I feel like the 'get a castle/town' stage could be alleviated if every mercenary clan start off with a castle, a town, and their assortment of villages somewhere nestled in among the rest. Not only does it display a bit of cultural/structural divide within the factions, it'd also give a player a springboard to take their own castle or town to build a kingdom from there, and easier access to the mercenary clan troops, while still allowing that mercenary clan to exist like they do now without any fiefs (plus you'd be able to wage war against them specifically without waging war against whichever faction they are working for )
Most of the time minor factions are at war directly and/or as mercenary of a kingdom. So once the player would be strong enough for a siege, the minor factions fiefs would've likely already been captured by established factions. Bide your time, level your clan working as a merc and as soon as you see a rebellion pop up in a city head there after ending your contract. Youll probably need around 150 high level troops. You could prob do it with less but have them all highly leveled. Fight with the rebels patrolling around the city then treb until the garrison is highly weakened or gone and the walls are crumbled. Then just march in there and take it and boom your an independant city state. I got lucky and ended up with pen canoc as a battanian character. Getting my ass kicked by a never ending imperial war now but it started great lol, I'm up to like 18 cities and 26 castles I think
And if you didn't know you can store seige equipment so it doesn't get shot by the defenders while you're building them. I like to have at least 3 before I start trebbing. The reason this works so great is you don't have to worry about anyone stopping you because you're only at war with a single rebel faction
I just bought MAB2 bannerlord on ps5, thank you for your tips it's really a big help since I don't know what to do since the info on tutorial was so vague 😂

To all you saying treb the walls down your wrong if your BUILDING A KINGDOM then you definitely would want your first castle to have walls intact having intact walls is worth a few lives
As I mentioned in a previous comment, I came across your channel a few weeks ago. I appreciate how you make things clear for players new to Bannerlord. Greetings from Canada.
Amazing video! Ive played when it was in early access, and never was able to take a castle. Your video was amazing and so cinematic! Loved the siege! I have to reinstall and start grinding again, it looks amazing!
Btw the red eyes bug can be overcomed if you safe game and then in performance options change the texture streaming budget to very high value and save it. After that exit the game and load it again . If It ever happens again do the same aproach. Ussually it happens when the settings get reset to default after error pops up.
You made it seem so easy and then it was lol i led 116 to take a castle of 300, oddly enough i was beefing with the asari since i started the game, which was probably a solid 6-7 in game years, i attacked their armies and caravans but i never took hostages, a day after i took my first castle they pulled up 650+ troops deep but made peace with me for literally nothing, they were surprisingly chill about my near decade of degeneracy towards their kingdom 😂
The best siege method is slow sieges... build 4 trebs, move em to reserve, build 2 SIEGE TOWERS, wait until garrison died, when militia alone stands put trebs to fire ( build speed depends on how many troops are actively defending it ) and when all defenders siege equip are destroyed wait and keep bombarding the town so walls get weaker... here you have 2 options: A: full archers ( either fians or palatine guarda ) or B: full infantry (either imperial or sturgian ) W option A you will weaken their walls BUT DO NOT DESTROY THEM, keep em w as low hp as possible, weak walls have no cover, which means defenders get exposed to archer fire, then you must set MANUALLY archer groups in front of the town w good angle and distance from tje walls... after you do this choose 1 of the 2 siege towers and climb it yourself ( go w a 2 handed long polearm, preferably the rhomphaia and a big shield ) open the bridge between tower and wall and FALL BACK to the ladders, some infantry will follow you and your archers will shot em down, then go up and bait em till no one else is there, go down the siege tower and repeat on the other side, when the walls are free select everyone and put sergeants on command and you should win w almost if not 0 casualties... Now option B for gigachads you do not build siege towers, build the battering ram and 4 trebs but this time destroy the walls and siege equip from defenders. After doing this assault and when you start the battle select all your troops, order them to follow you and go to one of the breached walls, take on account infantry divides itself on 3 groups so bringing all your troops to 1 sector most of the time gives you victory there, after that clear the gates and then the other sector and boom. Done. This is what 1k hs of bannerlord campaigns look like. Glory to the Empire!
