Extremely useful at teh beginning of battle to figure out what formations to use and how to approach the battle. ALSO will highlight dropped weapons and shields in case your shield breaks in a melee. Think about what terrain you're engaging enemies in. In wars, listen to your army leader. If they say to charge the left infantry do it. I've found that you tend to win more battles following the AI's instructions than going on your own. Amazing video so far I just started today I have been doing Arenas since I got the game and a few battles here and there it’s slow progress but worth it
that is really a beginners guide :) here is my advanced beginners guide: 1. start a new game!!! 2.make a character, no matter what yo do, dont put ANY point in to vigor or control, you are forced to put 1 point into one of the weapons sadly, but other then that, NOTHING into weapons or vigor/control. simply because EVERY other focus and attribute tree is MUCH better in long terms. the 7/5 rule lets you max out a skill at 275!!!! a MUST have 275 at the end is steward, medic, charm, leader, tactic!!!!! 3. when your game starts, skip the tutorial and just run DIRECTLY towards bettania and get yourself 15+ battanian youth archers. 4. fight some looters and dont fight yourself, give the exp to you archers. 5. as soon as you have around 7 or 8 battanian heros, go an do only hideouts. they give very good loot at the beginning of the game. 6. while you are looking for hideouts, also check out tournaments. and depending on the price, win them. especialy noble mounts can give good money at the beginning!!! a tyal horse can sell for 15k early game. 7. after a few hideouts, you will reach clan level 1, get yourself a wive ASAP and join a kingdom as vassal. (NEVER capture a lord, ALWAYS let them free after the fight, that will give you charm 275 in no time and will also build relationship very quickly) 8. look for a companion you can use as a scout, with the possibilty of getting 10 attributes in cunning and 5 focus points in scout (maxing it to the fullest) 9. look for a companion that can max out on smithing (10 attributes on endurance and 5 focus in smithing) 8 & 9 EXTRA. if you plan on a really long game, get yourself a low level wife that has points in endurance and cunning.) it takes a while, but you can make her into your maxed out scout AND smith!!!!!!!!!!! with that you open the space for 2 more companions because you dont need a smith and scout companion. 10. you are ready to rule the world!!!!
1) I like starting off with 15-20 Aserai Footmen. Because they have a mace, which means more prisoners. Crossbows and maces knock-out opponents instead of killing. 2) I first look for a wife/husband to start pumping out kids. They'll also be a skilled companion with great gear. 3) For companions, I first look for a Spicevendor to form a caravan and use most of my companions for caravans. 4)When I have all the caravans and workshop I can. I fill up on troops and wait for a Rebellious town to siege.
Most the time I go empire calvary because I've found thar a horde of them hitting from two sides steamrolls most of the enemies, and the highest 2 tiers can steamroll in sieges too
I feel like cav are the way to go most of the time. Especially the upgraded ones. I steam roll every infantry army with like 60% cav and 20% for both archers and Infantry. One your party is like lightning quick and you get bonuses for Norman’s traditions for footmen on horses so you even move faster. Then you bully the low tier armies get that free renown and your infantry just shield wall mode with archers on engage and you can slaughter any army that is 2~3 times your numbers. I they do have to be upgraded to tier 4+ to do the bigger armies
already got 200hrs in the game over the last 4 ish years but still watching it because i quit everytime at a certain point when i feel like i dont progress anymore because, after 50hrs of playing, i have 100+ tropps and lots of money but idk how to fricking get a castle or otherwhise progress into lategame while staying independent
Easiest way that doesn't piss off the entire world: wait for a city to rebell and conquer it then. Otherwise if you get trade up to max you can just buy fiefs. The way I usually go for is join a faction, start war with everyone around by raiding them and then defect while keeping my fiefs, then you just have to defeat enough of the faction you left for them to make peace. Also you should set up companion parties (in the clan menue after you reached a certain clan level), as you can call them to join your army. So at the point of progression you are describing you should be able to muster about 300+ soldiers of your clan. Then while besieging make sure to build trebuchets to dismantle the defenders catapults before you start the battle and if you are undisturbed try to starve them out (will gradually kill all garison troops once the settlement runs out of food (remaining days of food can be seen on the top rider while besieging)
I like to travel alone, with a crosbow and two stacks of bolts and beat marauders meanwhile i go from town to town selling and buying stuff to make money. I don't hire troops or companions until i have some workshops or caravans to make passive income.
