking in Florida man. 100 percent humidity in the summer 95 degrees. It’s hard just to keep your eyes closed. Then there’s the skeeters! Just don’t wipe with Spanish moss haha

Your honesty and positive mindset during your hike is as beautiful as the nature that surrounds you Darwin. ❤
I've worked on trails all over the Cherokee national Forest, I hope you got to walk on some of my work, hike on Darwin