I just got my first town, it was a rebellion town so I just kept murdering all the armies coming in and out of it, as well as executing the lord's, and starved them out. Eventually after 30 days of seige I stopped to go get food and all the defenders left, I walked through and took my pick.
I've found that building the catapults and a siege tower or two is better than the ram. Sure the walls are a tight spot to fight in like the gate, but there are fewer places for archers to rain arrows on your men and for rocks to be thrown at them as well.
I was waiting with my wife if you know what I mean, and ragnvad and the boys just gave me 2 castles across the map while I wasn't even actually playing.
To get more men and a bigger army you should hire companions and turn them into party leaders. Of course you will need the finances beforehand so be a mercenary, set up caravans, workshops, or whatever. Your brother in the game can have a large army with his high stewardship skill
The easiest way to take a city without joining anyone or being hostile with another faction. Do merchant guard and poacher missions at different cities to build your reputation and gather troops. Then, wait for a city to rebel, then swoop in and claim it before a faction can. Free city no hostile relations
I got my first castle when I had around 250 troops and made sure it was one that was against a losing kingdom and that was one that had just been liberated (battania is a good one)
during a siege i stay on the horse, jump over the guys who have just knocked down the main gate, and teh defenders, and cause chaos in the backfield. Works a treat
i think the better thing is bulit 4 trebuchets and hide them, then putting them all at once while preparing the siege equpipments while they destroy their catapults cause they are op af
You can take Varcheg easily. For independent factions like that, there's no heroes to harass you in the field, which lets you build up a full line of trebs. After each treb is build, put it into reserve, to keep it from being destroyed by enemy siege weapon fire. Then once four are built, unleash them all at the same time. You will be able to take down the entire enemy defenses. Then, one by one switch out your trebs for ballistae. Once in the battle ballistae have no ammo limit, so you can set your army to halt, while your ballistae whittle down your opponents foes while being mostly out of range themselves. Note: This does not work on the red faction, as their crossbowmen will outrange the ballistae Also: don't build a ram, or your troops will try to push it while idle, killing them.
Man, these purple clan guys are quite well equiped, Ive captured many castles yet they get me eventually with a 100 kill dif and my other army chill to take random castles instead of freeing me 😂, so done, their leaser is dead now, i showed him mercy 2 times, this is it

So far, this is the only gaming youtuber, who just gets the point. Its amazing. He honestly just explains things, simply, without adding unnecessary fluff. What a God!

@Johnson Howard He is a God,as long as there are those that believe he is.The existence of any God is purely based on whether or not people still hold belief in their existence.
@@jeffdroog If God's existence is objectively true, it's objectively true outside of what we believe and ourselves. AkA, me believing Biden isn't real doesn't change the objective reality of his existence. People aren't 'Gods', worship the creator not the creation
if you have enough money you can make extra parties so you can attack with more men .. (let's say you have about 60 men in your party at top you make nogand a party + 60 is 120 + every family member plus spouse of your brother.. and Varec + Alda + companions.. give very fast 200+ army..)!
He made his wife fight in the castle the week she had birth...
Upload it three minutes ago this is the fastest video I’ve ever clicked of yours. keep up the good work, I’m loving the continent❤
9:08 No need to reserve rams and siege towers, they don't get attacked by defender siege engines.
I have always loved the why Tyal looks. When make a new kingdom I make it my capital.
I swear on realistic difficulty its borderline impossible you need to almost wait till a castle gets captured to even have a chance at taking one.
hahah realistic mode (early on) is complete horror.
most enjoyable way to do it though 😅
FYI this was recorded on:
- Friendly Troops Received Damage: Realistic
- Combat AI difficulty: Veteran (hardest)
- Player Received Damage reduced by 50% (easy, since i enjoy being a raid boss)
It has mainly to do with the tier troops you have. Often it can be more beneficial to auto resolve instead of watch the AI try to navigate the walls vs some cities.