Great video and congrats on the channel growth. This looks like a cool game and is currently available on Game Pass. I'm gonna check it out now, thanks.
Very helpful guide especially if you just started like me. When you send companions away on a quest, on return they seem to forget their role and you need to reassign them. Imagine this game with better graphics and less clunky combat. It's already great but that would be amazing. I might try combat with a controller, what do you think?
i’ve been playing for years, even on warband. with the games lack of direction it’s hard to know what to do once you’ve hit a certain point. id say after 5 years of playing the mount and blade series very on and off i’ve never been able to successfully make my own kingdom
They still need to come out with the mod exspansions like War Tides,an the rest from the first mount and blade should be very cool once those all come out
Played for couple hours. Lad was pretty cool. A lord asked me to get him Five catelon chargers. Didn’t have the gold. Failed the quest. He killed my soldiers and took me prisoner. Wtf. 10/10
So two months ago you were going for 1k subs. Two months later and you are pushing 4k subs! Impressive my dude. So if you get around to reading this.. What did it for your sub explosion? Was it a certain video that really tipped it over? Was it a certain game or video subject that made your numbers jump? Your loyal followers would like to know! Seriously I'm not asking for youtube channel advice or anything like that. Just curious for real. So many think being a streamer / content creator is easy but it's actually quite difficult and takes real hard work and dedication 😊
Man honestly, I think it’s just focusing on making quality content. A lot of creators forget that there’s actual people on the other side of the screen watching what they make. People’s time is valuable, so you have to try and meaningfully add to it, either by being entertaining, funny or insightful. Currently I’m just focusing on Bannerlord, which has done well to build up a bit of an audience. But very soon I’m gonna start to branch out a bit and try out other RPG’s, so wish me luck!! Thanks for the comment man!
Second time I'm giving mount and blade a try, first time was years ago. Same problem now as I had then. First off, I hate reading dialogue. So I don't do it, but now I have no clue what the game is about. I ended up just doing practice fights in the arena for like two hours then killed some looters. People say it's about what you want. That it's a sandbox, you set your own goals. But that's not how my mind works. I don't set goals, I never have. Even in life. I just do what falls in front of me. But in this game, i feel like nothing falls in front of me. Nothing gets in my face saying this is an issue that need resolving, except for a few lost siblings I've never seen. Maybe it's just not for me. The combat is fun though. Also, skill trees overwhelm me, so I tend to ignore them. Edit: Help, I'm addicted
Best advice, pick a faction and go to their main cities and seek out quests. This isn’t like an rpg that hands a story to you and railroads, it’s as you said a sandbox you have to seek the story you want (easiest way is building up a relationship with a faction and taking it from there).
Yeah, I can't pernounce the empires' names for the life of me, so I always just call them there real world counterparts. If you're going to do the tournament, it's different for each empire. Everyone does the torments starting out, and it's kind of fun when you're not at war and trying to be super merc. But if you're not good at horse archery and you join a torment with Mongrols well I like to think most people have seen marco polo you should know there known for just that and there tournaments will have it. I did get curious. One day, I saw the numbers weren't the same in the tournament, then in battle, and I saw a javelin in a guys heart. So I wondered how they were saying these dudes were living and not getting hurt after. So I ran into a devoloper on reddit and asked him. He stated that the throwing weapons and arrows are only sharp up to an inch, so it sticks but reduces the numbers. That way, it can't get to the heart or through the skull, etc. But the fighting weapons are completely blunt. So I went all over looking it took like half a game year to find all of them. But there are weapons in the game that are blunt that matches the tournament weapons. But a lot of them don't say blunt, which is why I took so long you have to match the stats. So I wanted to try something. I replaced all my companions, weapons, and my own with tournament weapons. Figured how many people together can we really put down we won't have that many prisoners. My prisoner count per battle went from about 20 sometime 15 to 45, sometimes 50. My only regret is I should of upgraded that before I tried it. I could only hold around 30.
