I've just discovered you and your videos, and I am so excited to learn more and dive into this subject - a perfect mix of logic and art. You are an amazing teacher, really entertaining and funny, great explanations (just the right amount of information), and just so real. Thank you so much!
Group up in Algiers and my grandfather was a geometric and tiles work, he build his house with all geometric tiles and wood carving, it literally a a beautiful castle. Any as a kid I always got lost in watching the walls. The roof and the doors . And house center fountain was a master piece of art ! I dont know what UA-cam recommended this to me by it was such a nice thing to watch. Thank you do much sister for sharing this
You continue to inspire, Samira. I'm now working on a set of all three arrangements to celebrate & record the original construction and will paint them with my lockdown watercolours at the weekend. It's a very meditative process and what a pleasure it is to go into a geometry trance in the evenings after work. Thank you as always :)
I am such a big fan, Samira. Love that you were (and are) a teacher because you make it so sensible and therefore something one can learn and follow. Granted, at their own pace (I'm the slow backbencher who always takes more time before reaching her a-ha moment LOL)
Outstanding. Your students were lucky to have such a good teacher. I appreciate how you not only show the perfect drawings, but highlight where they can go wrong and explain WHY they go wrong and even by how much. Not only good instruction but it shows a deeper understanding of the mathematical and geometric relationships. I am motivated to gather a deeper understanding. Thank you!
This was so helpful, thank you for taking the time to teach us newbies. You’re an amazing instructor, your work is BEAUTIFUL and I’m looking forward to watching more of your videos in the future! ❤️
Hi Samira! Watching your tutorials has become one of my nightly habits! Practising on them every weekend! Thank you for sharing your art and knowledge!
Now i am looking forward to islamic pattern for learning after hindu sacred geometry. Isn't it beautiful! how so many religions are tied to each other through the manadala art. spiritual and authentic our ancestor. they were creative, and having great knowledge ahead of their time.
Simply loved the way you are teaching. It's so easy with your instructions and your explanation of it. I wish the world would have more teachers like you who are so devoted to their work and also make it interesting for students like us to learn. Keep up the good work.
You are Really Really Super Talented Artist In Islamic Arts. 👏👏👏👏👏👏 . Your Tutorials are Really Helpful Please upload more videos. From Ms. Tehzeeb Umar India 🇮🇳 Delhi Lots of Love ❤ and Thank you so much Miss Samira
Oh Samira, I was trying to understand how the tracing and pasting worked with very little knowledge. This work here of you made it so easy to understand. May God bless you. Thank you very much
This is soooo beautiful! You are an excellent artist and teacher. I’ve done a lot of Celtic woven drawings which can be somewhat similar in construction. There’s something fascinating about the intricacy of such designs, and the underlying universality of the language of geometry which can be seen throughout nature, from the vastness of galaxies in the cosmos, down to the tiniest atomic structures. There is evidence of design everywhere in creation!! I have been fascinated by Islamic/geometric art for a long time and have several books on it, and have visited various sites in the Middle East and seen the incredible beauty of the architecture and decoration, but so far I haven’t actually tried it! (I do a huge amount of other creative stuff and there always seem to be other projects on the go that need finishing first...) I love the colours you have chosen, too. I can also see this working with a combination of a rich blue and turquoise. Just one tiny thing I noticed - not a criticism because I’m sure when I do it, there will be more than one, haha! - on the outer part of the final woven drawing, you’ve got two “unders” side by side in one place. I wonder if anyone else noticed this tiny flaw? However, I have read that all Islamic artworks feature one small error to show that man falls short of divine perfection!!
love what you say about the universality of geometry! and dare I say, its really common for me to make errors....especially leaving one shape uncoloured, thats typical of me! But doing an over, over...totally possible, ill have to have a look and then smile...
Samira Mian These designs are so complex, and done by hand and by eye, it is easy to miss small things. At the moment I am working on a miniature cross stitch project, embroidering tiny Persian carpets to make covers for needle books. I am designing them first on graph paper, from images I have found online, and the last one that I completed, I found sooo many errors in the design!! On my blog everyone was saying they couldn’t spot the mistakes and it became almost like one of those “spot the difference” games! (If you want to see them, you can visit me at shoshiplatypus.com/blog - but no worries, I am sure you are really busy). As for the universality of geometry, it is a fascinating subject. It is also absolutely amazing how often the Fibonacci Series and the Golden Rectangle crop up in nature, and how our eyes and brains are attuned to appreciate its beauty. God is a mathematician! I just love your work and am gradually watching all the videos, and saving them for future reference for when I start to do the drawings myself. Keep up the good work, and I wish you well in your endeavours.
¡Muchísimas gracias! Eres una profe con mucho encanto y logré hacer el primer diseño, más de dos horas, pero muy contenta con el resultado. Thank you very much! You are the best!

Enjoyable and instructional :) You are one of the best teachers that I know! Love your work, hoping to dive into your online course soon! Stay safe & well, huge hugs from Uruguay :)
Thank you so much for the video! It was clear and easy to follow. I have to admit that I usually do Mandalas and do after I finished tiling the pattern and painting it... I couldn’t resist adding some mandala elements to it. I think it turned out well... I wish I could send you a picture of it so you could see
Thank you so much. You videos are engaging and informative and this once is especially good however, I cannot find other videos where you detail weaving and so my attempts are very much hit-and-miss- and-rub out (on loop). In these weird times I find the path to these patterns to be at once focusing and relaxing.
Hi Samira I’m want thank you for your videos that I learned alot . My question i can use this system to make my own pattern for carve on whittling on wood ?
@@samiramian thank you for answering . I’m quite convinced with wood carving which part out and which let in . I mean better carve out the line or carve out between lines?
Just so u know. I used to draw good geometric designs but when i studied ur course u made it extremely difficult and so confusing that i even forgot what i used to remember
hi! 10fold is very peculiar! the extended star one isnt really tile-able ( in this form, without overlap), So tiling it in the rhombus shape is needed...! enjoy!

Very nice instructive way to explain what you are doing, have you ever thought doing this on a computer , this could be 10 time faster.
drawing by hand is enjoyable in its own right, i use a computer too, but would never swap to that entirely l