@@ESOdanny this is good to know I tended to use mediocre units because I needed just a ton like 200 men and it was financially destroying me at the time.
As someone who plays Vlandia a lot. I usually take Rovalt and Ostican in the top left of the map as well as Tirby castle. It's an incredibly well defendable area of the map.
It's so sad that there aren't any territories on the islands of the map, including the in-lake/in-sea islands. Those would be SO MUCH FUN to own! 🤩😭
To all you saying treb the walls down your wrong if your BUILDING A KINGDOM then you definitely would want your first castle to have walls intact having intact walls is worth a few lives
Thank you so much, you just got a new subscriber and your sound is so smooth its like listening to a very good teacher. thanks for the tips.
He puts way more effort in to defeating hideouts then I do, usually just let my maxed lv men charge then duel the boss
Solo hideouts is great for levelling athletics and combat skills, but that's the only reason to not let your troops clear it
9:58 Congratulations bro, you are now grateful father
It’s exactly the same mecanichs of total war and that’s why i love this game😍
I’m so happy he’s playing bannerlord now
The best siege method is slow sieges... build 4 trebs, move em to reserve, build 2 SIEGE TOWERS, wait until garrison died, when militia alone stands put trebs to fire ( build speed depends on how many troops are actively defending it ) and when all defenders siege equip are destroyed wait and keep bombarding the town so walls get weaker... here you have 2 options: A: full archers ( either fians or palatine guarda ) or B: full infantry (either imperial or sturgian )
W option A you will weaken their walls BUT DO NOT DESTROY THEM, keep em w as low hp as possible, weak walls have no cover, which means defenders get exposed to archer fire, then you must set MANUALLY archer groups in front of the town w good angle and distance from tje walls... after you do this choose 1 of the 2 siege towers and climb it yourself ( go w a 2 handed long polearm, preferably the rhomphaia and a big shield ) open the bridge between tower and wall and FALL BACK to the ladders, some infantry will follow you and your archers will shot em down, then go up and bait em till no one else is there, go down the siege tower and repeat on the other side, when the walls are free select everyone and put sergeants on command and you should win w almost if not 0 casualties...
Would love to see you delv into Old Realms... thats a fun one great video btw
I really appreciate these videos they are carrying my first run on banerlord and teaching me alot for my next run
0:54 “the northern empire to the south” checks out😂
0:12 absolutely based
I was waiting with my wife if you know what I mean, and ragnvad and the boys just gave me 2 castles across the map while I wasn't even actually playing.
To get more men and a bigger army you should hire companions and turn them into party leaders. Of course you will need the finances beforehand so be a mercenary, set up caravans, workshops, or whatever. Your brother in the game can have a large army with his high stewardship skill
You cannot create an army until your a kingdom or a vassal unfortunately.
@@ESOdanny oh dang I didn’t know that thanks for the tip
Use your brother as a governor his cost is waaaay to high
Yessss I love that y’all are making videos on banner lord!!!!!!!
Was just watching Skyrim but ig I’m here now 😂
Hello ESO, fancy seeing you here
14:48 LOOL. Nice one, m8.
You make my life better by making great videos, let me repay you with making your life better:
You can save with F5
The easiest way to take a city without joining anyone or being hostile with another faction. Do merchant guard and poacher missions at different cities to build your reputation and gather troops. Then, wait for a city to rebel, then swoop in and claim it before a faction can. Free city no hostile relations
@19:59 "BUY ALL THE FISH!" *Clicks the arrow for every buy*
🤨🙄 Me: *Clicks and drags the the entire stack to my inventory* 🎉🏆
The northern empire to the south really threw me off there for a sec.
I got my first castle when I had around 250 troops and made sure it was one that was against a losing kingdom and that was one that had just been liberated (battania is a good one)
Same I take Aster Castle in Battania while working with Vlandians making 100K in the process but you only need like 100 troops 250 is pretty overkill
Castles don't rebel btw, it's why when you do have other clans with you, give them to your vassals, as they are horrible at kingdom management.