My first try is a pure bow on foot and kinda sh** specially in arena so i reset and created a 1 handed both in horse and on foot and i rule the whole arena.
Best advice i can give to new people...skip polearm go straight to 2 handed. Polearm doesnt have cleave which is really STUPID but i get it. Nobody would use a 100 in axe over 220 in rhomper
I've seen the tournament tip a lot.... Except it's hard to win anything when you die after two hits because your gear blows, also difficult to get good at fighting when two people rush you as soon as the screen loads, give those two hits, kill and disqualify you. It took no time at all for there to be almost no looters on the map, tired of chasing them for 10 mins and barely getting enough crap to pay my peasant army's food and wages. Same with quests.... Most towns have none, those that do say, "You don't know enough about smithing"... Well yeah, I can't afford materials to level and I have to sell every looted hoe and pitchfork to stay alive...not that I could smelt them anyway, because even that requires mats I can't get. Or, "Bring me some mules".... OK, I'll go hover over EVERY little town on the map and see what they have.... 30 settlements and a wasted hour of life later... No mules.... I'll look it up... Someone on Reddit says, look in Town XXXX... Ok..where is that? It's just a crap game that isn't worth the time to learn. Lastly... It was a good video, I really hope the devs give people like you money or something good, considering you're doing their job for them, teaching people how to play.... God knows their half-baked game didn't accomplished it. Only reason I'm not too upset (aside from the wasted hours of life I could have been learning something, making money, or just doing something enjoyable) is that the game was free... Seems a very fair price for this particular title.
Make swords, get good at making super valuable swords, and then sell said swords and make all castles broke. I've been making swords worth 12-20k denars each. lol
the mechanics sure i can keep up, but i don't know how to progress the game. i keep doing tournaments, building up my party to a respectable 40, fight raiders and cull the ones who can't level up in time, but by the time i get to t2 or t3 all the raiders are gone, im fighting kingdoms as a mercenary, and all my units are back to t1 because the veterans are dead. i carve one fief out for myself and almost immediately i am besieged, or go broke trying to keep my finances afloat.
Step 1: gain renown from tournaments, killing raiders and clearing out hideouts until you reach clan level 2. Step 2: Choose a faction you like, find a lord of that faction and offer yourself as a mercenary. Then continue to fight raiders, looters and if your leige is at war, their enemies. You'll gain influence for any of those tasks and be paid quite a lot daily based on your influence as well as small sum for each battle you fight. You'll level up quickly doing this and unlock more troop capacity through perks. Step 3: Use your cash to outfit yourself and level/replace your troops. That'll get you entirely through the early game grind. I don't bother trying to take fiefs or anything else until I have reached clan level 5. The kingdom manager side of the game is late middle to late game. Just focus on being a merc and building cash and an army of T5+ troops.
Oh and it's worth mentioning, if at any point the faction you're fighting for asks you to become a vassal, just ignore them. It ain't worth it. As a merc you can leave their kingdom and go fight elsewhere without taking a hit to your relationship with them. If you're a vassal it'll cost you some hard won relationship points.
@@vato89 no it's not it's pretty basic there probably just use to playing to PC, I have the game on PS5 and it's good, the only bad thing is the big battles because everything swarms your camera
Is there ANYWAY that i could play this game on mobile...? Like on psp or something? I have Steel And Flesh 2 and it haven't been updated in 2 years and I'm waiting for the big update since an eternity
Enemy army size is half (usually more) of the total size. I.E. If you set max army size to say 400 and you fight an enemy with an army of 300 the game tries to auto balance the number of troops so both sides are close in power. The rest of your troops "should" show up somewhere on the battlefield and move toward the player character as reinforcements after the total number of troops on the field falls below that 400 threshold.
Most of what you say is valid, it's some good information here. That being said, you would benefit in making a script first and practicing this, when you struggle to find the right words it hurts the overall message.

(NEVER capture a lord, ALWAYS let them free after the fight, that will give you charm 275 in no time and will also build relationship very quickly)
8. look for a companion you can use as a scout, with the possibilty of getting 10 attributes in cunning and 5 focus points in scout (maxing it to the fullest)
9. look for a companion that can max out on smithing (10 attributes on endurance and 5 focus in smithing)
8 & 9 EXTRA. if you plan on a really long game, get yourself a low level wife that has points in endurance and cunning.) it takes a while, but you can make her into your maxed out scout AND smith!!!!!!!!!!! with that you open the space for 2 more companions because you dont need a smith and scout companion.
10. you are ready to rule the world!!!!
Whats the 7/5 rule?
1) I like starting off with 15-20 Aserai Footmen. Because they have a mace, which means more prisoners. Crossbows and maces knock-out opponents instead of killing.
2) I first look for a wife/husband to start pumping out kids. They'll also be a skilled companion with great gear.
3) For companions, I first look for a Spicevendor to form a caravan and use most of my companions for caravans.
4)When I have all the caravans and workshop I can. I fill up on troops and wait for a Rebellious town to siege.
Great vid man! The I was unsure how to tackle bigger battles and this helped a lot!
Glad it helped!
Nice video, this clarified a lot
Glad I could help out man
Just got the game finally, sick video bro got a sub, will watch some of your other vids sure you’ll get big soon 🙏
Wow thanks a lot man! Means the world to me 🙏🏼 🙏🏼
Most the time I go empire calvary because I've found thar a horde of them hitting from two sides steamrolls most of the enemies, and the highest 2 tiers can steamroll in sieges too
I’m a vessel in the empire, their 4 clan and I didn’t even know the difference between engage and charge till I watched this video, thank you man 😂
No worries my man!!
I just got the game. Havent played yet. It looks good
Nearly 5 thousand subscribers now
It’s insane man 🙏🏼🤭
I feel like cav are the way to go most of the time.
@@hmvollbanane1259 How do you join a faction?
idk but im hyped to play so only listening to audio to not avoid blind experience
Enjoy man!
Just a returning player after a year and i know there has been some updates not sure how groundbreaking but this video will be super helpful 💯👍🏽
Glad to hear it helped man!
F1+F3 is all I know 😏
I like to travel alone, with a crosbow and two stacks of bolts and beat marauders meanwhile i go from town to town selling and buying stuff to make money. I don't hire troops or companions until i have some workshops or caravans to make passive income.
Great tutorial video!
Thanks!! Glad you liked it!
This looka like top tier potentially one of my all time faves.... but cant digure out wtf to do. Make momey or find looters or whatever
underated fr
❤❤
Here at 3.7k keep it up homie
❤️ ❤️
I have played the first game quite a bit. I wish they had Swadians... King Harlus needs his butter.
lol i love hearing road to 1k subs and seeing you have 3k good guide, congrats
It’s been a crazy journey so far. The support has been incredible, still only the beginning but ❤️❤️
love it great guide!
Thanks dude!
Haven’t played with a controller before, but I don’t mind the combat on keyboard and mouse
@@WindsOfficial I'm usually keyboard mouse person but for some things like Dark Souls for example, controller wins
I want them to do a mash up with dynasty warriors
Ever played dynasty warriors tactics?