Also the kraken lord with depth gaurd units with his corsairs such a epic looking charge that would be
Thank you. You explained a lot and we're actually enjoyable to watch
Im not at the owning my own castle or town stage yet, but really enjoyable video.

🤓🤓
Lets just honor that he has 50 party speed and 30 party seeing distance
30 speed would've been so much better )
Intrigued by this game. Looks quite gud. Cheers Danny.
Really underrated channel u should play some popular games u with get rich
during a siege i stay on the horse, jump over the guys who have just knocked down the main gate, and teh defenders, and cause chaos in the backfield. Works a treat
I love how he does the voices, lel. Makes the video for me
Are you gonna put up your live today's live stream. I didn't have a chance to catch it. I dnt see it.
i think the better thing is bulit 4 trebuchets and hide them, then putting them all at once while preparing the siege equpipments while they destroy their catapults cause they are op af
Loving the content Battle Brother!
There is plenty of good tips and thanks 🙏
You can also just defend the castle to the point where they pay you to declare peace (always defend castles with auto resolve)
Note: This does not work on the red faction, as their crossbowmen will outrange the ballistae
Also: don't build a ram, or your troops will try to push it while idle, killing them.
Man, these purple clan guys are quite well equiped, Ive captured many castles yet they get me eventually with a 100 kill dif and my other army chill to take random castles instead of freeing me 😂, so done, their leaser is dead now, i showed him mercy 2 times, this is it
More videos with tips please! Loved this one
15:25 «My dear wife, I know you just gave a birth to our child in the siege camp yesterday, but today we are going to clear out this wrecked castle, and I want you to be nearby, to contemplate this moment together. Our first permanent home»
Man, what a hard life you had to live in medieval times, couldn't even afford an apartment without declaring war to rebels to finally get a place to live. Almost like nowadays, but more romantic.
I'll be honest with you I wasn't war with all the factions of the same time without following the main quest line man that sucked when I was beginning
Thanks for your hard work.i really enjoy the game hopefully Santa will send me a PC I play it to cheers mate
14:51 my man just tripped
hey man im really enjoying your videos on bannerlord do you think you'll do a modded play through
I would be maidenless, broke, and fiefless without you battle brother! Keep the Bannerlord videos coming please. 🥹
Quick Tip: Turn of DLSS and the ghost shadow's on the map will vanish.
hey eso i never expected you to play this game its super underrated
Your videos are great they help me out so much
Update. Just wait for a rebellion and when they take a castle rush over there buy there food, raid all there villages and then just siege and wait. It'll be a new empire so once you take it you will have no war
Thanks this was really helpful!
dam this game is so fucking good and fun, i discover yesterday your channel, subscribe instant, your content is really good and help me .. tks for speak that slowly and crealy english ✌🏾
Thank you for all the great videos!
Castles don't rebel. The real reason why you should show mercy is because pillaging can downgrade the wall level and reduce this pretty stone castle to a wooden shacky fortification which will be harder to defend.
Hey guys. I’m trying to find the correct Twitch channel for ESO. The one in the comments is over a year old with nothing new posted to it. Is there another one and if so (no offence) it may need to be added. Also thanks 🙏 for another insightful video. These guilds really help out us newbies and players that haven’t played since the betas 👍
You could aways buy a rebel city's entire food supply then then the defenders numbers will go down as you seige them for a couple days
For me I got a whole town for free basically due to the fact that it had 60 defenders after a successful raid from rebels. I got lucky
Excellent guide !
excellent ....best teacher
the fact his character is named ragnar such as mines and im looking at this three months late 😂
you dont have to pay any faction for peace, capture their lords, win the battles, and they will pay you, thats really simple, i started my first kingdom when i already had 3 towns and 4 castles as a vassal of Vlandia, beat their armies, THEY PAY ME
Awesome video thank you 🙏
I’m just trash at this game. My greatest achievement so far is taking a castle and holding it for a total of 6 game days… until an army of over 1,000 came rolling in.
Thanks!
Thankyou so much for the support Battle BROTHER!