*dynasty tactics*
i’ve been playing for years, even on warband. with the games lack of direction it’s hard to know what to do once you’ve hit a certain point. id say after 5 years of playing the mount and blade series very on and off i’ve never been able to successfully make my own kingdom
I'm still trying to figure this game out lmao! I literally get bombarded in sandbox before I even walk
Any news on the Viking raider play through?
I think I’m going to release a more raw version of Bannerlord playthroughs, so keep an eye out for those
Less talking, more raiding.
excellent guide!
Thanks man!
Wtf. 10/10
Batthans with javs are fucking scary when your on horseback and get to close just due to the number of spears coming at you
Pre watch:I struggle with being able to afford the army wages
I hope post watch it is better now
Nice Guide, thanks.
Glad it was helpful!
Thank you for Teaching Me The FN Game Coach!!
I'm here for the peasant shakedown
As new player and the actual state of the game you have no chance in early gane to win a tournament. I like that, it was to easy in the past.
Heck yeah man!
Very nice video I’m an expert at this game but this coulda helped a year ago. I literally had to fight against the algorithm 😅
Great guide. I've been playing for awhile and the tips are spot on.
Also, what's the music at the epic montage scene?
Thanks man! Hmm I’m not too sure, I know I got it off Artlist
Just about to start god help me 😂
Good luck my man!
Love ur videos fam ❤
Glad you like them!
how do you not have liek 100,000 subscribers??
❤❤
Best advice i can give to new people...skip polearm go straight to 2 handed. Polearm doesnt have cleave which is really STUPID but i get it. Nobody would use a 100 in axe over 220 in rhomper
Good stuff
Glad you enjoyed
really important question.. during the video you opened up/extended the combat log notifications in the lower left, how do you do that?? which button
Do you mean the menu for troop actions? If so just press f1 and the menu should pop up.
When you've played the game forever and are watching guides to see if there's anything you've missed.
I have had this game since it came out during lockdown, now my computer can finally run it! I cannot wait.
Hell yeah
best army composition is 100% horse archers
Great great tutorial
Me with 80 horse archers
Lol i saw you named your family Bloodclaat 😂😂😂 🇯🇲
😂😂😭😭
I've been making swords worth 12-20k denars each. lol
Try 50 percent archers, 30 percent cavelry and 20 percent infantry.
the mechanics sure i can keep up, but i don't know how to progress the game. i keep doing tournaments, building up my party to a respectable 40, fight raiders and cull the ones who can't level up in time, but by the time i get to t2 or t3 all the raiders are gone, im fighting kingdoms as a mercenary, and all my units are back to t1 because the veterans are dead. i carve one fief out for myself and almost immediately i am besieged, or go broke trying to keep my finances afloat.
Combat on the ps5 is balls
Yeah unfortunately it sucks
How? I play on Xbox it can’t be much different.
@@vato89 no it's not it's pretty basic there probably just use to playing to PC, I have the game on PS5 and it's good, the only bad thing is the big battles because everything swarms your camera
930 subs lol one year later over 18k well done mate ill give you a sub if you teach me this game.
Go Kuzait. Get Kahns Guard. Done.
Is there ANYWAY that i could play this game on mobile...? Like on psp or something? I have Steel And Flesh 2 and it haven't been updated in 2 years and I'm waiting for the big update since an eternity
I can recommend Medieval 2 for mobile.
The nation of rohan needs no infantry 😅
My question is why there’s only like 10 troops in each group in custom battles when I set the troop number overall to over 200?
hmm not too sure about this man, is it still happening?
Enemy army size is half (usually more) of the total size. I.E. If you set max army size to say 400 and you fight an enemy with an army of 300 the game tries to auto balance the number of troops so both sides are close in power. The rest of your troops "should" show up somewhere on the battlefield and move toward the player character as reinforcements after the total number of troops on the field falls below that 400 threshold.
Can I give army item what I want? I mean if I want to give my inflantry good axe,can I do it?
Most of what you say is valid, it's some good information here.
That being said, you would benefit in making a script first and practicing this, when you struggle to find the right words it hurts the overall message.
